An excellent price for a very high quality orbital sander. Tool only so suits those who are already invested in Dewalt batteries.

I paid $202.46 for this using a Bunnings price beat earlier in the year, and thought I had got a great price. This is even better. It usually retails for between $240 and $250.

I have been really happy with this unit for sanding furniture etc at home. You can buy cheap generic sanding pads for it from Bunnings.

    It was 100 earlier

  • This is 20 v

    • +1

      18v / 20v batteries are identical except for the branding. Marketing.

    • +1

      20V is USA version, 18V is Aussie Version, same thing.

      • 60v American DeWalt tools are so much better than 54v here. Ha Ha

  • Bunnings is 18 v

    • Flexvolt. Doesn't matter.

      • +2

        Flexvolt = Switching between 18V <-> 54V
        Marketing = USA 20V <-> Australian 18V, 20V is peak voltage

        • Thanks. I knew it didnt matter anyway because of flexvolt but didnt realise they were actually the same but appeared to be different due to marketing.

        • People still confused with 18v and 20v 🤦🏻

  • Tempting if I had any Dewalt products, but if I buy it then it means I cannot put off sanding back my decking.

    I believe my Milwaukee batteries may fit this, but potentially not willing to take the chance in case it doesn't.

    • Battery Adapters are cheap enough

      • I bought a $20 adapter recently which converts Dewalt & Milwaukee batteries to Makita tools because I wanted to try some of the cheap knock-off Makita tools, it works fine… I believe Dewalt & Milwaukee are not compatible with each other but they're close enough that the adapter has been made to suit both…

        (that listing doesn't mention Milwaukee but others for the same adapter do)

        A quick look on ebay it appears a Milwaukee battery to Dewalt tool adapters start at around $27…

  • ohhhhh TEMPTING.

  • Any deals on the milwaukee version?

  • Oh by the way, buying this product off from Amazon will NOT guarantee of Australia warranty.

    Been using this sand from the last deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/633037 and its an amazing sander :) even though I have quite a few sanders already lol

  • Is it worth investing in this and a few other Dewalt tools (like their trim router) if I'm planning on investing in a Makita drill and impact driver set soon as well? I wonder if I can use the Dewalt 18V batteries in the Makita 18V tools and vice versa with adapters?

  • Yes you can but only 18V battery type. Don't use 54V.
