You do know that's an American site, right? If the prices are too good to be true, it's probably because it's in American dollars.

Hi everyone,
I'm considering buying some stamps from https://australpost.com/ but I am seeing some red flags. There are some typos on the webpage, no reviews seem to have been left by anyone from what I can see and the prices are very competitive.
On the other hand I could be off base. The website has loads of listings with quite a bit of detail so it would be quite elaborate for a scam. Has anyone heard of this website before? Do you think I should steer clear?

Thats often a red flag.
Domain is got Domain Privacy on, so cannot see a lot of info. DNS Points to Google DNS……. most likely a dodgy domain/site. Especially being a .com.
URL is Australpost.com - note it should be Auspost.com.au. to be actually Australia Post.
Although they don't actually claim to be Australia Post they try and have you believe they are by selling their products.
Their pricing is below that of Australia Post's wholesale prices.
A scam for sure.I think it's a pretty elaborate scam as they are paying to use Shopify as their website framework.
It may be a legitimate shop considering there is no way to prove it is not - BUT the website owners would be dumb as dog shit to not want to make themselves look legitimate if they wanted to actually sell stuff.
People that may (or probably) have been scammed would have no one to report it to that can take action, it is a site hosted overseas using a .com domain name.
If they post on a scam report site online it gets lost in the Google search results as the name is so similar to the real deal.
I doubt that a layman could tell it is a Shopify site, so they probably haven't been reported (often enough) to Shopify themselves to ban them from their platform.However even if it was legitimate, i wouldn't use it because:

I used them to book a hotel as they appeared as the cheapest through Google search. The booking said free cancellation but there's no way to cancel as all they sent was a follow up email with the credit card payment and a booking code from a no reply address. Trying to enter the booking code on the site results in an invalid message.That's what set alarm bells off

Here in lies the problem.
How much cheaper were they than a reputable site?
A group of sites are within about 10% of each other at the cheaper end (Traveluro, Super.com, GoSplitty, Vio, GoSeek etc).
From what I can tell, Holisto is the parent company of Traveluro and some of these.
Agoda, Booking com, Wotif, Priceline, Hotels.com are around 20% more expensive per night than the first group above.
All of these appear when you put the hotel name into Google and the prices are listed.
I'd be surprised if Google would let you click off to a scam from one of their listings but the many negative reviews and the fact you can't manage your booking on the site perhaps indicate otherwise.

There are plenty of cases where dodgy companies use sponsored links to lure victims.
You still need due diligence when dealing with random companies found from Google.

Prepared to be surprised, my friend. Think about it: most people use Google, so scammers naturally want to be featured in Google search results. How else will they get

This wasn't a simple search where I clicked a generic search listing. I searched for the hotel name and Google presented a list of options with prices.
If there's no checks and balances on Google's end for this, then anyone could add themselves to a highly prominent position and undercut Expedia, Agoda etc with dodgy listings which I suspect they would complain about.
Perhaps Google is prioritising greed over vetting the listings? Wouldn't surprise me given how bad their offshored service is.
