  Apple is expected to announce new Macbook pro this month with their own much faster processor. I’d wait if possible.

    Are you sure new MBP will be announced this month? Or is it just a rumour like all those rumours posted on YouTube in the past few months which turned out to be epic fail?

      By having a look around it seems that the pro will be coming out soon. The new MacBook Pro will be offered in 14” and 16” and will also be much more expensive.
      At this stage I would probably wait if you are thinking of getting the pro (if you can wait). To see what the price would really be and perhaps previous pro will also be cheaper?

      Note that this upcoming iteration of the macbook pro is leap jumping the current ones. Same as what happened to macbook air few months back when they released with this new Apple own silicone.

    Most likely it will be a new 16 inch Macbook Pro as the current one is still running intel.
    Unlikely to affect the current M1 Macbook Pro.

  Is there a pro worth spending money on over say an M1 Air? Even with 10% off?

  I bought a used 2015 Air for $250, super smooth, fast and battery lasts the whole day…and I have probably 30 tabs open.. whoops Cant see any reason to update yet.

    Not worth it over Air for average user. But for people who use it for their graphic and processing power, yes for sure. I'm a graphic designer and Pro can handle a lot more applications as I work across different software at the same time.

    With the M1 chip the differences between the pro and the air are even more subtle.
    Basically with the Pro you get a fan (which rarely runs due to efficiency of M1) and a slightly brighter screen, and the touch bar. Everything else is the same.

    Pro has a bigger battery as well. But, benchmarks show the fan can lead it to maintaining better sustained performance. The air will throttle sooner.
