Performance Plus Dual Action Polisher 150mm $99 (Was $129.99) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Autobarn

200

I was about to get a $109 Ozito Sander/Polisher (non-dual action) but found this gem on sale.

DA Polishers are easier and safer for noobs like me (less risk of burning the paint) compared to non-DA polishers.

Used it on the car bumper today with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and it came out a little more shiny.

I also ordered these pads to go with the Polisher because each pad has a different cut for compound, polish, and wax. Still in delivery though.

If this runs out of stock, there's also the Mechpro DA Polisher (125mm) from Repco for $99 which comes with all the pads.

Did you follow up with ultimate polish and a wax or other sealant?

    • not yet - waiting for the other pads to arrive

Meg ultimate compound gives a good finish even though you dont follow with a ultimate polish. Tbh i haven't seen much increase with polish application

  • FWIW I read a comment from a buyer of the Mechpro DA that it vibrates very badly. What was your experience with this DA machine?

    • the 125mm mecho vibrates (9mm throw) like crazy. the 150mm (21mm throw) is much better

  • Looks identical build as is SCA's ToolPRO Dual Action Polisher 240V 720W 150mm, which is currently $129.99 but was as low as $89.99 a few months ago.

I know the Rockwell one gets good reviews.

Is this one just as good a buy?

Got a car with faded black paint, was hoping to get the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound onto it after a clay bar.

Then perhaps go over with a polish, then wax.

Can anyone also recommend a good (but good value) alloy wheel cleaner to 'melt' away brake dust along with a bit of a brush?

Pad quality makes a lot of difference. Avoid the eBay junk and research lake country pads. It is actually better economically to pay extra for better pads. They cut better. They last longer. They clean up better.

Meguiar's ultimate all wheel cleaner works well. I do two applications with some agitation on the second application.
