Very near expiry. Very Dissapointing from AMAZON again. More like a seconds clearance warehouse!

    Verified Purchase

Product very near expiry as it tasted off, not like the quality I expect. More like a seconds clearance dumping warehouse. Shame as I really like this product. Now I'm stuck with a box of nearly expired softdrink. As a result of being tricked once again I have cancelled my Prime membership for good. There is no inherent value in this. And don't bother trying for replacement or refund, already been there with previous items, almost impossible dealing with a maze of customer 'frustration' representatives with no intention of fixing the issue on the spot. A waste of time, Big Time. Much easier just to go to the local supermarket, I really that now that I have tried this charade out.

    It's not even worth $1.00.

    • Where does it list the expiration, or are you basing that off the Amazon review. I purchased two cartons and if they're short expiration I'll be contacting them and they'll credit my account. They did it with the 1.1kg bags of skittles I received with a one month expiration. Super quick, no dramas

      What do they expect?

I personally don't care if it's near 'expiry'. It loses a tiny bit of fizz. If it's a month or two off, all good for the right price. The clearance warehouse is usually past it, not just before it and you'll pay ~$6 a carton.

      • What do they expect?

some honesty, perhaps, but that's probably asking for a bit much
would be nice for perishables to include a use-by-date (even if it's within a range of a month or two)

        • would be nice for perishables to include a use-by-date but that's probably asking for a bit much

I recon it would be to pay people wages to update a static page with hundreds of 'use by dates' of individual products as they would all be different. Even if batches were done, there are multiple warehouses and probably multiple bays for certain stock. The checkout process would be a nightmare and you would be waiting 2 weeks for your precious $9 soft drink.

I think it's pretty safe to say if it's heavily discounted, expect it to be short dated.

          • @dmbminaret: They could easily leave a note/warning if they are discounting it because it is nearly expired. Won't have any of the negatives you mentioned.

        • Can see both sides here.

It would be nice to them to adopt something like Catch has which says "short dated check description" on the picture. Don't even have to put the exact date, just an awareness.

However, this is for sugary soft drink and honestly is fine even several months after its best before. It's only 12 after all, takes only a few days for it to go flat after its opened. The 'zero sugar' varieties degrade much quicker though.

      Amazon have no REAL deals
1.They most likely only match price
2.They want to get rid of some near expiry stocks

      • They most likely only match price

That's the exact deal. I can order while at work after getting a price alert from camel, forget about it, then have it turn up without thinking about it again.

Better for me than wandering around the aisles racking my brain what I was going to get only to find an empty shelf.

Amazon always refunds me or credits me for these things. Takes 3 mins on chat lol

Prime is a waste of money only if you need something specifically listed on Amazon store.

Most goods can be bought in supermarkets for sale price

  • Thanks for sharing this.

I still remember the day I was forced to question everything I had ever believed in when I found out it’s pronounced not as PASH-EE-OWN-A but as pash-owe-nah –ie three syllables, not four.

Fake news, check it out a bit more. You may also now re-assume everything you once believed in.

I had the last bulk soft drink deal from last week? just got cancelled by amazon today. They just straight out said unable to source… but on the item it says 1-2 months wait. Bit crappy how they just cancelled my order but assuming it was a price error

    • Amazon is a monopoly. It will come back to bite us if we keep giving them our money.

    • Yep - just got my cancellation on my dozen bottles of Sunkist.
They are still selling the Sunkist - so why the cancellation?
It was cheap - but it wasn't THAT cheap.
They also cancelled one of my subscribe and saves - same deal, still selling it.
Very poor by Amazon and 1 unhappy customer.

      • Yeah mine was a schweppes deal, still showing as available but just 1-2 months later (which usually we get it earlier but never had stuff cancelled on me especially for soft drinks anyways). I think mine was expected yesterday for delivery and they just canned it last minute

  • 21.60 again rip

  • I like the kirk's Pasito better

  • Got mine a couple of days ago and just looked at the best before date- 23/10/2021.
