    • My bad!

It seems like not in NSW so I've requested price match on the sony store. I wish I could get it.

    • How do you do that? The price match button doesn't seem to work

    • Had my price match approved by Sony @ 7:45 this morning.

      • Mine got rejected…

      • Mine got approved too @10:38am.

        • Mine got approved at 7:54am

Last time The GG's had it at this price I asked Sony to price match, and they included free delivery! Great price, great earbuds!

    • I did the same, can agree

    • Thanks to you I just got approve from Sony this morning (send the form last night when the deal is on) but has to wait for stock on well better than HN Geelong instock and cannot travel to there to get it LoL

      • Same mine got approved at 7:54am this morning!

It is on backorder on the Sony website. Still going to try my luck with price matching.

  • been using these for a few weeks now, only thing i dont like is that it only comes with memory foam style eartips, no silicone ones. I mean i get its better for noise isolation but it is harder to keep clean and can get disgusting.

    • Is it possible to replace them for silicone ones? Most earphones/earbuds would allow you to do something similar.

      • +1

yes. i believe the old wf-1000xm3 ear tips will fit them.

      • +1

Many people have been using the SpinFit CP360 silicone tips.

    • mm yeah im not a big fan of the memory foam tips, prefer the silicone ones.

  • +2

I’ve been using them for just over a week and can’t get use to how uncomfortable they after about 30mins wear so thankfully Sony offer the 14 day money back promo. Absolutely fantastic sound for music and I was hoping after a week I’d have worn them in but no dice.

Great price for a killer set of earbuds though.

    • Same. Just returned it and waiting for refunds.
Awesome sound but just very uncomfortable.
      Does TGG allows return?

      • They’ll allow returns of unopened goods but TGG are a participating retailer for the Sony promo so you can just return them to Sony.

    • How’s noise canceling?

      • Brilliant. Can not fault the ANC at all, almost as good as the WH overheads.

    • What did you end up switching to?

      • +3

I commented below but after trying these and the AirPods Pro for the last week I’ve decided to keep the latter. My biggest gripe with the APP’s was a lack of bass but after finding some good EQ settings for Spotify I’m more than happy with them now.

I really wanted to keep these because the features are great and sound is awesome but as someone who wears earbuds for hours a day the discomfort was just a little too much for $390.

        • You should take a look at the new Edifier Neobuds pro. I'm still waiting for mine to come in but review have been very positive

    • +1

I thought the money back was only valid at the full rrp not if price matched?

      • Ah yeah, looking at the T&C's you're right so hopefully everyone who bought at the discounted rate are happy with them. T&C's wording for those wondering:

purchase outright, an Eligible Product from a Participating Sony Australia Authorised Dealer during the Purchase Period and the purchase must not have been made under any other offer or discount provided by a Participating Sony Australia Authorised Dealer (“Qualifying Purchase”).

    • I've had the same kind of issues and it's a bummer since I use my wireless earphones all the time. I really like them but cannot justify keeping for the amount they cost me considering how uncomfortable they felt after short use. I didn't know about the promotion, where can I find this? I Google'd. It's here.

I'm really hoping either the Mark 3 or Mark 4 second hand WFs go on sale soon. I don't have $330 to spend but I really need bluetooth earphones!

    • +4

??? There’s heaps of options if the only prerequisite is bt compatible…

      • +1

The WF1000XM3 was $127 in the last 'seconds' deal on eBay. I don't know if there are any bt earphones that can beat that for value!

        • too many…Jabra 75T brand new is around the same price, they fit better for my ears. XM3 is a bit too big

          • @wangsk: Does it have similar features to the XM3?
I'm mainly after multi device connectivity and being sweat proof

            • @Pornboy69er: it does connect up to 2 devices, it is not sweat proof but I have been using it for some light exercise for two years and they are still working…
They were $149 not long ago, maybe wait for the next sale.

        • unless you direly need the ANC (which isn't that great, it's just good for ear buds, absolutely terrible compared to over-ear earphones), get the galaxy buds plus.. they shit all over these in pretty much every aspect, just doesn't have the sub-par ANC..

          • @lulzenberg: Yeah that's actually one thing I don't care for. ANC gives me headaches and makes me feel dizzy.

I'll keep an eye out for galaxy buds plus deals thanks mate

    • +2

here is heaps of reviews you can go by https://www.scarbir.com/truewireless pretty accurate.

      • Interestingly the Sony WF and Apple Airpods are not on that list

        • they are but tucked away in the premium tier list.

  • -3

Can I use a JB hi-fi digital gift voucher for these?

  • how does this compared to Jabra 85t in terms of phone call? I'm not particularly fuzzy with sound, but needs to use it quite regularly for calls. Any advices greatly appreciated! thanks.

    • I think until we get some physics breaking design, in ears are always going to be substandard for call quality. Reviews for everything from 85t, 75t, xm3, xm4, AirPod pros are wildly varying - no magic silver bullet solution.

      • thanks and totally agree. But if have to pick one, which one is the "least bad"?

        • Depends on your budget and eco system of devices. I’d say it’s hard to justify going for xm3s unless you got cash to burn or can reliably say you can on-sell your 85t

        • My pick of the bunch are the Galaxy Buds Pro. I polled most people I have spoken to on MS Teams/Zoom and pretty much all agree they can hear me clearly.

This is in comparison to Airpods Pros, 75T, WF-1000XM4 and WH1000XM4.

          • @11112007: If only the fit wasn't so awful

          • @11112007: what phone are you using with?

              • @11112007: Thanks, im still thinking I just cop the airpod pro, purely because im in so deep with apple phone and tablet now… I did see samsung has a satisfaction guarantee on their buds but i dont know if i CBF as almost sure the fit will be terible for me (had nothing but issues with wf1000mx3 too.)

        • I feel like the Jabra 85t seems to pick up everything around me but I guess that's expected

    • I've got the 85t and use them daily for MT on laptop and calls, I love them. I love the fact that they connect to two devices at the same time too

    • I have galaxy buds pro and the call quality is really good. I use them for calls multiple times a day and everyone says I'm crystal clear. Fit is not the greatest, even though they are waterproof, I use my old galaxy buds for running because they stay in perfectly. ANC is average

  • I wouldn't say sound quality out is better than the 1000xm3 but the tuning is more pleasant for music and the support for LDAC greater improves clarity (gets rid of that metallic Bluetooth quality) and latency for android users. New software for speak to mute is also very innovative. Decent upgrade for me.

  • looking for something with good mic for WFH - galaxy buds+ probably is the one that comes the closest to have good call quality - anyone have any recommendations for headsets / earbuds that are wireless and good for call quality?

    • Jabra 85t

  • Still have a set on back order with Bing Lee, so screenshotted this deal for use with the 28 Degrees card.

    • still on back order, heaps of Good guy stores have these in stock in store

      • Yeah sucks I'm still waiting, but I already received the cash back from 28D.

  • How these compare to AirPods Pro?

    • +3

Purely for music, a lot more bass heavy but not as natural sounding and not as good for calls. Speak-to-chat is fantastic but can be annoying with even a cough or clearing your throat pausing whatever you’re listening to.

I’ve compared the APP’s and XM4’s side-by-side over the last week and after finding a really good EQ preset for Spotify on the APP’s I’ve decided to stick with them. They’re a lot more comfortable (for me) where the XM4’s hurt my ears after 30mins or so.

If you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem it also makes sense to go with the APP’s for the seamless switching between devices.

      YMMV.

      • Wow pretty average for the money then?

        • Personally, yes. They are very well received by nearly every review I have watched but the majority of those are based on bass levels out of the box and the noise cancellation but I only have the Airpods Pro to compare to and for over $100 more I don not see the value in these for something that I can only wear for a short time.

Everyone is different of course but after adjusting my Spotify EQ for the Pro's they were improved ten-fold and that's what convinced me to keep them and return the XM4's and the APP's were just so much more comfortable and unobtrusive in the ear because I found I had twist and jam the Sony's deep in my canal to get a secure fit.

I will admit that I will miss the XM4's features like speak-to-chat (although buggy) and adaptive sound control but for $390? No thank you.

I’d go AirPods Pro just for the quick switching

    • 50 Cent you should be pushing your own brand SMS Audio for the awesome bass!

  • Looks like the WH1000XM4B is also available at 335.75

  • +1

Great earbuds compare to my previous one Samsung buds+. I have used it for a week now and really love it. The only downside is the ear tips, as mentioned by lots of people. But after a week now, I got used to the foam ear tips.

BTW, I also ordered and tried SpinFit CP360, but I still prefer the foam one.

  • Seems kinda dumb that they would only ship them with foam tips, and by the looks of it only one pair of each size? If they don't get too gross to use they'll start to disintegrate after a couple of months and you'll have to keep buying new ones, and foam ear tips aren't exactly cheap…

    • +3

Then just buy some sillocone ones yourself. They aren't exactly expensive

      • Know where you can buy the genuine ones from the WF-1000XM3's?

        • theres no need to get 'genuine' tips. most tips you find on ebay or amazon fit them without any issues

  • +1

How do u price match with sony using a coupon in the good guys?

  • +1

for what its worth I bought this silicone case and it's a very perfect fit - not bad for $2.90 (USD?)

As a manufacturer of earphones, my opinion is that the xm4 is worse than the previous xm3 in terms of sound quality. My personal picks would be the galaxy buds line, particularly the original or the pro. But yeah, the XM3 has a far more balanced sound signature.

    • +1

      You manufacture earphones?

      • Yeah I do man, one of the only two companies that actually manufacture here, as far as I know.

        • You do realise this is where you could legitimately do a quick promo lol Whats the brand?

          • @Sammyboy: +1 dont leave us hanging OP (plus give ozbargain a mad hook up)

          • @Sammyboy: Ah man, I don't feel comfortable just doing shameless self promo like this. Just doesn't feel right to me! Sorry!

  • Seems like pretty average quality for the price when there's so many other choices out there for half the price

    • any tips for half price same quality?

  • Link no longer works, no longer for sale?

  • shows over folks

  • +1

I got a Sony price match yay!

  • I also got Sony to price match it too. Thank you OP.

    • I got Sony to price match too, bc TGG didn’t have stock near me! Haha

  • Price matched with Sony direct. If you go to their website there is a price match option. All done online.

Also did PayPal bnpl option. 4 fortnightly payments.

    Thanks op

In case anyone is interested - expires midnight.

  • I'm just considering to cancel my order on the sony store with price match. Because, it's 7% cashback on cashrewards but I'm not sure cashrewards can work for back order. If it works and sony team accept to cancel and reorder it. I wanna order again with that.

    • $20 tracked on cashrewards
