    Here we go again right?

    • What happened last time?

      • +1

Product was oversold and took wayyyyy longer to ship. Countless lies from Buy Aussie Now.

People ordered jerky from Doctor Proctor's and expected it to arrive in a timely manner so didn't buy any other food and subsequently died of starvation when it took a few months. No great loss.

        • +8

It took 6 weeks, not months. Big overreaction from some people.

          • @Murdrum: Don't think it will happen this time for two reasons, price wasn't insanely low and not a lot of people will buy.

          • +4

@Murdrum: It was worth the wait… for me anyways

  • +2

was just considering buying this again, freaking fantastic jerky

    • +2

Decent but by no means fantastic in my opinion. 'Geronimo', that was fantastic!!
Plus the pain of getting Doctor Proctor's in the first place. Waited for weeks, started chasing a refund and finally received the jerky.

    • jerky was nice. took a but long, undecided

  • +3

    Grabs popcorn biltong…

  • What part of the cow is Doctor Proctor's Biltong?

    • +7

      Doctor Proctor is an ASSMAN

    • What part of the cow is Doctor Proctor's Biltong?

Considering the brand was originally going to be called Doctor Prostate, I'll let you decide…

      • missed opportunity to use Doctor Proctologist

  • +1

    Bad math morning ignore

Paid $48.20 for 900g last time

    • Didn't BAN rep say they lost dough on the last deal ?
This deal they might be aiming for $1 profit .

      • +2

they all say that, like benny from total recall

  • +2

    really good beef jerky.
    I quite enjoy it.
The shipping fiasco of last time left a bitter taste in my mouth waiting over 4 weeks for an order.
don't get any of the Bundaberg rum flavours. They are disgusting.
Providing they ship on time. its definitely a +1.
would order more but still getting thru my last order.

    • +1

left a bitter taste in my mouth

Was it past the best before date?

    • +2

Agree on the Bundaberg rum flavours. Only really palatable if you had enough Rum to numb your taste buds.
As for the other flavours I would call them okay not fantastic.
Definitely not good enough for me to warrant risking having to run after my shipment for weeks again.

      • I struggle to find anything that's not loaded with sugar.
I'll maybe have to try my hand at just making my own.

  • +1

Not as good as previous deal of $26.60 for mixed 450g delivered.

  • overrated jerky.

tasted salty and i didnt like it much, gave it away to the neighbours.

  • -5

brought 10 packs from the last deal.

Dont buy, tasted salty and odd.

    • +4

bought 10 packs from the last deal.
Buy, tasted well seasoned and nice.

      • +1

A mixed bag of both, some tasted good, some not so good. Does anyone think the biltong from the smaller packet is drier than the ones from the 100g packet?

    • Some were incredibly salty but some were well seasoned. I bought 30 packs and thus far have eaten about 10

    • Agree it was salty compared to the 2kg i just bought 2 weeks ago from the african shop

  • +2

A brave reappearance after the previous debacle

    • +1

I reckon good old David has been working his a$$ off to make this deal possible .
All we need is Nikko to start promoting it .

  • +2

    Too soon?

  • Pretty good jerky honestly, however the two smoked flavours I got in the pack last time had a very weird taste to them (chucked them as I felt they might've gone bad).

Other than that it's tasty, decent price here.

I was about to load this deal but I see that HappyHippo has beat me to it. Understand all your comments about delayed shipments from the previous sale, and also understand the frustration in waiting. This deal was supposed to read that it's being capped at 2000 (we got 3700 last time). All orders will be shipped out on Thursday 14-15/10. Last deal we got caught out with the (new) packaging due to a number of reasons. This time we have all the packaging in place and the product will be good to ship next week so no lengthy delays this time round.

    • +3

Dave I ordered about 30 bags of the "variety pack" last time and was very understanding. Tried all the flavours. I understand you were overwhelmed and happily received my order.

I've eaten about 10 bags so far. The jerky is really nice and I like the flavour range… But the salt levels made some bags unbearable. You guys really need to address the consistency in seasoning - even within the same flavour - the salt varies extraordinarily. Otherwise, the meat and quality are great.

I normally like salty things… But some bags are borderline inedible.

    • Why were there repeated lies about shipment dates? (My guess is it is Buyaussienow making false promises to avoid paying refunds).

Why do you continue to sell through Buyaussienow?

    • Important to note that you have failed to actually address the core issue with your last promotion. The issue isn't that you sold more than you had in stock, that was a simple error. The community doesnt trust you or your brand because you outright lied to your customers, repeatedly. If you didn't lie, you didn't even bother responding. It's one thing for a small business to make a mistake, it's another for them to treat their customers like dirt. I sent 5 seperate emails requesting a refund once the jerky had not been shipped, 4 weeks after it was supposed to. You didn't care to respond and in fact sent an email with revised delivery dates that were nothing short of a lie.

      Good luck

  • Should make for an excellent Xmas present! 🤦‍♂️

Not worth. You could get better biltong at your local south african store for ~$65-70/kg

  • Please add… PLUS $5 STANDARD SHIPPING.
I would've thought the least you could do after the last debacle is offer us free shipping.
Just removed it from my cart… Especially if I have to pay now, wait 2 weeks for it to be shipped, then possibly another week or two to get it!

  • " How much does shipping cost? Shipping is free for all orders over $30. A flat rate of $9 applies to all orders under $30."

Next page: Shipping - Standard Shipping: $5.00

  • Feel like this should be 1kg worth rather than 700g.

  • Not worth it, you cannot buy more than one, you need to pay for shipping, and it contains beef sticks that are always cheaper, because they are from meat scraps.

    It is $76.7/kg without shipping.

  • Hey OP

    you forgot the below

    What you get:

    Delays

    BS responses from BuyAussieNow

    Order Delays

    Oversold product

    More delays

Good quality jerky let down by delays

    • Too right

I'll never order off this mob again

    • Never again

  • -1

    BTW where's the rep lol

  • I found the first few bags from my order great.. but all the bags I've tried lately (from the same order) haven't been as good. Even though same flavours. Maybe I got jerky overload. Or maybe it was just good because it would have been so fresh at the start

  • Bought from them in the last deal. Would definitely buy again. Shipping was delayed but I wasn't too concerned. Mistakes happen.

  • The new orleans smoked one was really good. But the smoking good tasted overpoweringly of vinegar. The beef itself is definitely great quality. Not sure if the increased order amount altered their recipe at all but it was inedible.

  • The jerky quality was barely OK for my taste. The delay and lame excuses are dreadful. Will never buy from them.

  • +3

Please don’t put yourself through this. Just don’t. It’s not worth it. Buyaussienow is a compulsive liar that stalls indefinitely, issues illegal threats to withhold refunds and refuses to honour valid refund requests for months all while saying ‘we have refunded many people’.

Then they try to say ‘we are an aussie business we can do no wrong.’ A business built on exploiting Australian consumer goodwill.

They’ve now started sending unsolicited text spam as well.

  • +1

The biltong was ok at the previous price point. Meat quality is good.
The product can be improved by:
    - Adding crushed coriander which is a key part of biltong spice mixes.
    - Improving the flavours.
    - Reducing salt content.
    - Clearly defining it it’s biltong or jerky as they are not the same.

I won’t be buying any from this offer though as it’s pretty much around the same price point from South African Butchers.

    • Is this thread kidding me as if South African Butchers in Oz are a dime a dozen .
I've never seen one here :)

      • There are actually several South African butchers/shops in different parts of Sydney. Biltong around $60 and Biltong snapsticks around $70.

  • Ordered 1kg for myself from the last deal but I'm only about halfway through my purchase cos I find it too salty for my taste. If anyone from western Sydney would like to buy my last 5 bags (100g of smokin hot, New Orleans wood smoke, original, smokin' good, tasty curry), please let me know! I can probably deliver it if you live close enough.

    • If you go to CBD in the future, I might be interested.

      • That's probably a bit too far for me but I could get to Strathfield or Burwood.

  • These were the worst billtong and jerky I've ever tried, way too salty - and that was on top of the crazy delays.
