            • @Mechz: Perhaps, but then you will get another $5 credit.

Soon, you will be rich !!!

    • I've bought and it was delivered pretty fast. In about a week.

      • Thanks , can I please ask how was the quality’s did you get charged any international fees?

        • For the price, I can't complain. There's so many things though so I'm sure the quality will vary. No there were no fees. There was an opening special so it was marked down a lot. I don't remember an international fees.

    • How would it be illegal exactly?

Perhaps legit was the word OP was looking for
That or they sell sketchy stuff

        • Spot on Mate cheers

Bought stuff, arrived early, happy with the quality - same Chinese s**t as aliexpress.

Will likely use over aliexpress in future.

    • just another land fill products site

    • Website better ali, yes legit. Beware you will get addicted once try

    • previous Temp deals on Ozbargain

I've bought from there. postage takes about 1 week. delivery by Auspost.

not the range of aliexpress, but discount codes make it slightly cheaper. usually require min order of $15.

    • bought and received, great pricing when using the 30% new user code

customer service chat is also very fast and responsive, faster than Amazon with both times refunding without return

one item was very bad - flyscreen repair tape
second fake/imitation - pit viper sunglasses - was obviously fake but was curious

    • yes, bought and recieved products within a week, that small cordless vaccum is amazing

I don't know but I've just spent $30 on the website because of this post - it's new to me.

I'll see if I prefer it over Aliexpress.

    • Definitely legit. I was very sceptical with all the games on the app promising free items, but after referring 6 friends to the app in 24 hours (wasn't easy), I received a free tent and egg beater in the mail. Tent appears to be real good quality but egg beater seems pretty weak, but can't complain. Also managed to get a thermal mug for 88 cents when I was a new user

They've been banned here due to lack of business details. There still seems to be a lack of business details on their website, but the domain is registered with ABN 63054749363.

Their website has been hosted on Cloudflare for the last 5 years.

It's a little concerning that their Returns page doesn't exist and contact page is just a form with no details such as address, phone number.

In summary, buyer beware. It may be genuine as the website has been up for a while, but lack of business details / returns page means that if something goes wrong, you don't have much to go on.

      • Thanks so much. They're also selling this dog food for 0.98c,lmao. It's literally $4 and up everywhere else.

  • Merged from Is Hopper Legit?

Hi - first time here on OzBargain.

Back travelling for the first time since the pandemic and friend gave me a Hopper referral code. Initial deals look "too good to be true". $57 for 3 people at Holiday Inn Express right next to Old Trafford in Manchester including breakfast! Is this just a VC funded great deal. I'm happy if it is. Reviews on the App store show a lot of angry people who have had things go wrong and got zero customer service. Anyone had good experiences?

    • +1

      if its too good….
in this economy how are they making money
Why don't you call the holiday inn and confirm it is legit (get the number from their website)
I still can not believe that people don't have the common sense to work out whether something is legit or not.

    • Reviews on the App store show a lot of angry people who have had things go wrong and got zero customer service.

      Yes..they're truly great! ** rolls eyes **

Free Worldwide shipping on a $50 desk. I think that answers your question.

      • That's the reason I came to Ozbargain… it just a greed… :-)

I think it is a good thing to put out there. It helps people look fir the warning signs.

  • I am about to buy oil from Spareszone ebay store. Can I confirm with anyone who has bought from them that they are ok and legit?

Not so much worry about I am not getting what I purchased. More worried about getting non-genuine oil.

    Thank you.

    • Feedback is interesting

If you're wanting genuine oil, how much cheaper is eBay vs the local dealer's part department?

      • As of now, it's $30 cheaper than my local Repco.

        • Try calling the dealer too

  • Merged from Is This Website Legit? ( Trying to buy a dash cam)

    Hello all,

TL:DR : is https://www.viofo.com.au/ legit? have you bought from them? if so, can you share your experience with them?

Recent road incidents are really making me wanna buy dash cam. I've been doing a quite an research and made my decision on Viofo a139 pro. It got all the bells and whistles, and best sensor in the dash cam at the moment. Watch THIS video for daytime performance, and THIS one for HDR performance.

It seems like 2 channel configuration is priced around $470~ish . I am more of an kind of guy who buys tech stuff instead of necessities, but it seems like worthwhile investment.

So HERE is the website for VIOFO Australia. But I can't find any reviews on this guys from anywhere, and while I'm doing some research they also sell home security camera or something. Have anyone used this website to buy an dash cam? are they legit?.

    Cheers.

    • Yes.

I've dealt with them. Although I think they just run out of an apartment or something here in Australia.

If you're not convinced, you can always buy from their US site or via Amazon

      https://viofo.com/dash-cam/291-viofo-a139-pro-2ch-first-4k-h…

    • Their social media accounts aren't even linked and their About page is like IVI wrote it.

Haven't bought from them but apparently others have.

    • +1

Why not buy from one of the resellers as they are legit?

      • There are aliexpress and viofo US. Shipping times from those websites are 10 to 15 business days after dispatched. Another issue I saw with the dash cam review is warranty issue. So I thought that if these guys are legit, they can probably help me with warranty as well.

Didn't mean to start argument with my post. Just asking…

        • Seems very strange that you found a viofo.com.au reseller on aliexpress and in the US. I only spotted OZ retailers on the viofo.com.au resellers page.

    • +1

      Yeah I've bought from them.

I cant seem to find anything on these guys (reviews/conments) nothing. Their prices are decent but not scam cheap. My gut says scam for some reason. They had a good price on a viofo a139 pro.

    Edit:

I'm gonna go with fake, I found their Facebook profile and it looks full of bots:

    https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090642900171&mibe…

Fair warning these guys come up top in the google results when searching for viofo dashcams. Definitely seem suspicious.

  • Merged from UWAI Phone App and Discount

I was just told last night there is an app (or website) that they offer member discount like NIB or Suncorp etc and the discount you can get from there is pretty high. I just wonder if anyone came across this and provide me some background if you know more. I gave the whole site a search and the App/site is nowhere mentioned here and I think maybe I should at least ask. If that's against any rule, I am more than happy to remove this.

    • Considering a google search for "UWAI " nets a top result of a Chinese app for discounts, I'm going to say this one is spam…

But to have an account since 2019 and now use it for spam, well done… played the long game there!

    • I was just told last night there is an app

Yet the source had no idea what the app was called?

      • The app is called UWAI Plus but that's pretty much I know along with their website. The person tell me about it is my wife and am sure she can't remember things. But she did made it to purchase 1 $100 Target card from there a couple months back.

Look I know this thing is sus af and my account is sus af too. I had been read only because I don't need to talk to people to get deals and stuff from the OB and I don't like to interact with people because I don't want to deal with unreasonable people at some point. I ask just because i can't get the info by just reading.

For an app, going all out creating both ios and android app and keep updating it usually are very eye catching app. they will advertise everywhere you can imagine. the thing is, this app didn't do anything like that. it just unusually not popular.

I bet when you can ask me question like this, you know nothing about this thing so just forget it.

All i have been doing is just asking for more information about this app, be it bad or good, don't care. This is just the first time it is there and how the f i get more information if i can't even find out if no one talks about it. have i been selling it? i said it, too, and again, this app is very sus. but it doesn't match all spammy characters, so I ask.

and to those who reported this post spam, i don't care if you want to stay in your comfort zone or not but don't get in my way to learn new things.

        • +2

If the app was legit and contained actual bargain then other members here would know all about it.

No one has come forward so it's safe to stop researching for something that doesn't exist.

There's a difference between learning new things and if it's too good to be true then it's most like a sham.

  • Merged from Lavatech.com.au - slick scam?

Searching for a phone, lavatech.com.au came up on Google search. Website looks good. Prices aren't ridiculously cheap. No results on ozbargain - red flag. No posts on their Facebook or Instagram pages. Scam or just a new business with poor social media?

looks relatively new. could be a scam,

      • Thank you.

        • It might be a company related to MobileCiti, as the site is similar and they used their address on the Facebook

    • If it's a scam it's definitely one of the better ones. Looks like they're just starting out.

Their facebook site has an address, when I throw it in google maps it looks like it's mobileciti? They have a lot of stock for someone who's running off a sole proprietor ABN.

    • +1

The website & ABN are only 6 months old, so not long enough to gather 'trust' in my opinion.

According to their Privacy Policy, their warehouse is at 2/9 Parramatta Road, Lidcombe NSW, which is the same address as MobileCiti/Allphones Online.

According to their ASIC, Lavatech is located 15 Grenadier Ct . Runcorn QLD 4113. That's a 9.5hr drive from Runcorn to Lidcombe for a sole trader.

Dennis Wang Linkedin profile says he started as an eCommerce Manager for Mobileciti at the same time as the website/ABN was created.

If you were looking to purchase from them, my suggestion would be to contact MobileCiti/Allphones and ask them, as they would know if they are operating under a different ABN / Business name. There's a few connections here, but they could definitely be placed to look legit.

    • This site is like asking if this car is still drivable.

  • Merged from Cheap Bicycle Motors - Not Sure if Website Is Legit

    Hi,

My Dad came across this website when looking for electric motor kits for bicycles. The website is only a month old and I can’t find any reviews and no listed ABN. There are some quirks in the About Me and Terms and Conditions sections that makes me wonder if it’s legit. And also the prices are really cheap. I’m wondering if it’s too good to be true?

    Here is the link:

    https://glossi.shop/product/cyc-motor-x1-stealth-gen-3-1500w…

Anyone heard of them or had any dealings? Thoughts?

Was looking at prices on the new 151 pokemon set and these guys were a few bucks cheaper across the board. With the amount I'm looking to spend, I'd save anywhere from $50-$80 compared to other online retailers.

Their site looks fine, and they have a store front, but for whatever reason I can't help feel that something seems a little off.

Has anyone bought from them to put my mind at ease?
