1500sqm model https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/383079525899

I've had my 1000sqm model for almost a month and it's been rock solid (approx 400sqm of lawn). You need to peg down a perimeter wire and then it's pretty much hands off. You can schedule when you'd like it to cut (I have mine going 4 afternoons a week).

This is part of Afterpay Day sale for 2021

What's the point of mowing the lawn if it doesn't give you an excuse to day drink? "Hey love the robot mower is out there doing its job, I'm gonna get drunk now" is not gonna fly with my missus.

I've got one. They feel like they are roughly where vacuum robots were about 10 years ago in terms of intelligence.

Frequently gets stuck. I wouldn't be able to go on holiday for 3 weeks and rely on it as it would get stuck after the first or second time it runs. Can't deal with obstacles well (There is a radar thing you can buy that improves this). I had to roll back 5 or 6 software updates to an old one as the firmware updates are very poor, to the point it would keep getting stuck much more often than old firmware versions. Others on Reddit complained of the same issue and also did the software rollback. The wheels sometimes spin in same spot when following the perimeter wire and dig little holes, and it'll mean that the robot will always get stuck there until you can fill it in and pack it down.

It has cut its own perimeter wire a couple of times and finding the damaged part of wire to repair is a pain in the ass when it's buried in the ground.

The blades dull and rust quickly and getting them off is a PITA as the screws they supply are soft as sh!t and will round. I've had to cut new grooves into the screws with a grinder multiple times. Asked for new screws from Worx under warranty and they refused.

It cuts the grass well enough but misses about 5-10cm around the edges as the blade is in the middle.

    • Wow, thanks for the detailed honest review!

    • What does it get struck on ? I have a lawn but apart from 3 trees I don't have much obstacles or slopes… wondering if it will work ok.

      • The grass (i.e any thatch) the sides of paths etc.

It'll do the job, but you do need to keep an eye on it though.

    Will this eat my dog?

    • Nah.
But it will slice it into small pieces.

Be careful. Mine ran over a mouse and let's just say the cleanup wasn't pleasant. I'd be careful with it around pets or kids.

  • Mow on

  • What is the result of cutting "Buffalo" grass ?

  • I am interest robot mower for my lawn. Usually how many hours need to mow a 100-150sqm lawn for Wrox ? And how many time per week ?

Usually how to prevent theft or someone to take it if I leave it mowing in front yard ? Do we need to monitor it until finished mowing ?

  • FYI: the version you are buying is the old 2020 model. The 2021 has been released in the EU already. Wait for some steep discounts towards the end of the year.

  • Anyone know about how to do warranty repair for Worx ? Are they good ? Do they have any service repairing centre in Sydney ? Thanks !

If need to send back for repairing under warranty, do I need to send back to Bayswater VIC, their head office ?
