    Challenger D:

I'd wait a little for a different AIB. I haven't found any reviews on the Challenger D but if it's anything like last year it would be horrible.

    • How's your Qick?

Runs really well now after swapping motherboards. It peaked 83c junction in TimeSpy undervolted 1130 at 1500rpm which I can't hear over my case fans (though they are cheap and nasty) and it hovers mid 70s in Valley. Core is pretty much always low 60s under any load and idle is 36.

Edit: Also started casually mining with it and it does 47MH/s with 2150 mem clock at 110W. Stays 60 for GDDR6, core and hotspot.

Solid $3.5/day. Minus any capital gains. Payback…eventually.

          • @incipient: It's around $4.5-$5 for me.

            • @Void: What are you mining with? I've just started dabbling a little, using nicehash with my 1070. Mostly just for the novelty of it at the moment.

@Domingo: I'm using NiceHash and am pretty new too. I use SRBMiner with DaggerHashimoto algorithm but I'm using an AMD card so there's probably a better option for you. I'd just install all the plugins and benchmark and use the most profitable one.

                • @Void: Oh cool, I didn't realise that was even an option (haven't spent enough time clicking through it all yet).

I'm using Excavator with DaggerHashimoto as well. Just did an optimise which dropped my speed slightly, but increased by efficiency proportionally by more so might stick with that for a while. I'll give your suggestion of benchmarking a go, thanks!

@Domingo: I'd also suggest underclock the core with Afterburner as well for mining if you haven't already to further increase efficiency. I dropped 40W with no performance regression at half the original clock speed.

Supply of RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti cards might drop heavily in the next month, but then swiftly recover

I'm happy to wait a few mo if it means avoiding these dumb prices…

Nah, I will keep waiting, not going top listen to rumor.
I have my Xbox Series X to keep me going while waiting, if I have to wait for another month, or 3 months or 6months, so be it.

Rather wait for a XFX QICK to go on sale again.

  • For my ITX case application, I got the Phantom Gaming D version for another $110, it's a very quiet and cool running card, if that's worth something.

I had a 5700xt Challenger D and that was a very loud and hot card, never again!

  • Shows $1199 now.
