  • Love Jabras, I have the 65s but I have heard the noise cancelling is pretty average in this model. Still at this price hard to resist.

    • +1

These weren't designed with noise cancelling in mind but it was added as a firmware some time ago. It's still pretty good result for a "simple" update to the firmware IMO.

    • -2

      It is pretty average

  • +1

I was enjoying these until yesterday when I used them while wearing jeans for the first time (with my phone in the back pocket of my jeans). The connection dropped once every few seconds, making it pretty much unusable :( Previously I've only used them for running so the phone was not in my pocket and it worked fine. I'm super disappointed, I read so many comments and reviews before buying them and this issue never came up. I don't have anywhere else to put my phone, maybe it will work in the front pocket but women's jeans have tiny front pockets.

    • I had the same issue when purchased mine after seeing all positive reviews.
Not usable for call. Returned and thought that one was fault.

    • That's the same with all true wireless buds I've tried. Human body is a terrible conductor and by putting your phone in your back pocket you're putting too much mass between it and the bud. The signal drops.

      • -1

I've used Shure ones all weekdays for a couple of years while commuting to work and back (pre-covid). The phone was always in my back pocket. They never lost their connection, not once. They're not proper earbuds, the right and left ear are connected by a wire that goes around your neck. But they are wireless and connect to the phone using BT. So somehow they managed to retain their connection to my phone through the human body.
I don't have experience with the other earbud competitors like the Apple ones / Sennheiser / Samsung etc but I'm sure they are able to maintain a connection with the phone in people's pockets.

  • Great price but I will wait for the galaxy buds II

So everyone who's considering purchasing these, I had Jabra 75t Actives (because I'm a sweaty beast and worse when I work out), they broke after 12 months and then I replaced with the Soundpeats Sonics.

I didn't have a discount on em, paid 60ish dollars and honestly they're almost just as good. They're about 9/10 as good. Definitely worth paying a bit less. The sound isn't QUITE as perfect, and they don't have noice cancelling but they're awesome and enough for me not to want to get replacement actives. The case and build quality doesn't feel as heavy/premium, but they're comfy to wear. Honestly they're great for the price. Would buy again.

As they're from Amazon, you can even send em back if they're not up to your standard :)

    Honestly, try em out.

    • +1

What exact model was it? What's yoye feedback on call/mic quality?

      • +1

Also keen to hear about mic quality.

        • SoundPEATS Sonic

          Here's the link:
          https://www.amazon.com.au/SOUNDPEATS-Headphones-Bluetooth-AP…

Mic quality must be pretty good. I've been using as work from home with calls to good quality and poor quality lines, used them for when working out at home digitally with others (working out at the same time, how weird is it the things we do to keep motivate :P) and no-ones mentioned anything about it. I don't have a large house and we're all often in the same room and callers have never said anything about it hard to hear/understand or anything

They're not quite as good as the 75t Active Jabras. Build quality alone will tell you that, they feel so much lighter, but unlike the Jabra's I didn't need to buy replacement earbuds as these ones fitted my ears well. Honestly I read a load about these from Ozbargain and thought to give them a go. For reference i loved my 75t's and ran 3 half-marathons in them… I loved them until the case broke and stopped charging them.

Obvious differences, is that these don't have noise cancelling, however when they're playing music you can't hear anything ambient (my better half can testify to that :P) and when they're not playing music the world is definitely toned down. The second thing is that there is no "audio through", that cool feature where the Jabra's had their microphones pick up and send sound through… you just have to pull out an ear bud. A cool thing though is that you can have either the left or right earbud in and control them that way. OH! and unlike the Jabra's they don't auto turn off when you pull them out of your ear :)

They don't have individual buttons, just the one, but there's an instruction booklet that comes with them that tells you what to do and it's not hard. The second thing is even when the music.

What else, errm, at first I was a bit disappointed because I was comparing apples with apples, they definitely don't sound the same as the Jabra's, they're about 90% there, but for less than 1/3 the price (as I said above i didn't buy when they were on sale) I'm still very, very happy with them and would recommend.

Do you boys/girls have any other questions?

—-EDIT: I just remembered there is some static when using game mode, but i never use it anyway—

    • +1

ANC does add some to the price.

      • Have a read of my review above :) I don't believe the Sonics have ANC, but they're really not needed.

EDIT: Turns out they do, woah, my bad!

    • +1

      Yeah paid $40 for sonics

      • +1

Nice! Would have been nice to pay that much for it, but even at $60 i consider them a great buy

  • Was ready to buy this after months of waiting and not pulling the trigger. Now I'm seeing all the complaints regarding connection issues, can any one who owns this weigh in if this is an isolated bug or a known flaw?

    • +2

Had mine for about a year and they are absolutely worth this price (mine were $240 at the time). Great sounds and options for music playback. Haven't had any issues with connectivity, and certainly no dropouts.

      Using an iPhone XS Max.

    • +2

I love these, upgraded from a set of 65t which now live at work.

Great sound quality, better call quality than any other pair of earbuds I've ever owned.

At $149 they are a bargain.

      • Is the fit the same? The 65t just fits my ears so perfectly

    • +5

I have been using it for couple of months. I use it to attend work meetings and calls. On average I spend around 4 hours on meetings and phone in a day. There are some pros and cons:

      Pros:

      1. Range is very good, it stays connected to the phone even if the phone is in the next room
      2. Sounds very clear, and the people on the other end also find my voice very clear - I use it without NC and hear through
      3. Comfortable to wear and good fit, I can wear them all day without feeling the weight
      4. Battery life is decent, not extremely good though.

      Cons:

      1. The connection with R and L has very short range, if you take R even 1-2 inches further from your ear, it loses the connection between R and L. However I don't see a use case where you will do that
      2. On iPhone whenever I take the call, call is always transferred to the phone speaker first. I have to manually change it to Bluetooth every time I take a call. It gets very annoying when you have to take 10-20 calls a day
      3. Random disconnections for 2-3 seconds, happens on average 1-2 times a day
      4. When I use hear through function, my voice is not very clear to the people on the other end.

Overall it is fit for the purpose I bought it for. It is the nature of the technology that causes some minor nuisances, unless you are using something specifically made for the device (like airpods or galaxy buds).

Please note I haven't used it for music much, so can't comment on that.

      • Thanks for the rundown, I expect I'll be taking a few calls with this if I get it as well.

      • +3

The distance between left and right buds is a feature to pause music. I believe within the app you can turn this off if it bothers you. There is an 8inch range and once it passes that distance it will auto pause. There should be an option for this.

The Jabra work great for me by being able to connect to laptop and phone at the same time.

Music quality is also great on this.

I've found the mic to be too sensitive in noisy environments and is distracting for other callers.

        • Thanks, I wasn't aware of that feature. Its good to know.

I think noisy environment will always be an issue with these type of buds. Mic has to be very sensitive because its located on your ears and it has to pick your voice. Which also causes the side effect of being sensitive to ambient noise.

      • +3

In relation to con 2, there's an easy fix for this! It just involves modifying the 'Call Audio Routing' setting under the 'Touch' section of 'Accessibility' and changing the option from 'Automatic' to 'Bluetooth Headset'. Here's a link with more precise instructions on how to do that: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2757804

        • Thank you, it made my life so much easier.
I am glad I posted my experience here :)

    • +1

My Actives are perfect when stationary, however I do experience interference when active. When wearing them while walking with my phone in my pocket I've had to move the phone to my right pocket (which goes against 15+ years of tradition), as I assume the main BT connection is through the right earbud. Otherwise it gets annoying intermittent interference, which is especially bad when at traffic intersections.

I run with them connected to a Garmin Fenix 6 for music, I've had to change to wearing the watch on my right wrist when running for the same reason as above. Felt weird and off-balance at first but have gotten used to it now.

To be fair, I am using a Pixel 2 XL and I'm not sure how strong the BT connection on a Garmin would be, so it could somewhat be contributed to by other hardware.

      • This is actually my biggest concenr. I've seen other similar comments and I have my phone in my left pocket. You'd think with BT 5.0 this wouldn't be an issue. I might just bite the bullet and return it if I can't live with it.

        • I left a comment above and that was with the phone in my left pocket as well. Pretty annoying if it has to be in the right pocket to work. I'll try that next time. I'm also using a pixel 2 XL but I've never had an issue with BT connectivity with my previous Shures so it is unlikely to be the phone's fault. It's silly if the actives only work perfectly when stationery, they're actives…

    • Got the non-active 75t directly off Jabra website a while back for around the same $. Stuffed up the firmware update and case was no longer functional (but could still charge headphones if cable plugged in). They warranty replaced it (took a few weeks).

Been using for a few weeks and haven't had the connection issues that people speak of. Works fine on the computer as well as my phone, but sounds much better on phone. Maybe have had one connection issue in middle of listening since using them (this is for the old pair that was replaced as well as new pair) but generally keep them close-ish to whatever the music is playing off (max 2-3m, through walls, etc.)

  • +1

Waiting for the Actives to come down to about this price point.

    • The grey 75t active are $178 and in stock now on Amazon, so pretty close. Just copped myself.

  • +1

The 'wireless charging capable' version is the same price https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08C4MR6GL/

Edit: this deal is linked to the wireless charging version. Title needs an update

  • Do they fall out of your ears when breathing or blinking like the sony wf-1000xm3?

    • +3

Haven't worn the Sony model, but can confirm they fit as snug as a bug. Run with them and have never even thought about them falling out.

    • +2

The Sony's fit is really unsatisfactory…. despite the good quality sound.

The 75T design is compact, and sits nicely into the cup of your ears. They never fall out.

  • I have the Active version of these. Returning them after less than a month.

The Bluetooth is rubbish. The first time you connect them, they work fine. But when you disconnect the Bluetooth, and go to reconnect them the next time; the Bluetooth connects, but the audio doesn't come through. It only works properly after resetting the phone. I thought it might be my phone (S21 Ultra), but I have tested with 2 other Bluetooth headphones and none of them have this problem.

  • Bought these last deal at JB but recently found out my workplace has offers for this at $114

    Similar comments to those above:
    - good sound and call quality
    - frequent 1-2 second disconnects from the left to the right bud which is very annoying
    - not the most comfortable compared to my Galaxy Buds+
    - case is much better than the 65t

  • I have had a pair of these for over 12 months, battery life still fantastic.
Mine have been through a lot, I have trained with them through very sweaty sessions, as well as ridden a bicycle in the rain with them in and had them quite wet and still no issues.
If you dont keep them in the case for a while, the left one may have issues reconnecting unless its placed into the case to reconnect again.
Overall, for that price - it is worth it imo.

  • How are these compared to the WF-1000XM4?

    • As a new user of XM4's all I can say is that they are incredible. Best example of noise cancelling in an ear bud that I have experienced.

I was mowing on the weekend and could barely hear the mower over my music.

      • The mic is absolutely terrible on the xm4's. My 65t is much better for phone calls

  • sick price. too bad i already caved on app's.

I purchased these 7 weeks ago and dealt with quite low volume and terribly bad Bluetooth lag on my particular phone.

I googled, thinking it was the phone and yeah, my phone does have bluetooth lag issues.

    However…….
Several other BT headphones do not have this problem on my phone, infact, out of 6 pairs of BT headphones only 2 were bad on my phone.

Finally, the "noice cancellation" was added later in firmware and is a sub par effort.
I simply can't recommend these myself.

    • +1

Hey Mate, my 85T had low volume out of the box. If you hold down the right earbud button, you will hear a click when it reaches the max volume and it increases the overall earbud volume.

Unsure if this is a default set up with Jabra, once I maxed it out via the above process, it was all good.

      • The lag was the bigger issue and the 'fake' noise cancellation (more so the lag)

The airpods really do just 'shut out' outside stuff very well. The 75Ts had noise cancellation added later in software, it has like half the needed circuitry or some such to do it 'properly'

I'm sure they're fine for some, I was quite unhappy.

        • +2

It's a software cancellation rather than the 85T which has a dedicated hardward for nc. It was more of an added feature later which worked to a reasonable level for the price.

I dont think comparing Airpods pro to this is fair comparison. Different categories. 85T might be a fair comparison to Airpod pros.

          • +1

@aspirepranesh: I agree, AirPods best price is near $100 more.

However, I'm sure there will be sets in the $120 to $180 range which compete, without lag, with reasonable volume with "real" noise cancellation.

I got sick of endless "these are flawless posts" - they ain't, I got done on these things. They do not serve all needs.

    • +2

The low volume can be attributed to the little air holes being clogged up. If you stick a pin in the little holes on the inside of the speaker, the volume becomes loud again.

I've had the 65T and upgraded to the 75T a while ago and think they are great. The ANC is a bit weak but I've never used other in ear buds with ANC to compare. I think this is a fair price for these.

  • Can anyone compare these to AirPods pro please? Lost my AirPods recently and weighing up whether to get these or wait for next AirPods to be released. Thanks

    • -3

Vastly inferior. I literally went from these to AirPod Pros and bear in mind I'm not an iOS / Mac person, I'm a Windows / Android person.

The 75T pales in comparison, volume too quiet, noise cancellation is "fake" (it's a basic software written thing, it's not a real noise cancellation like AirPods)

Huge latency too. Nope no and no. I know they worked for others (who are about to downvote me, good for you) - they're not the flawless amazing headphones for everyone.

      • If you're an Android/Windows user, I would highly recommend the WF-1000XM4's. Upgraded from my 85T's to these recently and they are awesome. I do miss the multi point with the Jabra's. But I guess I cant have it all

        • Multipoint is too important for me I think. If only the XM4's had them!! I want to use them for work calls, phone calls and music etc..

I have thee 85t's right now, they are pretty good. Some random disconnects but on the whole I quite like them.
These 75t's with multipoint might be good for the fiancé, who listens to music on the phone but can get a call on her laptop hmmm

  • Plan to use them while running - daft question maybe - but is the Sport version essential? Or is it more if you're a sweaty beast?

    • Here we go -
'Like the year before, Jabra followed up its excellent Elite 75t with a waterproof variant that adds a little extra insurance. Wet and sweaty conditions shouldn't cause any trepidation with the Elite Active 75t because they are built to withstand a serious workout or run in the rain. Beyond that, Jabra chose not to make any other cosmetic or functional changes, putting these two earbuds in a very close call.'

      https://www.androidcentral.com/jabra-elite-75t-vs-elite-acti…

  • Is this still available? I can't seem to be able to buy them at this price….
