I hate the new zip logo :c

    • +18

      What's wrong with ZÖP? ;)

      • I prefer yours with the two eyes looking over the O. They definitely missed a chance to rebrand as ZOP :P

      • +2

        ZȮP, just one dot

      • Zip zop zap?

        • Zop, zap, zip. Nice slogan actually :)

        • Rhymes with zlip zlop zlap!

      • The one dot signify the zip.

    • +23

When your expensive rebrand looks like a year 10 graphic design project. Sometimes things are best left alone.

      • +1

besides the colors the old logo was better

    • +11

Yeah.. Not sure what they were thinking. It looks stupid.

    • Third logo now too. Like come on.

    • No wonder share prices don't increase

    • -1

Patience mate it'll grow on you, funny how the herd is quick to hate on anything new!

      • We aren't hating on it because its new, its because its bad.

    • +3

Haha same, when ZipCo emailed us at work forcing us to make changes to our Zip imagery on our website we thought it was a spam/phishing email at first, that's how trash the rebrand is.

      • -1

Haha herd mentality. I personally like it, but noone agrees with me here on ozb. It is what it is.

  • Thanks Op. Can it be used to buy gift cards?

    • +2

You cannot use Zip to purchase JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards or digital products like Microsoft 365 or Playstation store credits.

      • Thanks, will probably have to buy a few video games then. 😩

      • Add the card to Google Play or Apple pay. I'm pretty sure they can't know what you buy.

        • only qualified if use zip QR code I believe.

          • @ssn654318369: Yeah last time it also said that on the target and jb spend $100 get $20 promos. i used Google pay to get cashback both times.

        • Or if using Zip Pay, generate and use the one-time use card?

          • +4

@ilovefullprice: Confirming the ZIP "Single-use card" still works for the $30 reward.

I got a phone price match to buy a laptop and you get given link to buy via https://direct.jbhifi.com.au/

The "Direct JB Hi Fi" website only accepts: JB gift cards / CC / Paypal

I was also worried, the "Direct JB Hi Fi" website might not be in the terms of the deal but all good!

Did the purchase via PC/Website, but could only accept/apply the $30 reward via the mobile app after the order was made.

            • @D1Vad: I made a purchase today Instore and it hasn’t worked. Where in the rewards section do you manually apply it?

              • @Shadowar: Zip app > Home tab > Zip rewards

First time you do it, seems like your opting in. But i made my order before opting in and my $30 reward still worked. On my account i think it took awhile to show (ordered at night, was there in morning), unless i didnt know where to look. Wife's account we just checked back in morning.

Once opted in you will see it there to "claim" to account.

            • +2

@D1Vad: GC with the "Single-use card" works. cheers!
And redeemed the $30 right after.

              • @wekimekigugudan: is it single use card from the zip app, not Google pay, right?

      • Where does it say this? I can only see the short T&Cs that OP posted

      • If use safari, can check out by Apple Pay. Is Apple Pay gonna work?

        • +3

It’s working. Just used Safari and Apple Pay to buy $150 gift card. Got the reward instantly.

          • @rhyme324: Did you choose digit delivery or collect from somewhere?

        • Am I misreading that comment? i.e. they might reverse the $30 bonus?

      • Source?

    • +3

Bought gift card last time. Never received credit

      • Online or instore?

      • +1

Used g pay instore and apple pay online. Get both credit no problem.

    • +1

Use it to buy a PS5 or something then sell it on for RRP

  • +1

$266 after cb for AirPod pros. Not bad.

  • Didn't see this until I finished Xbox preorder. I am blind

  • Can be used to preorder PS5 games?

Edit: Spent $158 on PS5 games and being charged the full amount.

    • +3

It’s $30 cash back towards rewards goal, not a $30 discount.

  • +1

anyone investing in z1p shares lol…

  • Is it going to be $30 per $150 spent so if I spend $1500, will I get $300 back?

    • Once only and not multiplicative

    • hmmmmm…. +1 vote!

  • +1

Can you elaborate more on the $30 cashback? From quickly ready the Ts&Cs this goes towards your 'rewards goal' and you can redeem it once you have reached that goal (whatever it is - I'm not familiar with Zip)? Important thing is you don't get $30 back in your bank account?

    • If you spend exactly $150 your payment to zip is only $120.

      • I'm reading this and doesn't sounds like it's the same thing:

Edit: ok that's what you posted above as well. Still it doesn't read to me like you only pay $120 when spending $150. Unless I'm missing something.

        • +2

Ohh right. So when they had 10% on certain purchases late last year you needed a certain amount ($30) before your bill could be reduced. I'm guessing it's similar to that.

Looking at the app there's cashback for a variety of stores so you need to accrue over $30 in the rewards balance before claiming the credit. I can't remember if it's $30 minimum or in chunks.

Let me know if I'm not clear.

          • +1

@Caped Baldy: So the rewards goal is $30 and you'd be able to claim this credit in the same transaction (if you spend $150 or more)?

  • Omg just bought a blender yesterday :(

    • Return and rebuy via zip?

  • +3

ha, used zip in a rush to buy the halo infinite xbox. hopped on ozb and saw this post, opened up my app and $30 was sitting in my rewards balance.

  • +4

It may also be worth noting for new customers that Zip does credit checks.

  • +1

i don't want to miss this deal, what can i buy for $150.

    • +3

      Anything that you actually need.

    • I got 2 sets of these LIFX bulbs https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lifx-colour-a60-1000lm-e2… which comes to $158 click and collect

Efficient: LEDs last ~22.8 years. Save the earth, and your wallet.

What's the chance your WiFi can still connect to them in 20 years? I doubt we will even be calling it WiFi :)

        • +4

Well, wifi is 23 years old already and up to version 6 so… pretty high?

          • @WhyAmICommenting: Ha… Ha (my reaction in real life after reading your comment, not a sarcastic one)

      • Wouldn't this be better?: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lifx-colour-a60-1200lm-e2…

        Slightly brighter.

    • Sound bar!

    • Buy gift card. if it does not work online, just buy it instore using google pay/apple pay to tap.

      • someone here said you have to use single use card? is it right?

        • Not HAVE, you CAN.
you can either buy instore, no need to mention zip, tap and go (apple pay or Google pay)
Or if you prefer online, apple pay or single use card both work on JB's website. Just remind you have to use safari to be able to see apple pay payment option.

          • @ce5himm: thanks for that. zip also offers to make extra payment to go in a draw to win 5k. do you know if there is a minimum for extra payment?

            • @amorn: I don't even bother to check that, I don't think I am that kind of lucky person to WIN 5K.

  • +1

Pay full amount with Zip (ie through a single pay card, Apple Pay, etc) and you’ll get the $30 instantly in your rewards.

    • can we do this through online?

    • Is the 30 used to offset the repayment? So if I purchase an item for 150, only pay 120?

      • +2

No. To get it to work, I had to pay in full using Zip, then manually claim the reward using the Rewards section of the Zip app on my phone. Then I was prompted whether to add the $30 to my ZIP money or Zip Pay. There were no prompts to do this, I had to go looking. According to the T&C, the rewards program may not be available for Zip Money, so maybe stick with Pay to be sure it works: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0024/9803/5810/files/Zip_R…

        • After it added 30 to your zip money, does that mean you will pay 30 less in your total repayment? It does not work with stacking the gift card?

        • I made a purchase today Instore and it hasn’t worked. Where in the rewards section do you manually apply it?

  • will this work with their corporate store?

  • Is it 6mth interest-free on Zip or 12 at JB??

  • So can't do any price matching? (Mentions zip not available over the phone)

Also could you make payment with credit card? Can't remember if it was treated as cash advance or not

    • someone replied in the comments that they were able to use the zip one time generated credit card to pay and did get the cashback (as the price match link only accepts cards and gift card)

      • would it apply if I pay via zip card on Google pay to buy gift card?

  • How does the reward work? I redeemed it, but it just gets added to my avaialble spend? I thought it was like a cashback, direct credit to bank?

    • Unless otherwise stated, the Rewards Target can only be redeemed as credit to your Zip Pay account which will reduce your Outstanding Balance. You will not be able to withdraw the credit from your Zip Account or convert it to cash.

      • I must have done it wrong as I paid the full balance then redeemed the $30 reward, and it was just added to my available spend :/

Very confusing and not clear at all

        • +1

This is how it works. It gets added to ur available balance so then at the end once bill is generated u pay $120 to zip instead on $150…. But u got the $150 item from jb hi fi. Hope this clarifies.

          • @Tems: Thanks. Yeah.. I stuffed it up. Long time since I have used Zip and found it very confusing. Rewards section is not clear on the website either, app is much better. Damn..

        • Sounds like you got it?
