I doubt many Ozbargainers would have much use for this…

    • +1

Why is that? Lots of people have young kids or know people with them. I just forwarded the deal to two of my sisters.

just about everyone i know with kids now has about 4 years of free access…

        • except we just lost that 4 years - we're getting emails from reading eggs saying it was an error, and resetting our accounts so the free access expires immediately…!

        • -1

          my accounts are still fine…

        • and so were mine until earlier today…!

  • A lot of peoples "coupon enhanced" trial periods have been cut short .

    • I just got an email saying my free trial period (it was up to 3.5 years I think) has been cut short to expire tomorrow. May have to actually pay these guys for the account now. At least about $25 AUD is better then the $80 AUD that they are asking via the site. It even looks like the full US price is cheaper than ours (again).

  • Will these codes be valid in Australia?

  • Is this voucher and code confirmed working on readineggs.com.au though? Looks a bit sus in that you have to email some dude @readineggs.com your voucher and they will send you a code.

    • i have the same question - but if you go to www.readingeggs.com, it redirects to the australian website, so that's a good sign!

      • that is what I thought when I posted the deal.

  • Tried to put the code directly to purchase in www.readingegss.com, didn't work.

You could go to halfoffdepot.com, click on the buy link and put the code there. It will substract 10$ from the bill. However, I am not sure I want to pay halfoffdepot.com to get a voucher, then send some dude @readingeggs to get a new code

  • The leap29 code appears to be only valid for the 2 year subscription and it reduces the price from $99 to $81.18 which is an 18% discount.

    1 year sub is $79.95, 6 month is $59.95.

Code doesn't work on 1 year sub or 6 month sub.

    • The code worked for me. I bought 2x 1 year subs for USD$52.54 total.

Now I just have to hope the actual voucher codes come through this cumbersome email process ok.

  • Hmm, didn't seem to accept my credit card payment. I tried two different cards both times I got the following error:

Gateway error: The transaction has been declined because of an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.

Grrr so frustrating that they don't provide paypal as an option.

    • Hi Bernie_G, I got the same error as you, which is unfortunate as I am sure my kids would have loved it.

Did you eventually manage to get it to process correctly and allow you to get your code?

  • I've been looking at getting Reading Eggs for one of my children as I have heard lots of good things about it.

If anyone manages to go through 'halfoffdepot.com' and finally get's a code from the 'readingeggs.com' guy can you please post here and let us know.

If the code works on the readingeggs.com.au site then I will definitely be subscribing, via the halfoffdepot.com route of course.

    Many thanks.

    • you get about 2 weeks free when you set up an account, so try before you buy…

      • I hear what you are saying, but as I have seen the program in use by other kids I am happy to go ahead with it if I can get a "deal" on the current subscription.

        • It is working - but took emails back and forth to get working.

Buy from the US at your own (sanity) risk…

  • I got my codes emailed back, but they don't work… "code cannot be redeemed"

I'm throwing down a neg just so people are made aware. Will remove it once this is sorted.

    • sorry stumo - i'm in the same boat and don't think others should have to go through the email discussions in order to get the deal working.

I thought it may be because the 1yr sub looks like a promo code and my account has already had (a few!) more than two promo codes redeemed against it, but it seems that the US and AU codes are different systems (i.e. a US code account be redeemed against a AU account)

At worst, I'm imagining I'll have to create a new account at readingeggs.com (via a us proxy so it doesn't redirect to .com.au), since they say once you have an account it can be logged on from any reading eggs site.

Update: the kind staff at readingeggs.com.au have sorted this out for me and applied the 1yr sub to my account.

      • Glad you got yours sorted. I've just fired off an email so hopefully they can sort mine too. Otherwise there is always the Visa chargeback but hopefully it won't come to that.

      • Update: the kind staff at readingeggs.com.au have sorted this out for me and applied the 1yr sub to my account.

Have you got a contact at .com.au? I'm not getting anywhere with this. My concern is that they will retrospectively change the rules again.

        • [email protected] fixed it for me

        • Thanks yeah, it turns out the original US contact for the voucher/codes @readingeggs sorted it for me. 2yrs for 50 bux, I can live with that, though 4 years for free was way better lol..
