[Backorder] LG C1 65" 4K HDR OLED TV $3099 Delivered @ Powerland

370

For anyone else that missed the previous deals and doesn't know if there will be a better one (or available one) within the next fortnight. I spoke to the rep using the chat who said he expects I'll receive it in "1-2 weeks" and that I'll be refunded if I want to cancel because I find it's available elsewhere before they receive their shipment.

  • How are you suppose to put a soundbar across the bottom of these Tv's if sitting on a cabinet?

    • it blocks off the bottom of the TV, but it isn't a big deal. I have a samsung q950a and its hardly noticable after awhile

      • +3

        So you have a 63" TV ;)

      • What are your thoughts on the q950a? I've been researching soundbars for over 2 months now. This soundbar is consistently rated high but websites and videos but I'm not a fan of the display on top…

        • its good for the price (assuming you get it between $1k - $1.3k). Bass is good and I don't turn it on full (+4 out of +6 bass levell) as I live in an apartment.

I don't have any cats or other things that will dirty the cloth so its no big issue for me.

I was tossing up between, the new LG 7.1.1, JBL 9.1 and this. Glad I got this

          • @OZcheepsk8: Great to know. I'm tossing up in between q950a, LG sn11rg, YSP 5600 and Klipsch 1200. But I'd like to spend about $1500 at the most. How's the music quality via the soundbar? Like for Spotify etc.

            • @dealsforlife: quality is great for movies and for music, we use it often. I bought the Soundbar for $1270ish via GGC (standard price), no regrets

              • @OZcheepsk8: Thanks for that. Do you know where I could get access to GGC? if I decide to go with q950a? Cheers!

          • @OZcheepsk8: how did you manage to set up the dobly atmos to the soundbar? i cant tell the difference with mine :/

            • +1

@M4N6K1: depends on your layout, but mine being a small apartment, I needed to lower volume on central speakers and increase output on rear satellite speakers. Dolby really depends on the content, I feel like on many shows you don't use the full potential except on Netflix

            • +2

@M4N6K1: Try The Tomorrow War on Prime if you have it. Good atmos soundtrack.

I bought a piece of wood from Bunnings to raise the TV.
It's a design flaw though in my opinion. LG should know people are running soundbars in front of screens and raise them higher.

      • +1

This is what I did too haha.
Block of wood cut into 3, then wrapped in anti slip mat with TV on top

      • +1

Yeah I did the exact same thing and just cut the wood in half so I could run the sound bar cables through the gap between the two pieces of wood.

      Wall mount 😂

      • nah 65" too small for that

        • Looks great on my lounge wall, 85 tends to overtake a room and that's great for a media room etc but normal lounge plenty… Unless you have a huge lounge

          • @quikstix: maybe next tv will do that with a 75"

        • +1

Depends on the space/distance. My C6 65 is perfect wall mounted

    • +1

I have the LG C1, and the LG SP9YA, the bottom of the screen is ever so slightly obscured.

I got an IKEA LACK shelf to prop it up on after talking to a friend, and seeing it was a common fix on reddit. For reference: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/lack-wall-shelf-white-stained-o…

The other option I saw suggested, was a VESA stand (not wall mount) for the TV, but thought that was a bit overkill for my setup.

      Hope that helps!

A tv of this type deserves a full-blown home theatre setup, not a soundbar.

      • Sonos playbar/sub and 2 x play 1's is what I am using now, play bar is prefect height for my Sony x90.

    • We have the 55 inch LG from the previous model. We got some “seconds” shelves from IKEA to sit the TV on. This brought it up high enough for us to put our speaker at the front.

    • no shelves underneath?

    • Go to Bunnings or Ikea and buy a wooden plank shelf platform. Chuck the TV on that. Bam. Soundbar is now the perfect height and does not block the screen

  • Hmm pull the trigger now or wait till black friday deals? This was 3k on Ebay a week or two ago. I wonder if it gets down to $2700-2800 in a few months

    • I'm wondering the same thing

  • Is WebOS Fast and Fluid or does it eventually get slow and Clunky ?

    • it's already slow when I buy my brand new C1. Got the Sony last gen running Android OS, much snappier. I ended up hooking mine up with Shield

  • I've had my order sitting at Powerland since the 20th @ $3379, hasn't been fulfilled yet and they're not fantastic at responding via email. I've reached out to see if they'll match their own price.

    • Maybe say you would like to cancel if they don't price match. Should threaten them enough to help you out

      • Called them and got an answer quickly, refunding the difference and keeping the order. Looks like their online guys via email are just loaded up at the moment!

I have an order with JB HI FI since the 15th of July still waiting for stock for the LG 65 C1.

Apparently tomorrow JB is expecting stock tomorrow.

To add insult to injury they have had the TV on special for better prices since I ordered it!
They have offered to cancel the order but I'm guessing Id go to the back of the que for delivery.

      • +2

pretty good case for a price adjustment on current order there which they should be willing to do.

  • Are these grey market or can be priced match eg JB?

    • generally price match conditions are the store needs to have the item in stock

  • +2

Are they authorized reseller? If not then LG won't repair it. It happened to me.

    • ACCC?

      • I took them to Fair Trading NSW and as a courtesy they fixed it however Fair Trading NSW told me that they have a right to not to fix it if the product is not bought from authorized reseller

        • Sounds scary if you can't get a 3k tv fixed under warranty. I'd want to check this too

@wrx5: Myer sell these TVs too and they're not on the reseller list, and I find it impossible to believe LG won't repair a TV bought from Myer.

              • +1

@BradH13: That was my argument. I bought mine in 2017 online and I said it is original LG product. Who cares who sells it as long as I have an invoice. They refused it then I raised it with Fair Trading. It got escalated etc… At the end my TV got fixed but as a "courtesy". Wasn't really straight forward.

Myer, David Jones… These are well known companies. I don't think there will be a problem and I don't think LG's website lists all authorized resellers. However, if you buy from an less-known online store then be ready for my experience.

                • @wrx5: Why didn't you demand a remedy of your choosing from the seller?

LG is correct in saying it was a 'courtesy', as consumer law doesn't require them to repair, replace or refund.

You can approach the manufacturer or importer directly, however, you will only be entitled to recover costs from them … You cannot demand a repair, replacement or refund from the manufacturer.

                • @wrx5: That’s ridiculous. What could the justification for that be?

    • I also what like to know are these powerland guys okay to buy from? eg not grey

  • it shows $3,199 right now?

    • dam got jacked

    • yeah it has changed

If a 65 is this price a 77 has no business being over 5k
