Purple switches are their opto-mechanical ones. Orange is mechanical switch.
Uh, no sorry I mean't the red linear switch, both are optical but the linear switch is typically more expensive. https://www.razer.com/razer-optical-switch. They do have a mechanical orange but there are two optical switches, Purple clicky and Red Linear.
I went to JB months ago to try out all their switches, purple ended up being my fave. Not as loud and clacky as the green, but not as 'soft' or dull as the orange n yellow. Red completely had its own feel, but purple was in between green and orange which was what I was looking for.
Problematic? DEFINITELY, but the potential attacker has to be physically in front of my PC which is not something I will worry about. As much as I despise Razer for its mediocre quality products and Synapse, I own a couple of their products due to, dare I say, affordable prices. But $199 for this, it is hard to recommend. Get something like the Apex 7 or even this deal
Not really high-end, the razer purples are pretty bad in terms of mechs. Compared to membrane it's a significant improvement though, I guess if you're really into razer gamer gear or something…

Just so everyone's aware, this appears to be only the purple clicky switch as opposed to the typically more expensive orange linear switch. Something to consider.
