This shows it may have NFC: https://www.gsmarena.com/lg_k41s-10086.php

No NFC means no Google Pay… that would be a shame tbh.

    • I'm just going by past comments on this phone and a review on the JB website.

      For this price? Perfectly acceptable

    • I don't think it does..

Found it on Target's site: https://www.target.com.au/p/lg-k41s-unlocked-mobile-phone-gr…

Theres a review there on this listing suggesting:
"Very happy with this phone overall. It's got everything that I need, and performs as well as any Android. The only letdown is that it is not NFC enabled. Unfortunately, I cannot use it with my flash glucose monitor."

  • this vs realme c3 ?

    • +7

realme c3 has much better processor, nfc, bigger battery

      • +5

Really? C3 locked to Optus is $69 at Woolies at the mo. That seems like a bargain

    • +2

      Realme c3 for the win.

      Good screen for outdoors
Large battery, my dual sim variety lasts 2 days, power user. For work and play
NFC very good, no problems with it
Finger print reader on back made it easy to locate and handle
Soc is in the budget gaming category, I play PUB at high graphic settings and cod at medium with no stuter

Over a quick and responsive handset with 3gb ram and 64gb storage space.

Thanks OP. Purchased. $259 at Target so $99 at JB is a big win for us.

    • +2

No worries. I ordered one up for my father.

Hopefully this is loud enough for him to hear it ring.

usb c cable +charger=$30, dual sim 4g mobile modern cost $60, so basically the phone is free

    • +3

You know, most people view the phone as what costs money, and the sim + cable + charger as free lol

  • Would this be an upgrade on my aging galaxy S8? Or am I kidding myself with a $99 mobile?

    • +2

This won't be much of an upgrade over the S8.

      • +1

Nothing wrong with S8, which would have much, much better camera and display. S series is top of the range, which were like $700 new.

    • +5

      kidding yourself tbh

    • I'd say this would pale in comparison to the S8…

    • +1

Give the S8 a full factory reset… New phone!

      • Or go for a custom ROM- I use Alexis Rom without any issues. Honestly feels like a brand new phone! So good.

    • Thanks peep! Save me 99 ozbargain dollars!

      • +3

Would've been nice if there were ozbargain points for every dollar spent / not spent after being tempted.

  • Was going to pull the trigger on a Realme c12 tomorrow @ $159.

Can anyone tell me if this would be a better option?

    Thanks!

Not worth it. Very laggy underpowered phone.

    • +1

I got one last time. Very laggy.

      • Even my LG G6 is choppy. LG's software just sucks.

  • +2

Thanks bought a one for my dad.

Add this to make it free shipping 😉
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/jackson-international-tra…

    • It is still charging me shipping despite adding this.

      • It worked for me tho

        • I think you need it to be over $100.. I added 2 which made it $101 and then free shipping appeared.

  • Helio P22
    😲
gonna struggle even for a basis task

3 years of android updates for LG smartphones. 1¾ years left.

  • thanks op!

  • This has no 5ghz wifi so very slow speeds, in my case 1/3 of the download speeds

  • The K42 on Vodafone prepaid has NFC unlike the K41S which doesn’t have it.

  • <$100 for smartphones, unbelievable.
How do they make it for this, let alone sell at these prices?

    • Mass production and cheap labour. But at this price, they are probably selling this at factory rate.

  • This isn't a bad little burn phone of that's your kink. I have too many and need to get rid of some.

    • or you could donate them to people in 3rd world countries / charities who would distribute them (hopefully for free)?

      • The problem are with third world countries are that services are very limited and costly as well as people's incomes are virtually miniscule.

You would need to consider even if a smart phone is even feasible.

  • Is this better than the Samsung Galaxy A20?

My A20 is getting slower and slower by the day.

    • A20 recently got a firmware update to Android 11, has some great new features. You could backup your phone and do a factory reset to try revolve your speed issues.

  • +2

    No NFC, no problem.

I have a case that holds the bank card at the back.
Still the same, touch the back of your phone to pay.

It holds my driver lisence and bank card. I haven't carried a wallet in years. The best.

  • Page cannot be displayed.

    Looks like it's expired.

  • Based on Woolworth Wedsite, the Realme C3 currently only have stock in Highton.

  • Deal is still active.

  • Picked this one up today, works fine. better than the Samsung A11.

Only gripe is the text is pretty fuzzy for the resolution, not sure why the notification centre has to have every category listed when there is no notification under it……is that an LG thing?
