[iOS] Paramount Plus Subscription for $5.99/Year (iOS App Required)


Seems like there is a pricing error for Paramount+ on the Apple ecosystem.

Need an iOS device to take advantage.


  • Download the Paramount App on iOS
  • Sign up to a Monthly subscription (you are not charged here as there’s a free 7 day trial)
  • Go into your Subcriptions in Apple Settings and select “anual” at $5.99
  • You’re good until 2022

        • I thought they would because a Disney Owned streaming service named Hotstar recently closed as all its content was migrated to HULU and I received a email saying that all those subscribed via iTunes will be receiving a refund on 23/32/3280

    Follow the instructions to Dot.

    Only thing to add is after all those steps are done.
    in Paramount app you may get screen with "sign out" and to select "monthly" and "yearly" screen again.

    Don't stress select monthly and it will prompt for Apple password once more and finally link it to the $5.99 yearly subscription.

    Alternative Instructions:
    - Download the Paramount App Either Apple Phone IOS 12 or higher or Apple TV 4k
    - Sign up to a Monthly subscription (you are not charged here as there’s a free 7 day trial)
    - Go into Your Itunes Program on Pc (if not installed ) [Itunes] (https://ninite.com/itunes/)
    - Account, View My Account, Scroll Down to Settings Itunes Program on Pc Manage, Find Paramount Plus Click Edit and select “anual” at $5.99
    - You’re good until 2022

  • Great find OP! I subscribed last month on Apple TV and cancelled it after 7 days but it is still working even though sub shows cancelled. Probably it is a glitch on ios. Cheers.

    User interface almost worse than binge. Why can't they just copy Netflix/prime…

      Prime is the worst of all of them.

      • At least Prime tells you more about the show/movie. Paramount+ only have a photo when you scroll through the options.

      • I'd say Netflix > prime > Disney+ > paramount > binge

          Prime mixed available show, physical disc and unavailable show. it is super frustrating to use.

          Prime split different seasons for the same show,, why?? and not even consistently. Some show will have all the seasons under it.

          No subtitle for most of them.

            Binge, I've still not figured out how the navigation works sometimes.

      seems you have also made a mistake like me. if you read the confirmation email, it would renew at $5.99 next year. now, no option to renew at that price.

      On positive side - we have one year at $5.99.

        • ok. but in case you have never dealt with Apple for refund - they are quite good with it and will refund easily if there is dissatisfaction for aparent reason like price change etc. So I would have left the subscription going with that email as a proof, but bit late now because I didn't read the email.

      You can't currently it seems in Australia unfortunately. From a review:

      Profiles are also absent from the app, so everyone in your household will simply have to share a single account.

      Honestly, the price is not the problem. Happy with the Netflix price, etc.
      The problem is with so many streaming platforms with their exclusive content.
      When I wanted to watch "For all mankind" I needed to add Apple+ to my Netflix subscription. When the "Chernobyl" came in you needed to add HBO subscription.
      If you want Disney production stuff you need to subscribe to Disney+.
      The sums are all affordable individually, but if you start stacking up the subs, it will pile up. :-(

    • Looks like the Paramount+ app isn't available in Australia.

      You can activate a Paramount+ trial via Apple TV, however the $5.99 trick described in this bargain doesn't work :(

    Apple setting are we talking about settings in the IPad? if so I can't find subscriptions anywhere in Ipad settings and don't see anything in Paramount Plus app to change to yearly subscription, any help much appreciated

      At top should be your name, that's where you click.

      Settings app > Tap name > Subscriptions. Can also be done via app store person icon.

        Anyway doing IOS update as I'm running 12.4.9, maybe why

          • @LurvinOZB: Wow missed by few minutes I guess, done through PayPal so will cancel subscription through Apple subscriptions and PayPal auto renew payments to be safe

    • I just searched for "subscriptions" and it should come up with a settings icon.
      But its actually under settings>your name/apple id> then the 4th item in the list.

    • You should have received a subscription confirmation email from Apple. From your iDevice, click the link on that email where it says “review your subscription” and the list should pop up with anual 5.99 being the first option.

    • In paramount app click more than account then click on manage subscriptions

  • What if this company doesn't honor the 5.99/ year deal?
    They can say it is a mistake, and just give us 1 month subscribe.

    • In that case, you will have to contact Apple and ask for a refund.

      They will refund you then. If they don’t honor it you won’t have to do much. They can’t just switch something to a month after you’ve purchased a year.

      The truth is that they just gained so many new customers, which they would never get.
      I even haven't noticed Paramount Plus until today :-) And would have never subscribed.

      yeh. growing up, I NEVER had pay TV. That was for weird families who actually watched TV that wasn't programmed to play news from 5pm through to 8pm (Ten News at 5, Nine News at 6, ABC news at 7, 7.30 Report). Doom and gloom nightly.

      Now my kids eat susho and watch their fill of Netflix, Disney+, Binge, etc.. bloody little middle class brats the lot of them.

        The instructions say to sign up for a free monthly trial. Before you can access the subscription feature, mine is only showing a 7 day trial. Hence the question

          No it doesn’t, it says sign up for a monthly subscription. You don’t get charged and the month doesn’t start until after 7 days as you get a 7 day free trial.

      go to iphone subscription settings and choose the year 'anual' for $5.99

    Dam just missed out. Doesn't show $5.99 annual anymore. The only $5.99 is Paramount+ mensual(1month).

      Damn, must've just got in, but shows it as pending if I look at my transactions in iTunes. So, they could still knock it back and cancel the membership. I'll have to keep an eye on it so they don't switch me to the monthly plan or something. That would be evil!

      • I did it 2 and a half hours ago, hopefully they won’t cancel it haha. I don’t think they can cancel though i got a subscription confirmation email too.

    • I missed out but I doubt they will default on this. So in your subscription section in app store, what does it now have ticked as? annual?
