Wouldn't that be nice, an overseas holiday in December.

  • I'd love to be able to go anywhere at the moment.

It would also be nice if there were decent Accor hotels that were open to the public now. Most of the nicer ones are now used as quarantine hotels. And of the ones that are still open, the majority have had their standards drop heavily.

I'm a diamond Accor member that has barely stayed in any Accor hotels since the pandemic started. I've gone completely to Hilton and Rydges, since their standards are still good.

    • The nicest Accor property in Australia one will likely be the new Sofitel opening in Adelaide in October, but rates are $400+ a night!

      • 400 is a bit ridiculous during the pandemic. Their occupancy will be low.

Before lockdown I was staying at the Hilton for ~200 a night. The Intercon was maybe $220. Skycity was 300-350 usually. The Oval was about 200 as well

Not sure how they can justify 400+ a night when Skycity is approx 100 cheaper.

        • It's $400 because of the amount of money they put into it - it looks very very high end.. just odd that they thought Adelaide was the best place for such a high end property. Rates are sitting at an INSANE $700 per night now.

  • Hmm I just had Accor call me up to offer Accor Plus membership for $300.
