  • That's an unreal deal. Be buying one of these 100%

    Cheers.

    • -3

If they actually have them in stock!

  • My initial reaction is that this is a very good deal, particularly with the genuine copy of Windows 7. Don't need one myself, but might get the in-laws one.

    • +3

Genuine Win7 64 bit disk is the impressive bit.

  • +9

This will go well with bentan77's $199 netbook

  • +8

    AsRock H61DEL $59
    4G Kit 1333 Transcend $22
    Hitachi Deskstar 7200rpm 500G $77
    Ritmo S202U 2.0 $7
    Intel G620 $67
    USB Desktop Ritmo 8106U $8
OEM 64 bit MS Win7 Home Premium $93
    Codegen-3330-CA $39
    Total $372 from MSY

and that's not included rhe build fee.

    $299 is a great deal.

EDIT And shipping is only $21.30 to WA. A great deal on a PC and no shipping gouging? It's unheard of!

  • Will this make a good basic htpc for full hd content?

    • +2

You'd probably want to add a graphics card with 1080p decode ability and you'd have to put up with a louder/tackier case that you might prefer, but other than that yes.

EDIT And the cheapest GT210 you can find should cover the 1080p thing.

    • +2

I think you will be better with something using an i3, then you won't need a video card, it will be quieter, possibly smaller and probably not much price difference.

      • +1

Keep in mind an extra external video card would probably add 30watts of power consumption to the running system which can be about 38% of total system power consumption ( testing on my system anyway ).

  • -2

How much if less mouse, keyboard, and speakers?

    • +6

      and less windows 7?

    • Hi DK,

Keyboard Mouse & Speaker is a freebie so unfortunately the price of the Desktop will remain the same.

      Regards,

      OLC

      • +4

what if i dont want windows 7 ?

        • +45

Because Windows XP is 11 years old. FFS, let it go.

        • +1

          what's wrong with Windows 7?
It's faster than XP and more stable….and it comes with a Disk too. Win7 itself would be 100+ anywhere!

Time to move on. Stop living in the past. (though i liked XP too.)

        • @lovepub if you are a student then the lowest I have paid is $49 since F**king ANU doesn't give Win7 licences from MSDNAA to undergrads.
Still not too much of a saving for students

      • +12

Another vote for an O/S free cheaper version.
        Ubuntu works nice for me.

        • +1

        • +1. I would buy this if it were available without the Operating System. I'd probably install CentOS or similar.

        • Go linux mint!

    • +2

We have 30 of these system in stock.

    • @nimbin2k

So in that context, I assume you include those like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc?

If you see a good deal posted here, chances are that so too 1000+ or so people.

      • +3

No - I wouldn't purchase a pre-built desktop, certainly not the likes of Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc - when you see the cheap components used in such systems.

Additionally, I didnt say this was a bad deal, just that i dont trust this retailer based on previous experience. As always - BUYER BEWARE!!!

    • Not for this shop but other retailers. Don't generalise, it's flawed logic.

I've purchased from these guys before and my transaction was satisfactory

      • +3

Great to hear you had a satisfactory transaction. Unfortunately, I have not and I'm not the only one - I should have listened more to the online reviews.

  • +4

Good deal, but I'm saving for Ivy Bridge.

  • Is there a disc drive with that?

    • There isn't one listed and there's an option to add a DVD burner for $24.99 so I'd assume the answer is No.

  • +1

How on earth is this a good deal?! I'll sell you my 2nd hand Core 2 Duo E6750 with 9800GT for half the price - it'll rip this thing to shreds.

    • specs ?

    • Warranty?

      Age?

      Condition?

EDIT And are you sure yours is better? The G620 is beating the E7500 and E6800 pretty easily here: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/pentium-g850-g8…

EDIT Although the 9800GT would certainly make a massive difference :P

    • +6

"2nd hand" and "Brand New with warranty" are two completely different things.

      • -1

        ^what he said

  • This is great as a cheap media PC or something.

  • Good deal, don't really use a desktop pc any more though :p

  • Could be an excellent machine for just hooking up to the TV for playing movies….and maybe with a webcam….whoola, you have a smart TV! (prob not quite close to smart tv..but it's there)

    • It would shit all over any 'smart' tv's available now, if you had it set up right.

  • i think this looks better,what u say guys
    http://www.reboot-it.com.au/tower-quad-core-q8200-233ghz-250…

    • Well, it's used, only has XP, only has a 3 month warranty, and the hard drive is half the size…. so not in love with it myself.

    • -2

Refurbished computers are pieces of junk made to look like they are reliable.

      • +1

        That's a bit extreme.

But if I was going to buy used I'd at least get current generation technology - ie Socket 1155 Sandy Bridge. Gives you a much clearer, less expensive and better performing upgrade path.

    • I basically have this computer, same in-built graphics, same processor although I have different ram (ddr3) and I have a 4650 graphics card chugging along nicely. I removed the dvd drive so my 220Watt PSU could handle powering the graphics card reliably (it could before but was prone to turning off during high use). Comes in a slim case and works fantastic for media although I need to keep the side panel off so I have to clean regularly and I have to keep it on the top of the cabinet because it will overheat in a drawer.

      • Why do you keep the side panel off?

For better cooling or because the video card sticks out?

  • +6

I hate shopping sites that ask for your birth date as a required field. Obviously you don't put the correct one in there, but the fact they even ask to begin with gets my goat.

  • Sounds like a real bargain, I will probably get my partner one too! :>

  • would I be right in saying there is no dvd drive in this….. ?

    • How funny. I bought one and didn't even think about the optical drive.
Does not appear to include it.

  • +3

    Hi guys,

Video card options has been added, nVIDIA GT210 1GB Low Profile for $35, and AMD HD5450 1GB with built-in HDMI AUDIO for $29

    Regards,

    OLC

  • Can this handle full HD?

    • It should, yes. But the graphics card option would make it more comfortable.

  • Intel G620 CPU will struggle if you play Full-HD Quality Videos unless 720p quality.

If you would like to play Full-HD 1080p Quality Video then it is recommended to get dedicated graphics card such as HD5450 built-in sound card through HDMI connector.

    Regards,

    OLC

  • is this installation Disc or Just Recovery Disc?

    • Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit will be installed and original disc will be provided.

      Regards,

      OLC

      • +2

You're said the disc will be provided a couple of times… that includes the COA license sticker, right?

  • Is it possible to stuff a higher end graphic chip inside of it ? Higher than the ones offered in the drop down menus.
    Like, lets say : GT220 ?

    • +1

Yes it is possible, Highest model from nVIDIA you can fit inside the case is nVIDIA GT430 and AMD HD6570 1GB Graphics.

      Regards,

      OLC

  • Guys, how would you compare this to an i3 in terms of performance?

    • Good question, apparently the performance of G620 is not bad compare to i3-2120. But obviously i3 still faster in terms of multimedia, decoding and encoding.

But when it comes to gaming, both i3 and G620 CPU performance almost similar.

See the full review and comparison below:

    Hi guys,

Just to inform the stock availability to avoid any unnecessary dramas :), we have roughly around 10-12 units of these PC left.

    Regards,

    OLC

  • Thanks!! Just what i was looking for! $344 all up including 1000gb hdd option, shipping to the gold coast and credit card surcharge (worth the protection imo).

  • Hello REP, could you throw in a cheap monitor aswell?

      Regards,

    • Thank you for your purchase!

Do not trust online computer they offered a cheap NAS with limited stock a couple of weeks ago it was specified as online only but they only had one for sale. online computer are a misleading company.

    • What happened to everyone else that had purchased? Refund?

    • I got my NAS and it came in 3 business days.

So you saying I am the only one that received the NAS? Highly doubt it.

  • centre com have a pc for $200. Not sure about postage rate comparison but it won't come with keyboard or speakers. But it's not that hard to find speakers for ~$10 and kmart have wireless keyboard and mouse for $25. Although this is a great pc for media/connecting to T.V. so the fact that it's slim is handy.

    • Cons:
      - Worse CPU
      - Half the RAM
      - Normal tower not slim
      - Win7 HP 64 an extra $145

      Pros:
      - DVD Burner included

      Differences neither Pro nor Con:
      - No OS

    • Get more in-stock!!

  • thanks olc….bought one!

  • OLC would you let me know if any come available. Upset I missed this :(

  • is it weird that i cant still add this to the cart?

    • Maybe it won't let you check-out, or after you've checked out you'll get an email saying transaction reversed due to insufficient stock or something.

@OLC any chance of restocking? :P

  • Holy shitsnacks Really???

Got an email just now from the company:

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for your order. Please note as security measurement and due to many credit card fraud purchases, specifically over the internet.
We would really appreciate if you can verify your order by sending a copy of a (coloured) photo ID for all credit card transactions which is over $200.
Please reply to this email and attached the scan copy and put your order no. on the subject.

For further enquiries, please contact us at 02 9211 0898 during business hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.

    Kind Regards,

    Finance & Accounting Division
    OnLine Centre Pty Ltd

    That's such BS.

    • +1

haha i really doubt anyone doing credit card fraud will try to buy the CHEAPEST desktop pc

    • pay by paypal.

      • +1

I am trying to buy a pair of shoes from ASOS UK and they wanted a copy of my passport and bank statements. Very annoying.

  • sold out…

    • Well some people aren't gonna go through with it because of the scanning of a photo id issue. You may have a chance picking one up :D

I'm not so sure i'd want to give away my photo id copy… why are they specifically asking for a photo when they're an online shop and have never seen the customer?

      • Hi tikei,

We required to get a copy of your photo ID as requested by PayPal Australia in case of credit card fraud. They would not cover the loss not unless we supplied the Buyer Photo ID as stated on PayPal Terms & Condition.

Bear in mind we also accept direct deposit payment. And Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to change the policy at this stage. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

        Regards,

        OLC

        • is this selective? I wasn't asked for photo ID etc. Maybe they look at paypal transaction history and if there isn't much of a history they ask for it? I do tons of transactions on my paypal account.

When can we start expecting shipments in Melbourne?

  • +1

Received my order. No keyboard mouse or speakers…
    Will email customer support

    • Urgh. Not a great start.

I received my shipping notice today which appeared to indicate that it had left Sydney last Friday. Hopefully it arrives soon.

    • Same here mate and have emailed them straight away. To the no mouse/keyboard or speakers that is

    • Did they resend out the peripherals?

  • 8 days later and still hasn't been shipped?!

My order still hasn't been shipped. Weren't they supposedly prebuilt? Not a good first transaction with onlinecomputer.com.au. I don't think I will be shopping there again.

    • +1

Mine arrived on Monday 5th March. Just picked it up now from work.
Timeframe is not bad for this price, but they should not claim unrealistic shipping times.

      • did you get the keyboard mouse and speakers?

        • No! I did not receive keyboard, mouse or speakers. I'm not too fussed, though the keyboard would have come in useful as I bought the PC for my mum and I don't have a USB keyboard to set it up!

      • Mine still hasn't shipped!! And they are not answering my emails. i think i will call them tomorrow. this is rediculous!

  • I suspect they oversold and are waiting for new stock to arrive?
If that is the case, I don't know why they don't simply say so!
I think most people would understand and be ok with the situation if they explained this
    Mine arrived yesterday
