  • These are handy for sim slutting between the Belong Starter Packs or use it as a data sim.

Don't forget to turn off auto recharge after activation.

i've been a sim slut for a long time now.
      no stds yet

  • Kogan like Belong are bad in after sales support.

    • +6

So they are the same as Telstra then. I had to contact the TIO twice before Telstra fixed my issue.

      • I'm still waiting for my refund from Telstra when they ended the creditme2u last October. When I ring up they just give me another $100 credit and another 6 months to use it (never ask for it, just want to know when my refund is coming).

    • +2

Don't know about that. I ported over 3 numbers recently and for two of them there were some hiccups. Kogan support were prompt, helpful and resolved the issues both times quickly. No complaints at all.

    • Found them to be excellent

    • My experience is the exact opposite with Kogan (effectively Voda support). They've been very good on multiple occasions (called them 5 times+ for various accounts/reasons)
Note: As they're based in India, during the height of the outbreak there, a lot of them were (maybe still are) were working from home and had limited ability to perform certain tasks related to payments/credit cards etc so they weren't able to help on the spot and had to refer to skeleton office stuff to do it. Things did take a little longer than previous interactions but they were good at following up and returning phone calls.

What's the difference between this new customer and the port over offer? I am so confused cause both pages can 'bring your own number'.

    • +2

New customer offer means you can activate without porting. Kogan will give you a new number.

      • So can I port my number over with this offer ?

      • +1

Thanks, went with port over method just to be safe.

    awesome deal, thank u sir

  • This seems too good to be true. Looking at the webpage, it looks exactly like all of the introductory offers I've seen before, except it doesn't say "will revert to $xx after first period". Or is that implied by the "85% off" flag, and the price will jump up at the first renewal?

I also notice that the terms and conditions say

    .4. Pricing

Prices displayed on the Website are subject to change without notice.

Is everyone expecting the prices to go up? Does Kogan have a history in this regard?

    • +1

After you activate just disable auto renew and remove your BC details.. Easy, painless… ;-)

    • +3

This promotion is pretty much perpetual. It is rarely gone and if it is, it always comes back soon. You will need to bookmark the page as it can't be found from within the site sometimes.

I've used this three times with the same number already starting over a year ago and will do it again in a couple of weeks. Just disable auto renew and then port out of Kogan for 30 days when it runs out to be considered a new customer and do it over again.

Note that Kogan disable the service completely 20 days after expiration so you cannot even receive verification texts to port to a new provider so you will need to do that within 20 days of expiration. This means you can't do a clean 30 days 90 days 30 days between Kogan and one other provider because of the 30 days new customer thing. So you should do something like Kogan Telstra Kogan Boost or whatever you prefer.

      • Thanks, so it's an offer for "SIM sluts" (no disrespect intended).

I think OP should point out that this is an introductory offer, the wording of the deal makes it sound like an ongoing deal.

        • +2

It pretty much is ongoing although technically it's for new customers, but as stated, you are a new customer after 30 days.

It's an offer for people who'd rather pay $5 a month for unlimited calls, texts with 20GB data than overpay for plans they won't really use or get the most out of.
I use this method for my main number and I have a second number with Aldi to use for junk as it's only $5 for a year.

      • Thanks for that. When you come back as a "new customer" do you have to use a different email or cc…like is there any traps for newbies at this?

        • +1

I've used it 3 times on the same email address "[email protected]" no issues.

        • +2

You can use the same everything as a "new customer". Number, name, email it makes no difference as they wipe the account 20 days after expiration so it's a clean slate.

  • Great was waiting for this to pop up again grabbed a few

    • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/09/2021.

  • I have got it!! Thanks

  • If I buy this now, how long do I have before the SIM card expires? Want to exhaust my bonus data on Optus first, not that it really matters.

  • I’m just about finished with the last deal on this one.

Still waiting for a Telstra jb hifi gift card deal to port back.

Any other low cost cheap option recommendations if no deal comes before September?

    • Catch Mobile 18GB 30 days? https://www.catch.com.au/product/catch-connect-30-day-mobile…

      Amaysim new customer deals?

      • Thanks! Will jump on then

          • @WatchNerd: More than enough to stay connected. Thanks

          • @WatchNerd: Belong customers may not be able to port in with JB Hi-Fi gift card deals, as per their T&Cs. Although, many have reported that the staff didn't check.

            • @aidenh37: What's that got to do with buying a Belong starter pack from Coles or Officeworks?

              • @WatchNerd: Because @Owgasm wants to do the JB Hi-Fi port-in deal, which isn't meant to be available for current Belong, Boost and Telstra customers. So you can switch to Belong but if the deal they're waiting for comes around whilst they're using that service, they'll have a harder time getting the deal.

        • Just be wary that JB Hi-Fi staff may not allow Belong customers to take advantage of the gift card offer. I'm eagerly waiting for it too, but avoiding Telstra and Telstra Wholesale networks for this reason.

  • It says pretty clearly (once you find it) that the deal is for the first period only and will revert to normal (full) price.
    Pasted below.
But posts on here indicate people are using this on a perpetual basis, $14.90 / 90 days.
    How?

♦$14.90 Offer is only valid for new Kogan Mobile customers only. Personal use only. Discount available on Kogan Mobile Prepaid Large 90 day plan, purchased before 11:59pm AEST 25/08/2021 unless sold out prior or extended. Discount does not apply to subsequent recharges and 90 day plan will auto-renew at undiscounted price if you don’t cancel or change your plan. Not available for commercial or resale purposes. Discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers. Not transferable and not redeemable for cash. Not valid for current Kogan Mobile customers. Limit 1 per customer.

    • Really? Just read the thread.

  • So does this give you a voucher to add to your account or does it give you a new sim card that comes charged with 3 months. Can you stack this and the port one?

  • Has anyone had issues with Kogan Sims failing? My first try with them left me without a phone for a week after the new SIM died.

  • Have people received a SIM card? It's been a week now…

    • I have yet to receive mine.

  • +1

I usually receive the Sim around 2 weeks after purchase
