Boost MMS service is not working for new plans as well as they have reduce some of the countries from free unlimited international call.

  • It's a shame that they discontinue the 150 dollars plan. it was so cheap and affordable especially given the international call values.

Just had a look. $150 recharge is still there, for recharge only

      • It's being taken away, I got the same email

      • Only til the 16th of September

        • Yep, you can still recharge.

    • It's easy to port out and port in back to boost … Various sellers still sell a $200 starter pack for around $150 …

    • I just recharged with the $150 the other week. Seems to be there if you were on it for your previous recharge

  • Is this targeted?

    • yes, to existing Boosties, for their recharge
      previous discussion

      • Thanks. I am existing subscriber but didn't receive email. I'm in 200 plan.

    • Live chat ask nicely might get

  • Was just looking today for new sim… gotta port soon and in the market for a 1 yr plan.

would be great if 1 year, $200 plan gets discounted for new customers?

  • I only got $30 off. :(

  • Have you guys been getting the email? I got one 17th august never took much notice of it or know what it's all about.
I scrolled down the email and it said to look out for this offer coming in my email. It says there be $50 off $200 plan.
As i get a lot of emails im forever deleting emails and am wondering did i bin the next email from boost.

Im a current boost customer with the anytime plus $150 plan which I'm using now it was my last recharge of this plan i can do as it's being deleted.

My plan ends close to end of dec and obviously i be looking for something similar to what i had.

So what do they mean $150 when $50 off first recharge applies?

The anytime plan had 25 destinations this new plan has 20 what countries are these 20?

So if this email is incoming or i may have deleted it what did it say as only got one im sure so far saying changes and will be $50 off.

So say when my current plan is due to expire in about 4 months are we paying $200 or $150 for it?

Wife is on same anytime plan and most likely will be offered same.

Just need to know more info and is this deal limited for certain time or current for now till 12 months time as im 4 months away to update my plan.
    Thanks

    • The way I read the email, it has a switch over date to the new plan. If that date is before your current plan ends, your plan will still end on the same date but you have the different inclusions. That’s just my interpretation.

I did see this futher down the email so looks like i be under the new plan but my old plan still active should hope so as 4 months left on it.
    Here is what it said.

Your update to the latest Boost Mobile Prepaid plan will happen automatically from 21 September.

If you have an active recharge at the time of this update, we'll convert it across to your new plan. We'll be in touch with more information about this soon.

Until then, your current inclusions will not change and you can keep using your service as usual.

Im taking we are being offered a new plan which costs $200 for $150 one off and then next time it will be $200 thereafter.
I be happy to take this new offer at $150 but $200 from there on im not so sure.

    • Mine says the update will happen on 10 September.

  • My father also got this email.. Issue is, he isn't due to recharge until February next year. If he recharges now, I think it means he'll forfeit his remaining months he has till February and this recharge will start from now (we'll that's what happened when he recharged back last February anyway - we weren't happy). Customer service promised to fix it up, but they never did after multiple times contacting them.
Can anyone confirm if you do forfeit the remaiming?

    • Fairly sure it’ll just switch from old inclusions to new inclusions on the date in his email no matter when his expiry is. Will keep same expiration

      • That's what I also thought.. But I meant if he recharged today, it would mean it would expire 6/9/22 and not 20/2/23 (a year from his current credit expiry). The new recharge overites the expiry date I think

  • You will get another email close to expiry. When you recharge then you should get the discount.

This isn't a deal. They added more data (I have home internet, why would I need that much data?) and took away numerous other things that I actually care about (mms, reduced international call and text locations and I'm pretty sure they had more txt/calls to certain places too) and just this once it's the price of my old plan, which I had never payed as I signed up with a deal and then received offers each time I needed to recharge.

Also its being forced so not a deal.

  • Boost taking away MMS for locals or international? Please advise.

    • We dealers got email confirmed MMS removed from international, but they haven't say anything about local MMS, which some customers reports doesn't work anymore.

We sent email asked boost whether local MMS is there, however, they seems not sure either.

Comparing Both Boost and Telstra long term plan's Critical information statement (CIS):
Boost says unlimited Calls + Text to Standand Australia numbers
while Telstra clearly says it included MMS ( Calls + Text + MMS )

We sell both boost 200 and 300 sims at very Competitive price for a while.
So you can confidently assume what I am telling you is true.

I'm really confused about this. My plan expires on 10/09, and I've been getting these messages. But I don't yet have the $50 off voucher.

If I got to the app right now, I can still recharge with the $150 plan with the old 80 gb data. Should I do that or should I wait until 10/09?

I'm confused what will happen on the 10/09 … will I get converted to the 'new' plan with 1 day left? I don't have auto-recharge on.

    • Get on the chat with them and ask

    • I'm in a similar boat with expiry on 14/9.
Abit confused as to what happens, did you have any luck finding out?

    • I'm in the same boat… even tried foolishly to call their helpline the other day and was put in circles with no option to speak to anyone… ever! I keep getting the email saying I'll get the offer soon, but never eventuated and mine expires tomorrow too… 10/09.

Just received this text message though if it's of any help, so thinking I'll just do the $150 recharge:
"… the update to your plan that we recently contacted you about has been postponed. We'll be in touch as soon as we have a new date. Until then, your current inclusions will not change and you can keep using your service as usual. You don't need to do anything at this time."

I only use about 40GB/year anyway so having more wouldn't necessarily have benefited me.

      • Anyone have any success with getting the email yet? I've also been asked to wait for the email and my expiry is 14/09.

      • Finally did just this - I received the postponement message and never received the $50 email. Did the recharge so I don't have to think about it for another year.

  • I also got this today?

The update to your plan that we recently contacted you about has been postponed. We'll be in touch as soon as we have a new date. Until then, your current inclusions will not change and you can keep using your service as usual. You don't need to do anything at this time.

Got a SMS on Friday reminding me from the 10th I'll be updated to the latest plan.
My current $150 / 80Gb plan expires the day after I've only used about 20Gb data over the last 12 months.
Maybe they are rethinking it for low data users.

  • So reading through the comments, no one has actually received the discount voucher yet.

    • I got a SMS linking to a voucher but my recharge wasn't due

      • Thanks for the reply.

My plan expires tomorrow night so hoping that a voucher arrives prior to that. Not holding my breath being a weekend and all, but at least we now know that they are actually being sent.

  • I received an SMS today saying my service has been successfully updated to the new Boost Mobile Prepaid Plan. I have still not received any discount voucher. When I log in to the new My Boost app which was in the SMS link its say "Coming Soon". The old app shows an error and no balance or expiry date display.

  • For those still following….

Spoke to Boost support a couple of times and the first CR suggested that there is no voucher. Should be able to recharge through the, (new), app and the discount is automagically applied.
    Unfortunately this wasnt the case.

Called back and spoke with a different CR who suggested that as long as I had the email confirming that the offer is coming, I could purchase the $200 recharge and then request a reimbursement of $50.

Good luck to anyone else who is waiting for a voucher, and getting close to expiry.

    • I'm due for a recharge in a week time. Did you manage to recharge and receive the reimbursement of $50?

I can't see the recharge option and in circles. The new app says to go to the old app and the old app show error.

      • Decided it's not worth the trouble to find out.

Would've been a different story if the AFL live pass still had access to live games, or if volte worked with my current device, but I have decided to jump ship instead.

Boost just doesn't offer the value it did just a couple of years ago.

        • Thanks for letting me know. If you dont mind can you share what plan&provider did you move to? If its worth I might jump the ship too.

          • @jubz: Was tossing up between the current deals from Kogan and Vodafone as the network is very good where I am.

Eventually decided on Vodafone for volte access on my Xiaomi handset even though it has less data. The Kogan deal is better if you prefer more data and no volte.

@sir_bazz: So many deals on year-long plan today. Lebara, Kogan, Catch, Vodafone (OW). I’m considering Optus $150 pack as they have Wifi calling (Voda doesn’t).

            • +1

@sir_bazz: Thank you for the info and sharing the details. I will evaluate and see what best suit my need as I need International calling to call family and friends.

              • +1

@jubz: I’m planning to port out to Coles 60GB plan as I need international calling as well. Normally $120, but if you can find one at $96 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/652334) even better!

                • @swanzilla: Thank you for sharing. Plan and the price looks good to what I need. Does this plan have VoLTE and WiFi calling similar to Boost mobile, any idea?

                  • +1

@jubz: No, I don’t think it does. To my understanding, VoLTE and WiFi calling are not offered on any Optus "Prepaid" MVNO, which Coles Mobile is.

                    • +1

@swanzilla: Moose Mobile has both (Optus MVNO).

@hawkeye93: Oops I stand corrected then. They must have changed this sometime last year? Anyhow I can’t find anything on the Coles Mobile website, so not quite sure now.

I need to recharge tonight! Not getting the $50.00 discount 🤦‍♀️Plan was updated the other day.

    • +1

I have the same situation. Discussed it with someone in chat and they said recharge for $200 and we will refund $50. I am not sure about that. Already we can’t speak to someone so will be hard to chase up if you don’t get refund.

      • +1

I was in similar situation. Was offered 20GB bonus data when i contacted via chat, i declined as i used only 30GB last year. Ported out to different carrier now.

        • I'm in the same boat and have decided to port out and port back in.

Boost's customer service has always been a nightmare to deal with. Last time I rang up to enquire about this $50 discount issue, the guy told me that if I didn't get the email, it means I don't get the offer. Sigh..

    • +1

Boost customer service was hopeless. Kept getting the round around.
Ported out to another provider 👍

  • Folks, I am considering to port out from Coles Mobile to Boost. Does anyone know if $150 'recharge; is still available directly via Boost or from other seller? I am aware of the new SIM starter packs available b/w $150 - 160 for Boost Sim 200. Actually I wanted to try the Boost coverage by using $30 Sim started pack (available for $10 at OW) and then recharge with 200 annual pack. CHeers
