    Good price.

It's mobile connectivity is sht though. Can never connect when I need to. Deserves a neg for product issues.

    • Agree this has 'sht' mobile connection. I just added a wifi mesh system to my house that has vastly improved connectivity. Still not perfect but big improvement

      • It's poor on Wi-Fi too. But i meant remote viewing over 4g mobile data.

        • What kind of router do you have at home? I've got four of these and no problems with viewing over 4g, way better than Xiaomi/mi connectivity. Using pfsense and opnsense with upnp disabled on both. Maybe try disabling upnp if you have it enabled?

    • Fine for me on wifi or mobile.

One thing I have noticed: When the camera pushes a movement detection message to the phone and I click on it (Android) the app will go to the screen where it's trying to find the list of today's events. I quickly click back one day, and then back to today and it appears instantly.

  • Can/does this save to any sort of cloud for a period of time? If so, is there a free option, or paid only?

    • Free option for 1 camera only. Also has microsd card storage in camera itself. Cloud storage for additional camera's is a paid service

      • Sounds good - is it a rolling 7 day or something for free cloud storage?

Already got two Arlo 2 pros (with 7 day free cloud rolling), but need one more camera, and want one with better/newer tech for night recording.
Any of the newer Arlo cameras don’t allow this free 7 day cloud, so prefer to get something else that does.

        Edit: from their website: https://cloud.reolink.com/
        Free plan
        7-day cloud video history
        1 camera supported
        1GB of cloud storage

          "Free plan
          7-day cloud video history
          1 camera supported
          1GB of cloud storage"

          Yep correct

          • @Villainous: Does this mean, if we buy two of these, both have 7 day cloud storage for free? Thanks if you can help!

            • @[Deactivated]: Only 1 camera can be used for free cloud storage. Any additional camera's you will need to pay the subscription fee.

You can just use sd storage on all of the camera's. Cloud storage isn't necessary. It's an option.

      • Free option expires after 12 months I thought. I'm using microsd now. Unless they fixed it.

Not that the POS works anyway.

        Don't buy.

        • Had mine 1 year 4 months. Still on free cloud subscription

    • 2 questions for people who already own this:
-Can you remotely view past videos that are stored on the SD Card
I recently set up the Arlo (3 I think) for my mother, and unless you pay for the subscription service or can VPN to the local network you can not remotely view past events on the Arlo app
-Can you set it to store/backup video to a network connected hard drive or NAS?

      • I don't have these specific cameras but I have other wifi Reolink cameras and the software for these should probably be the same.. although mine say max 64gb SD I have a 128gb card in and it works fine.

-yes you can remotely access videos saved on SD card via the app without subscription, just the free account required.

-yes I believe you can use a network NAS e.g. Syntology but this can get more pricey than the camera(s)

        • Also, these are wire free, so they record only motion activated events, not 24/7, so you may not need more than microSD capacity to cover weeks of recording, depending on placement / sensitivity settings

      • "-Can you remotely view past videos that are stored on the SD Card"

        Yes

      • Thanks for all the replies everyone.

  • I have the Argus 2 Camera's all works fine except no continuous recording which i guess is expected with a solar powered camera, but the movement detection on these cameras are rubbish, its way too slow, to start recording. I normally only get the back of people in the last few seconds of the recording leaving the camera frame so they are a bit useless. If they fixed that issue for solar powered cameras they would be OK

    • which i guess is expected with a solar powered camera,

It is the case for pretty much all battery powered ones, regardless of solar or not.

  • Doe this run on battery.

    • Yes it doe.

  • I bought 5 of these last time. About $76 each with the solar panel from ebay. Tried to post here but the seller was banned lol. Connectivity is dodgy but I thought it was because i was running from a pocket 4g WiFi.
