The Galaxy Note is arriving Australia soon. Optus and VirginMobie is releasing cap plan in mid March.

Check with your local dealers, e.g. Allphones. Or go straight to Optus Shop to confirm it. I have done it and yes the timetable is 15th March.
May as well buy the phone for that price and either sign up with liveconnected or tpg, or red bull mobile if you make a LOT of calls.
it will work out a lot cheaper. i'd say the note will only be available on the higher end plans, and prob still require a co payment initially.
