I tried to do this a few weeks ago and the ladies at computer section simply flat refused to take my details.. maybe I did something wrong or wasn't pushy enough but how did you do it? Just ring them up and ask to be put on the list? I tried JB, GG, HN and BigW.
not all jb's will have a ps5 wait list. I called about 6 or 7 of them and 3 said "no worries, but the list is quite long. around 100 people" I said that's fine and still only had to wait about 2-3 weeks for a call back. One JB said they had tried to call like 20 people and I was the first to call back so I managed to jump the queue. was much easier then checking oz bargains every couple hours
My local said 200 but not sure if he was exaggerating. Wouldn't actually be surprised if he wasn't either though. More surprised why he bothered to write my details down with such a long list. I shall find out soon.
I thought only JB are doing a wait list?
Didn't know about the other retailers.
Pretty sure you must walk in and put down a deposit. I've never had a store put me on a wait list over the phone. The again I guess it depends if your state is in lockdown or not.

Already have an XSX so in no rush whatsoever.

In VIC, was on a waitlist, no deposit required and got called up a few weeks later. Different stores do things differently.

Its not too hard. Must follow twitter accounts and have notifications on. As soon as u get notification click through to purchase. No time to hesitate. Proceed with purchase and done. I got mine a few months ago and pretty confident i could have got a couple more if i wanted since then.

I managed to get one successfully from the previous round on Amazon for the disc version. I got my alert through the PS5 alerts guy on discord (notifications turned on). Basically just clicked on the screen pop-up. Amazon basically has my life’s details, so I just hit buy now. I only tried once before through Twitter unsuccessfully. Discord may be the way to go.
Probably lucky that I was already sitting at my computer at the time. It was still in stock for a solid minute after I checked out.
If no one buy from these people more than the retail price, we should have bought one for ourselives easlier.

You guys can get notified very quickly using Distill extension
The free version only checks every 6 hours. Not very useful in PS5 hunt.

just wait for amaZon, use the Twitter alert , have your credit card saved and press buy now, don't worry about delivery use whatever default option just press buy now, have the item saved in your shopping list. May take two weeks of following twitter as you may be busy sometimes when the drop happens, just be alert to the twitter erts and respond straight away.
I have the ps5 on nearly all day with a kindy aged child. It's so fun. I thought the fun journey to get a ps5 was over but it's soo entertaining for both of us and helps us bond with two player, the free robot game is crazy awesome better than paid games. I also bought "sack boy" which is just as good and great for two player. Have had it for about a month now. Got an extra controller.

I got the PS5 since the first release on 17 SEP 2020, that is exactly one year ago.
My view is if you were a true PlayStation fanatic and really wanted a PS5 you would have had it by now.
There were so many opportunities to get in on several pre orders.
If you're just waiting on stock to arrive in massive quantities and not bother to register your name, it not going to happen this year.
Call several JB and put your name down and your turn will come.

Its real simple.. Just call up multiple jb hifi's and ask to be put on the wait list. I've had the opportunity to purchase 3 but did the right thing and tell them I'd already managed to get one.
