    This is a good jump starter. I have one, it can probably also jump start a tractor on a 12V system.

    I have one and it works well. My wife's Lexus CT200h 12V battery dead and I tried to use this to jump start the car but failed. Checked around and found the headlight was put on auto, and the heated seat was turned on. Turn them off and used this to jump start the car. Drove to the dealer and found the battery is dead. Was told it's specail battery and cost $300 to replace it.

      $300 special battery swap at a Lexus dealer? That's a pretty good price for a dealership. :)

      It was probably an AGM battery used for stop start hybrid vehicles.

    If you can just have a battery charger at home and regularly charge your battery if not using your car regularly, most dont need this. Also charging almost dead battery for a few mins with a car charger, you can still start your car once, good enough to drive to your dealer.

      all of this is true.

      the truth is, when a kid leaves the door open and you don't see it until the next day when you are running late, you want something that will work in a minute or two. Thats what has always happened to me (i have a charger that I will use when i don't use a car for a long time)

      Yeah, this is more for when you're parked away from home. At the station or venue, then come back to a flat battery. I'd say more need this, than most. Specially as it sits nicely in a boot or even glove box for those emergencies.

        Personally I have never heard from any of my friends or relatives to be in that position (at a station or anywhere else). From a punctured tyre, yes, flat battery, no. As soon as you lock the car, any lights etc should switch off. It does on mine. At home might be an issue as some may prefer not to lock cars.

          All car batteries get weak and die eventually, they don't last forever not even yours. In the last 2 years i've jumped probably 6-7 other people with my Gooloo 2000A jump starter. A couple of them were parked in a way you couldn't even access to jump with another car unless you joined 2 or 3 sets of jumper leads.

          One time my battery died without warning in a shopping center car park, i had jumper leads and everyone i asked for a jump was reluctant in case they "fried their computer". So a portable jump starter is a great investment for people who get out and about.

        Taking it on road trips is good, also has other handy features like 12V power and a torch, and of course a power bank for the kids. Wouldnt want to keep it in the car unnecessarily, especially in summer.

    I'm hardly driving at all lately so once a fortnight I put a teeny 1.5 amp charger on for a short while. I am always surprised at how quickly it fully charges.

      Throw a decent charger on it a ctek and leave it on even a small one, a dumb battery charger can damage a battery.

      I leave a ctek .8A charger on a nz70 (land cruiser battery) in the shed as its only ever used for a clay target thrower.

      No volts would be to low to penerate skin. 24v and 48v would prolly also be safe.

          Same reason why it's 100% safe to touch both 12v terminals on a battery regardless if it's a tiny 12v cell from a battery or 1000ah off grid battery.

          Also why you need electrical gloves at a certain voltage, not at a power level.

          Consider your skin as a very thing pair of electrical gloves due to your skin will have a high natural resistance.

          Yes current will kill you 30-50mA could do it esp accross your hart. A cruiser/truck battery will 1000CCA which in theory is more than enough current to kill you just not enough voltage.

          I think ~40v is generally regarded as safe ive touched 48vdc with nothing felt. 110vdc you will certinally feel. These are all hooked up to 600ah+ battery banks.

            Sure. Resistance is also included in Ohm's law so should be taken into account. The point here is that electrical energy is more than just volts.

              A 12v 1000Ah battery (or bank for that matter) is 100% safe to touch as would a 24V one 48V is pushing the limits and at a guess would be more dependant on your skin & its condition.

              A 1000Ah battery can provide 1000A for 1hr straight. It would be able to provide many times that and would be dependant on the battery's internal impedance among other things. That 1000Ah battery bank would be ~500kg and would be capable of putting well over 10000A and being safe to touch.

              Im just saying adding the resistance of your body in 24V wold be totally safe and even 48v wold likely be safe.

          The 2000 is good for up to 10.0L gasoline engine. I'd say your car is having other issues if the jump start didn't work.
