  • Seems to be that price in a lot places albeit without free shipping.

Thanks enwar. Hate when they do this. I should have checked.

  • Seems Durable. If the one you are referring to is the Joseph & Joseph from yesterday, I had one that I bought @ 2 years ago. I only used it 1/2 a dozen times before it died, but I was probably a bit overdid it. Hence I just use a 'garlic rocker' now (or from a jar of crushed garlic).

I can confirm that it's durable. I have this exact model (have had it about 6 years) and it's still going strong. I would say it's pretty much unbreakable. I'm confident that if you buy this, you will never need to buy another garlic press for as long as you live.

They are very durable, I have one that I don't remember how long we have it for, definitely way more than 5 years.

    • +2

Very durable and easy to clean. Also easy to get all of the garlic into your dish with a quick scrape. Can confirm what the other posters have indicated. Last best and last garlic crusher that you'll need to purchase.

    $3 at woolies

There's no chance you're finding an Oxo garlic press for $3. This is leagues above any other garlic press i've used, and i've owned it for the past 7+ years without issue.

    • That's the Mint version and it's a POS - I bought one and it broke within the first 10 uses.

      • Did you apply too much…downforce?

  • 25$ for a garlic presser. Damn, I love myself for liking to chop garlic manually.

the one from ikea is much cheaper and i am blown away by the quality

    • same the quality on that one is quite impressive.
I really like the fact you can open up the pressing space to clean inside it as well.
That being stated I like having a few garlic crushers as the holes are different sizes on different garlic peelers. smaller the holes the smaller the grain of garlic and stronger garlic flavor disperses. If I remember right the oxo one has quite large extrusion holes but that also should make it easier to clean.

      • I have this garlic press from Ikea for a few years… it now just pops open noe when I try to use it … I wouldn't recommend it

    • I have the OXO one and dont think you can compare the two.
I the IKEA one doesn't look comfortable to hold and the garlic space looks significantly smaller. Only plus is that you can take out the pressing space and clean it but some would see that as a negative.

    • I replaced my ikea one with the oxo one and won't look back 😎

      Paid $22.69 fwiw, amazon uk

I use the Avanti one and it works well.

I bought this for $21.71 back in May from Amazon UK. After years of destroying dozens of garlic crushers I have finally found one that feels like it will go the long haul. It is made of nice thick metal & feels very weighty. It has a solid head that combined with nice smooth action & snug fitting press makes easy work of large amounts of garlic in no time. Also easy to clean and seems to have no issue going through the dishwasher. If you want a quality crusher that should last a decade or more then you can't go wrong with this one. Worth every cent even at $25.

  • I've has this garlic press for at least 5+ years now (didn't even though it was OXO or worth this much!).
Works really great and still looks new. It can press garlic really well and cleaning is surprisingly quite easy. Unlike the IKEA one, you can't take out the pressing space to clean it. Hasn't been an issue though and it means less parts floating around.

The handle of this OXO press is a soft grip and I HIGHLY recommend it. Getting a garlic press that has a soft grip makes a world of a difference.

Also the red spikes on this OXO one means you can virtually get all the garlic out quite easily. Don't if all other garlic pressers have this.

This one gets really good reviews and is a little cheaper.

Purchased for myself only a few weeks back, and can't fault it.

  • Really good press this one. Though that seems to be the price most places, so not really a bargain.

  • only available from Amazon USA now and $27.something

  • I hear a microplane accomplishes roughly the same thing and I think it's cheaper, only downside is having to do cloves one at a time but another option for people considering their garlic options

  • Great product! Doubles as a grip strengthener for those who like a lot of garlic :D

  • Back, cheaper.
