I thought for a second that Big W is now selling fruit and Veges.

      Same thought as yours :)

  • wow, your prices are really good!
you opening a store in melbourne!?!

    • Hahah would love to venture down to Melbourne but no plans for expansion just yet ;)

      • Come to Sydney. If your prices were 33% more expensive it would still be cheaper than any other sydney prices. obviously excluding the markets.

  • Some of those prices are insane. Can anyone here provide an objective review of the sort of quality to expect?

    • The reason we can provide such cheap produce is that for some lines we buy 'Grade 2' stock rather than 'Grade 1'. This does not necessarily mean that it is of inferior quality, the majority of the time the only difference between grades is simply size and shape. Woolies and Coles always have Grade 1 produce as it is their policy to reject stock that is not uniform in size, shape and colour. For example, some of our Grade 2 sweet potato is giant, some tiny but the actual quality is still the same as Grade 1. Hope that clears things up :)

    • It's a nice little shop, the produce is good, except maybe the mangos that sit out in the sun all day and wilt. It is literally just around the corner (~2 minutes walk) from my place, and I stop by when I have cash, which is never at the moment, but definitely prefer to shop there than coles/woolworths, so quality is the same if not better, in some cases, than the big stores.

+1 Good to see a small business promoting genuine bargains without sockpuppeting.

  • please add location to title. I get sad when I click this and find its 1500km away.

    • "Tweed Discount Fruit & Veg" I'd say that means it is in Tweed :)
