      You're doing the lord's work.

This is under $25 worth of supermarket jerky

Hi jv, thanks for bringing this to our attention! We have corrected :)

        Wow… That's expensive

  • +2

I think I'm done with jerky not because of the fiasco lately, but for its insanely high levels of sodium

    • +2

why so salty? Oh yes the sodium.. carry on.

    • +1

Not all jerky is equal. Some manufacturers use less sodium. Sadly, I don't see nutritional information on this one.

    • It was indeed very salty

      • thats what she said….

      What was the fiasco?

Edit: BuyAssuieNow and Doctor's Proctors deal from over a month ago. B+ Drama. Twist at end was great; it's all made for them by another company anyway. Glad I've stuck with my normal Jerky supply :-)

  • Is this jerky significantly better than the $1.99 for 50g aldi stuff? I think they're usually $2.99 but are reduced atm.
I'm far from a connoisseur but I buy a bag here and there.
Seems pretty expensive? Just interested to know if people really notice the difference, a friend had a bag of premium biltong he bought through his butcher and I honestly preferred the cheap stuff from the supermarket lol maybe I just don't have the nuanced palate (I think I spelled that correctly) needed.

Gave it a try last week and IMHO the Aldi stuff is very ordinary - bottom shelf supermarket quality.

  • Oh it's just supermarket jerky

  • Meh this stuff is basically the same as jack links rubberry sugary stuff

  • Heck Yeah - Can't go wrong with an easy gift delivered. Old man will be happy. Cheers

  • local african shops get ~ 500g of the best biltong for about 30. why not put in the effort and get the quality stuff for the same price

  • Grabbed a few packs of these. Agree with other comments that their taste is pretty meh which I'm pretty shattered about.
Tried one from Aldi directly for comparison, and was more or less the same.
Tried Wagu within the pack, and while it had good texture, was somewhat moist, there was no meat flavour.
Just a chewy substance that looked remotely like dark red jelly?
It's made out of 97% Aussie ingredients, I wonder what percentage is actually meat?
