Anybody did the iPad trade remember to online chat with Microsoft to match their own store because 4GB $477 now. The 8GB version should match HN soon.

    • I did it today with MS and got the refund and waiting for iPad trade credit now.

    • Thanks heaps! I just did that.

If online chat is not available, can call them on 1800 267 785, they will do that on the spot for you.

  • This is a great BYO school laptop for the poor kids.

    • school laptop

You need to add keyboard for this to become a semi decent laptop. Thats ~$150 - $200.

This deal is better for poor kids in need of proper laptop.
Downside is that its 1kg heavier. The screen is and 5 inch bigger which could be a pro & con.

      “Poor kids”? You serious?

What are you sending your kids to school with? DELL XPS?

    Just say No to Harvey.

  • Any deals on Surface go laptop, 16gb ram and 256gb ssd?

  • Are these compatible with existing surface pens?

    • I was just reading a PC Mag review and it says Microsoft told them it was compatible with all the original Surface Go accessories.

Wouldn't the Surface Laptop Go be better value? $777 for better CPU, larger screen and keyboard built in? https://www.harveynorman.com.au/microsoft-surface-laptop-go-…

    • That's a laptop. different form factors. Tablets are way better to handle.

  • can this tablets run 4k youtube video to monitor?

  • Can someone tell me why the Samsung S7 tablet basically double the price of these?

    • Higher spec, competes against Surface Pro?

But not many people want an Android tablet. iPad or ChromeOS is better value IMHO.

Price matched at Microsoft Store now

    • Microsoft store price is $636 suggest HN is now matching the MS store.
4GB/64GB version is $477 at MS store.

  • Don't forget to factor in another $200 for "Accidental Damage Coverage", especially if buying for school, as the screens are fragile and prohibitivly expensive to repair.
Then another $290 for keyboard and pen. You can probably skip the $120 "sleeve" and get a $20 one from Officeworks.

Total $1150. And that's just the Pentium version.

Agreeing with geek001, the i5 Go Laptop instead for $777 is better for school use.

With the rigid, attached keyboard, it breaks less easily in the school-bag, so worth considering.

edit: I see this model has significantly higher screen res, unlike previous Surface Go.
