Nintendo 3DS $198 at EB Games

300

Saw that all 3DS consoles are $198 today while I was at EB Games. Not sure if that's just for today or when it expires, but seems to be the best price around at the moment.

Seems to be both online and in store.

That's a pretty common price for the 3DS. I mean, it's probably rare for EB Games, since they love selling everything at full RRP, but there's almost always somebody selling the 3DS for just below $200.

They've been $168 at Costco for a while. Pink and Blue.

    • To be fair though, that does require a membership.

And being near a Costco store. My nearest one is 800km away, yet EB Games is just 5km.

      • No idea why someone would mod down a comment about Costco being far away from most people. There are only three stores to cover all of Australia. None in WA/SA/NT/QLD/TAS. EB Games is going to be far easier for more people to access. EB Games has dozens of stores in those states. And online ordering is supported.

Love how this handheld is still flopping; I can get it much sooner than expected. :D

They really need a Pokemon game, don't they.

    • +4

… But it's not flopping at all. It's the fastest selling video game console in Australian history.

      • It took a couple of Mario/Zelda games to to that though

        • So? It's Nintendo.

        • No need to make my point for me, I already made it :)

    • Agrees with a new Pokemon game. Was sad to see the announcement of Pokemon Black/White 2 for the normal DS still :(

Maybe the next one will be Pokemon Black/White "3"D ;)

Pokemon snap AR, useses the cameras and shit to put Pokemon in the real world

      • +3

Pokemon Snap 2 needs to be made, then I will buy one :D

      • I still play Pokemon Snap. Definitely needs an update… AR Pokemon Snap would be sooooo sweet.

    • Not flopping at all, it's selling way more than any other gaming platform.
Have a look at VGChartz.com, the 3DS is literally the top selling gaming system of 2011. (and it's still selling more than ever.)

    Are you guys serious?

16 votes… for this? There was 3 shops that had this cheaper recently, and I wasn't even looking. You would almost have to look to find it more expensive.

Traded in my 3ds to eb for $141.

For a place with such a nasty rep for ripping off people; they sure gave me a great deal.

    • +1

I don't know why, but I always seem to find the cheapest deals at my local HN store in Fountain Gate.

I boil it down to the fact that they rip off people so much, so frequently, that when the time for sales come, they can afford to literally 'throw away' their items… at least that is what I found to be the case.

Just the other day, I got CRACKDOWN 2 for $15, and Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days for $10, both for the xbox360.

And back when the PS2 was all the rage, I remember buying Onimusha 3 when it was a new release, I think it was, for $5 or something. It didn't have its original cover! Whoopdeedoodah!

  • Got to be mad to buy this vs a PS Vita.

    • -1

The Vita is more expensive and the games are more expensive. It's like comparing buying a boiled egg to a gourmet omelette.

Plus, IMO the 3/DS has better games overall, I won a PSP and I couldn't find one game to catch my attention.

      • Guess you like your wii more than the PS3

        • +1

I like my PS3 better than my Wii. I like my 3DS better than my PSP.
Ones a handheld, the other is a full console. You can't really make comparisons like that.

Ugh, let's not start this console war BS. Grow up. They're both good consoles, just pick whichever one has the games you want (or even better, get both).
