Located in Creswick, approximately 120km outside Melbourne, we are one of the largest private employers in the region and the only coloured woollen spinning mill of our kind in Australia. Over 50 Australian mills of this type have closed in the face of competition from cheap imports in recent years, but Creswick remains, employing over 60 people directly and a further 80 indirectly across Victoria through its contractors and suppliers.

      Thanks for this.

Is a good find, but decided it didn't feel right taking advantage of the little guy. Especially as the industry is battling.

      • +5

The comment is Gold, I preferred not to go for it based on your comment. Thanks again.

      • +3

        Couldn't agree more

      • +4

Yes I pulled out at the last moment, had lots of practice.

      • +1

I was going to, but read your comment and now am not going to. Thx

      • +1

        This is their marketing strategy.
No need to feel bad for using it.

I didn't because there is nothing there that i would find useful.

    • +4

I feel bad… maybe we should buy something from them that’s not free or at a loss

  • +12

It's a small town just outside of Ballarat.
I hope their business can cope with the Ozb swarm

  • -1

thanks op, got a free kids bootie.

    • +1

Lol hilarious how someone gets negged for using the deal

      • +2

        Bunch of tossers right?

        1. Company creates a marketing promo
        2. OzB saints refuse to use it (even though the company has specifically created the promo and T&C's)
        3. Regular OzB users use the promo as intended
        4. Negs away
  • -5

Please guys just hold on for a minute so I can finilize my purchase.

  • Website is dead…

  • I’ve got a couple of scarves from them and are great quality.

  • +2

Good deal, but I hope this does not cost the small town company alot of money.

    • Your order number is: 000038XXX.

Maybe the number increases incrementally. Let's see

    • +2

  • -3

  • +4

I doubt they will honour those free Ozbargain orders

  • OZBARGAINED!

  • +1

    Website slow as snail

    • not much happening there…

  • Got a few blankets from Creswick. Great quality.

  • No more soap left.

This is like the avocado deal ..I bet they will cancel the free or low orders

  • +3

Website is so slow with only a couple of hundred clicks. Give up being a Friday nite.

  • +3

    Save the small business.

  • +10

Posts for a small business done by others shouldn't be allowed without permission by the business owner. Yes, they will/can cancel the orders, but they'll be spending a lot of time doing so - they lose either way.

    • +7

I agree, wouldn't feel right ordering. Clearly an oversight on their part, but people shouldn't exploit small local businesses for products they likely didn't already want anyway.

    • +3

I think admin needs to remove this deal

  • +7

The poor small business. After reading the first comment I decided to let this one go. Will probably shop for those soaps around Christmas.

  • -3

Cheers op, awesome deal! Got a few soaps and kids shoes. Don't know what a clothing protector is but snagged a couple as well.

    • -3

Damn stingy business they've cancelled one of eight orders

      • +2

Hopefully they’ll cancel the other seven.

        • -3

Does it make you happy to see others suffer at no gain/loss to yourself? You remind me of the kids at school who would do exams leant forward and using your free hand to cover up your page

          • +3

@neyo: You’re hardly suffering by not being given $160 of stuff for free from a small business. It wouldn’t be at any loss to myself but it would be to a small business so yes, I hope they do cancel all your orders. You remind me of the kids at school who would try to do exams leant forward to see someone else’s answers because you were unprepared and believe that things should just be given to you, even if you did nothing to deserve them.

            • -2

@dealsilike: I like how you ignore the fact it's the business that offered the promotion. It's your presumption and a stupid one at that that it will hurt them.

              • +1

@neyo: It was a slightly naive promotion hoping to drum up business. It was never intended to be milked by greedy people double-dipping eight times.
You seem super entitled and of no use to this small local business

              • +1

@neyo: Not sure why you’d think it’s stupid to imagine that shipping eight separate $20 orders for free isn’t hurting then. Eight times was greedy, and some of them were even for things that you didn’t know what they were.

                • +2

@dealsilike: Simple - they initiated a promo. They should also have a cap on number of redemptions. It then doesn't matter who uses the code but rather how many times it is redeemed within the limits of what the business can afford. Not sure why that's such a tough concept for you to grasp?

                  • +1

@neyo: You should also see that it is a small business from a small town and use some morals.
I.E. self-regulate and stop yourself at one set of freebies, as opposed to waiting until someone actually stops you freeloading and blaming them if they do not.

                  • +1

@neyo: Because it’s occurred to me that as a small business, they didn’t think to set a cap, because they didn’t advertise this promo or expect it to to spammed like this. On top of that, being a small business, they might not have the technological skills or foresight to cap it. The bottom line is that they didn’t intention the promo this way and you too advantage of that.

Also, let’s say it was capped - still scummy of you to order eight for yourself, either way you were selfish.

                    • -1

@dealsilike: Ok I finally understand you. Your mindset is all small businesses are run by idiots who need the sympathy and inaction of OzB heroes to survive

  • +4

Small Aussie business. Don’t want to take advantage.

  • +1

They must be making a lot of money from ozbargain now, hope people are buying their things, look at those clicks!

    • Its just advertising even though the refunds cost mney

      • well if people got freebies there won't be anything to "refund." If they decide to do so.

I wonder how much appearing on front page of ozbargain would be worth?

  • +2

Nothing left that I can buy. Stupidly expensive site. Pair of socks $45, picnic mat $159 to $259. My kmart $10 one I bought 7-8 years ago is still going good… yeah I don't get royal feeling on it.

    • Try their undies over trouser, you will feel superman if not royal.

  • -3

As in soaps made from milk of goat? I would love a soap made from dogs milk ♥️ Goat is meh just good as food

  • This is one of my dad's favourite store. I would actually use this to buy some decent stuff for his birthday/Christmas. Hopefully it comes back alive.

  • +1

Sure they can make back the cost of these products easily by selling the information.

    • Or cancel the orders after collecting your details for pure profit.

  • +1

All the free shit’s been ozzybargined

  • +2

    It's over..

"The discount code "FREE20" is not valid."

  • +2

Game’s over mates. The company has cottoned on (pardon the pun) increased the free shipping to $150 spend and the FREE20 code doesn’t seem to work on items under $20.

I suspect those who got in will get their free shit

    • +2

It was always free shipping over $150. The code gave free shipping, which is more abusable than $20 off.

Also I love the irony of a cotton pun for a wool vendor lol.

  • +1

    No more free shipping :(

  • 15$ Shipping … hmm…

  • +1

    Order cancelled…

    • What was the reason?

  • Ordered something where I had to pay $1.90.
    Received PayPal refund :(

  • +6

  • Order not honoured. Purchased a $29 wombat.

  • +2

All orders are going to be cancelled, all they wanted was data harvesting. Now keep receiving their marketing emails. Job done!!

    • +2

This is why I've a "crap email" that I use when I deal with any business for the first time.

Only if they're really good then I'll start sharing my actual details with them.

  • +1

I think they cancel some orders not all orders, we should b seeing our items soon :)

    • +6

If you didn’t pay anything they will not even bother canceling they will ignore the order

      • -1

Doubt it, for good customer service and keeping their reputation few orders will be honoured, it's not like they're forking out many PS5 units, these items don't worth that much, there's always been a lack in faith in these business, look that the beef jerky deal for instance, it maybe been delayed but turned out very positive for everyone.

        • -1

All the soaps are back in stock so that’s not a good sign. Being such a small business they probably have one staff on looking after the online orders and probably over 1000s Oz bargain orders, that’s why I think they wouldn’t waste their time.

    • They cancel all. It’s delusional if you think they will order some.

  • Cancelled

  • Thank you for your recent order.
