Blackview Oscal Pad 8 Tablet (Android 11, 10.1", 4GB/64GB, 4G LTE) US$118.99 (~A$165.72) Delivered @ Blackview AliExpress

200
GIZCHINAIT13

This previously popular tablet is on sale again and the coupon pretty much offsets the GST. There aren't many reviews out but this video shows it in action. The tablet is good for general use, videos and light gaming.

Featuring Android 11, 10.1" 1920x1200 IPS display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage (expandable via MicroSD), Dual SIM, 4G LTE, 6580mAh battery with USB-C, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and powered by the UNISOC SC9863A Octa-Core CPU.

As with most of these tablets there's no Widevine L1 DRM so Netflix/Prime will not be in HD. The chances of getting the next version of Android are also slim, as to be expected for a ~A$165 tablet.

The tablet is available in Grey or Gold and comes with a case. There's also bundles which include either a Bluetooth keyboard or the Blackview Airbuds 5 Pro.

  • are there any 8"-9" Tablets around that are reasonable ?

    • No sadly not since they all have terrible specs (2GB RAM, 32GB storage), so it's a big void in Android tablets at the moment. I know many people have been picking up the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 and flashing it with newer custom ROMs since Xiaomi only ever updated it to Android 8.1.

    • Just picked up the Galaxy A7 lite today. I have to admit its underwhelming. I expected it to be slow but did not expect how bad the screen resolution is. Came from the S6 lite but wanted something smaller. Just my 0.02

    • Knowing how bad the 8 inch android tabs are I bought a Amazon Fire 8 and removed the Amazon bloat and put Google store on. It's in no way perfect. But it suits my use case ( streaming and comics).

I would get the new iPad 8 now, save you buying 3 android tabs in the next 3 years :)

  • Hey Clear,

Hoping you or sometime could answer my question.

I've currently got the Alldocube iPlay 30. It's a good tablet and I like it, however I'm looking to upgrade to a AMOLED screen, I mean I only use it for uni text book reading so really don't need anything fast for gaming etc. What I'm after is a nice screen.
I'm currently looking at the Alldocube X Neo, it has a Super AMOLED screen, however I know that cheap AMOLED screens don't always beat the best LCD screens. So I'm after some experience, knowledge with the X Neo, or with cheap AMOLEDs.

The X Neo is currently available from SunSky for $324.24 delivered via Aus Post.

    • Review isn't so bad though the lack of white balance control could be a downside. Also Android 9 but again to be expected.

  • UNISOC SC9863A chip is equivalent to what Mediatek or Snapdragon???

UNISOC sounds like a very weak chip thats not even worth spending money on.

    • It's equivalent to a Snapdragon 625.

    • UNISOC itself is a really good brand and their T610 and T618 CPUs are good performers. The SC9863A is pretty comparable to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 or MediaTek Helio P23.

      It has 8 Cortex-A55 cores/threads clocked at 1.6GHz.

  • Anyone know whether this tablet is capable of running games like Minecraft and Roblox etc…? thinking of getting one for my son. Thanks!

  • Light gaming? Call of Duty Mobile on low?

  • I will take a long time to arrive because of China power shortage.

  • What is the max microSD for it?

  • anyone that wifi only version?

    • No they all have 4G capability. You don't need to use the 4G if you don't want to and it won't make it work any different to a wifi version.

      • thanks and which one is better? Blackview Tab 8 or this one?

        • This is better than that one due to being a newer version of Android.

  • Expired? Shows $200AU for me.

  • Hey @clear,

Figure This is the easiest way to message you.

Would this tablet be the same?

    https://au-m.banggood.com/Blackview-TAB-8-SC9863A-Octa-Core-…

I can see it's an older version of Android. Can I upgrade to 11 though?

    • +1

It's pretty much the same tablet. Blackview announced in September that the Tab 8 is receiving the Android 11 update but I'm not sure if that's actually happened yet.

      • Thanks mate.
