              • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Agreed, but the issue I’m facing here is it’s constantly showing a 404 Service Unavailable.

I’d like to get input from that other user whom purchased from them to see how his tracking appeared. Here’s hoping I’m just overthinking things.

                • @ZeroX03:

                  404 Service Unavailable.

                  LOL wowwww

                  What courier?

                  • @Jimothy Wongingtons: That’s from their own website, I paid for DHL. I emailed asking for a tracking number, then decided to do a bit of Googling…so yeah. Oh well, lesson learned.

Due diligence is best undertaken prior to the purchase…

Not based in Australia..hong Kong maybe?

Way too early for PayPal to get involved.

      • I knew they were HK based, but yes, I was just too eager to get a deck asap for a cheaper price.

    • Also to answer your question as posed in the OP.

Expansys does not have a good reputation here lol

      history

      • Oh boy ahaha….ahhh I’ll just wait for PayPal to figure things out. This is what I get for being impatient. Might just order direct from Valve via a forwarding service once this all clears.

    • +2

Expansys have been around for a long time and were known to be dodgy and avoided in the UK (they had an Expansys UK division back then). Many orders never arrived after weeks or months of waiting and no communication.

They don't have very good reviews in general: https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/expansys

      • My god… those reviews!!!!!

    • I literally ordered one a couple of hours before your post.

I did do some investigation before hand and saw that customer service was poor, but they did seem to follow through with orders (see here: https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.expansys.com)

There are also a few Whirlpool forums that indicate that they are real.

Can I ask how long it was between your order and the email indicating shipping?

      • Ordered last night around 11pm, shipping email today at 1pm. Here’s hoping it’s legit!

        • Thanks, I would really would appreciate it if you let me know if you get any updates on shipping or from Expansys themselves.

          • @damo3032: Likewise, I’ll keep updating this. Which model did you order?

            • @ZeroX03: Same, 64gb

              • @damo3032: I just received a response from them now via PayPal dispute. They gave me a DHL tracking number. Seems okay so far!

                • @ZeroX03: Thanks for the update. Fingers crossed!

                  • @damo3032: @ZeroX03, did you get any seperate notification from DHL? Mine has shipped from aswell, but I cannot track it. Hoping DHL send some seperate information

                    • @damo3032: I just received the email from DHL a few minutes ago. Estimated delivery date is this Friday.

                    • +1

@damo3032: I’m not going to close the PayPal dispute until the package arrives, just in case.

                    • +1

@damo3032: Hello, mine arrived today. Everything looks legit!

                      • @ZeroX03: Thanks! Hopefully mine arrives early this week. Can’t wait

  • seems like a lack of comms but if all tracking is done via DHL then it will be super fast.

  • Merged from Meranom Store - Has Anyone Ordered from Them before?

Hi, I'm looking at a Vostok Amphibia. The cheapest (but also longest delivery expected time) is the Meranom store based in Russia. Has anyone had any experience ordering from them?

    https://meranom.com/en/amphibian-classic/420/vostok-watch-am…

Also aware that you can get them from other sites like AE etc.

    Thanks in advance

    • +2

You’re really asking if you should order from some random Russian website? Really?

    • longest delivery expected time

TOFTT ..please update when you receive the order ✌️

      • Haven't ordered one, just doing some research first :)

    • +1

      Yes, however that was pre-Ukraine

    • +2

I've not bought a full watch from them, however I ordered a few parts to mod a 710634 I had back in 2021 and It took a about 6 months for the parts to arrive. I assume COVID delays played a part in it, but I imagine the current situation probably isn't going to make the wait any shorter.

Side note - if you are looking at getting a Vostok, I'd also consider a different strap or bracelet to go with it. The standard bracelets are pretty notorious for being hair pullers, but their shark mesh ones ( this one would fit the watch you've linked) are actually pretty well made and comfortable for not too much money. They can also fit other watches with the same strap width.

      • +1 for replacement strap recommendation

  • Merged from Galaxy Watch 4 44mm for 229 on catch

    https://www.catch.com.au/product/samsung-galaxy-watch4-r870-…

Can anyone confirm with me if this 44mm samsung galaxy watch 4 is legit? just seems so cheap at 229.

Just curious, as it would be a good gift for my dad on his 60th.

Also wondering if it comes with the charging cable and if its new etc.

I hope someone can help me. i appreciate it.

I did purchase some 40mm watches from samsung end of year sale at 200 each so it seems legit.

just curious if anyone has pulled the trigger.

    cheers.

    • Marketplace, sold by BuyMobile

Likely grey import, no local warranty

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/samsung-galaxy-watch4

Actually not that cheap when you look at past deals

      • its the 44mm one so its pretty good price wise.

    • Will your dad know how to use it? My dad can barely work out how to turn the TV on let alone how to use a smart watch.

    • It’s only Bluetooth. Just my view - no adult should buy bluetooth watch because it’s useless on its own.

      • +2

i think most smart watches are Bluetooth? they are good, batteries are poor, ultimately will serve its purpose at this price point! appreciate the opinion.

        • Consider the ones with sim cellular. If budget doesn’t permit, then even older version. Make more sense. Just some thoughts for you.

I can't remember when I signed up or why. I've never made a purchase through their site. Anyone else a member? It's also not listed in the Discounted eGiftcards page, yet they sell them.

    • Contact number is same as https://simplyrewards.com.au/v2/contact-us

ABN is an old one, though only having a 1300 number and no other way of contacting, I certainly wouldn't jump at ordering from them

      • Thanks for looking into that. I have never been a member of Simply Energy or their rewards scheme. Unsubbed, cheers

  • Merged from financegroupau.com.au 3.99% rates on FB

these guys offer on fb 3.99% interest rates but no further info, they literally just want all your personal details, I don’t trust them with my personal details. Cannot find anything about them on google. Has anyone used them?

    • +1

      Has anyone used them?

No, because clearly it’s a scam

      • +2

I sometimes wonder how people fall for these "too good to be true" money scams.

Then I come to Ozbargain and find out.

  • Merged from Post Office Box Rewards 4% Coles eGift Cards

Has anyone bought from Post Office Box Rewards?

    Powered by www.infiniterewards.com.au.

    Is this legit?

    • +1
    • Not bought, but I assume it's legit as I can see the link in my AusPost app.

However there's a 2% fee for credit card payment, and it says bank transfer is free but may take a week to send the voucher.

      • DD no fees but not sure anyone used it. The one for good guys rewards takes your money and never send cards

  • Merged from Is tpclaims.com.au Legit? How to Ensure Its Safe before Using Their Service

I found this website "https://tpclaims.com.au/" while trying to claim my car damage "not at fault" through other party's insurance as suggested by Bingle here

"If your car is damaged by a third party and you're not at fault, you could consider lodging a claim directly through the responsible party's insurer. This way, you'll avoid paying an excess, and your renewal premium won't be affected as a result of the claim. It can also help us to continue to offer you cheaper premiums. To lodge a claim with the responsible party's insurer, you'll need to get in touch with them."

Does anyone use their service? How to find if they are legitimate before I share my personal details to them?

    • +3

Why would you not just do it yourself?

      • +1

I never did that before reaching out to other party's insurer and I always feel that I am not good at negotiations to get all compensations. I feel it would be better result if done through professionals.

        • +3

Its not very hard. You get the claim number from the other party, get a quote on your car, give that to the insurance company. Tell them you will be having a hire car as well, they will pay for it. Nothing to negotiate unless your car is a write off.

          • +1

@brendanm: Thanks for the explanation, it seems to be the best option

Do they specialise in Toilet Paper claims?

    • +1

      tpclaims.com.au

Is this to claim if you put your fingers through toilet paper or am I getting confused here?

    • There's a of few companies that are the equivalent of "ambulance chasers", but for car insurance (property) claims, instead of personal injury. This is one of them. They'll claim through the at-fault party's insurance company and add a huge fee for their services to the final bill.

      • That sounds so true as they are not charging anything to their client. Does the other insurer liable to pay such kind of fee?

        • They usually do pay unless it's totally unreasonable. When I was an assessor before and someone hired a lawyer, the lawyer's fees formed part of the "settlement" as an additional line item. I'd expect that this "claims handling" fee would fall under the same category.

The party behind it (BeCodebox.com) try to get you to sign up to a reoccurring payment of $59 every 2 weeks…

This is what you run into if you dig a little deeper

    • If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

    • +1

Facebook do not care about scams running on it's platform.

It was posted on Thursday and immediately after they added the fake comments and pictures of "proof". Who is delivering these products, certainly not Australia Post!
