This is for those who missed out on the last smsfun deal. They are having a "switch a friend and score Joobz promo". Here's how it works:

"Get your friends to switch to Optus and you both score Joobz!

When your friend signs up to SMSFun using your special link code, you will instantly receive 5 Joobz for referring them.

Additionally, when your friend is not currently with Optus, and they switch to Optus - you will receive a bonus 100 Joobz. At the same time, your friend will also receive 600 Joobz for switching to Optus!"

600 joobz = $50 giftcards (various stores) or 2 X$30 Optus recharge voucher

So :
1.find a friend who is signed up to smsfun and is with optus. Get them to refer you.Shouldn't be too hard to find someone willing to do it..or if you want you can use my referral code :) and i'll get 100 Joobz. Yay! My code :

2.Sign up with smsfun

3.Buy an optus sim and port your number to Optus .I found that it was easier to do it over the phone than online.

4.Wait a couple of days and you should receive an email from them to confirm that your account has been credited with your 600 Joobz. I received the email within 2 days.

5.Go to the online Joobz store and choose how you want to spend your Joobz.

The whole process was pretty much painless:) Easy money really

        Yes, got 1000 Joobz for both me and a friend, and 100 Joobz for the referral. Took less than a week from the time of switching, but I hurried the process along by clicking the "Check number" button on Step 3 of this page: http://www.smsfun.com.au/switch-how.php

        Used the 1100 Joobz for $100 worth of Wish Gift Cards and it arrived the next day via Express Post, so I can confirm the offer is legit. :)

      If the 1000 joobs deal has been extended, why would anyone switch to optus using this deal, it only gives them 600 joobs instead of 1000!

      Been a member since last December, and I haven't received any email or newsletters from them other than the intial account set up confirmation. Not sure if I unchecked any email subscription box during sign up. :)

      Can buy 100 Joobs for $20, or you can go to the offers page and get 100 Joobz by signing up to quickflix and get business cards for vistaprint, may only cost like $5 or $10 that way

    Whats the cheapest sim that optus do for prepaid? I know Coles have Optus Sims for $19 this week so thats a way to save $11, but do Optus do any $2 no credit starter packs like Telstra?

    I bought a $2 sim and simply did a $10 recharge on the optus site to be sure I had met the condition to use optus. I did notice yesterday that they have a $5 recharge option also.

    I referred hubby, but did not receive the 100 joobz. I'm told it's a bit hit and miss.

    Hi, it says it will contact us after a few days for the bonus joobz for switching….. is it through email, the smsfun account or I need to keep the new optus ported number in a phone turned on to wait for their call confirmation?

    @wicket1120: Is it only you that gets 100 Joobz for every successful referral or does that apply to anyone who has an smsfun account? I signed up using your referral link as a way to say thanks but if I sign up my own friends using my own referral link, will I get 100 Joobz too? I can't seem to find any mention of the 100 Joobs. I can only see 5 Joobz.

      Thanks for using my ref link :) u can start referring, and get your 100 + 5 joobz, once they've confirmed that u've successfully ported to optus.
      5 j is for getting someone to sign up to smsfun n the 100j when they successfully port to optus.
      Hv they confirmed that u're now with Optus? It can take a couple of days or u can hurry the process along by doing what soakwashrinsespin has suggested:

    I'm wondering if someone can help me out:

    I tried to sign up to smsfun in order to get the ball rolling, but I cannot receive the account activation code. I entered my mobile as follows:

    61 498xxxxxx

    No matter how many times I resend, I cannot get the code. Have I done something wrong?
    And support will not get back to me. Is there a direct email someone can give me?

      Somethingguy, have you been referred by a friend? If so, get them to open a ticket with smsfun.They usually respond within 4hrs.

      I tried to sign up for a family member and the same thing happened. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it has to do with the fact that you put a space in between the country code (61) and your mobile number. When I tried another mobile number without the space, it worked. I wonder how many people got 'stung' by this. Anyway, give a try and let us know how it goes.

    "Your membership application cannot be processed due to an error in the join process. This is probably due to your data not being entered into the database correctly. Please go to the main page, click on register and try again. Make sure your cookies are turned ON and that you do not close any pages."

    I tried to call them but no one answered my phone call.

    I ported my number across to Optus on the 18 March and the 'Verify You Are With Optus' feature is showing that my number is now with Optus. However, I still haven't received my 1000 Joobz. How much longer do I have to wait? Can someone tell me if I have to recharge my Optus account in order to receive the Joobz? Is there anything else I must do or do I just have to wait? Cheers.

      My sister didn't recharge n she still got the 1000joobz..but it was about 12days b4 her account was credited with it.if u hvn't receive yr joobz by the 31st of march, send me an IM n i'll check with them:)

    I signed up under your refferal link (OPs) and changed to optus on the 29th I think, and I still havent got my 1000 joobs yet =\ (havent recharged yet, but I have my phone on)
