  • So this is Wifi 6e? Meaning it has 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz & and 6Ghz band correct?

      Nah eero Pro 6 is Wi-Fi 6.

Wi-Fi 6E is yet to be approved for use in Oz.

      • +1

Ah okay thanks. Must stop reading US articles thinking it applies here. Apparently Wi-Fi 6E will require a new modem/router, so can’t simply update your existing router/modem.

I Wonder if this will result in some huge sales on networking gear when the transition begins. Hopefully not too far away, lawd knows the majority of us with cruddy NBN speeds would appreciate it!

Once approved you need new Wi-Fi 6E routers, mobiles, laptops and so on to use the 6GHz band.

There won't be huge sales at first. Wi-Fi 6E routers are double and triple the price of Wi-Fi 6 routers. It will take a quite few years to transition and there is no ETA.

  • for wifi 6 and tri band, I want to upgrade from google wifi (old gen). but it doesn’t support PPPOE :(

Maybe Google will announce a new Wi-Fi 6 Nest Wi-Fi sometime this month.

      Netgear, Asus and TP-Link have Wi-Fi 6 tri-band routers.

        Ya good point :)

Shame it doesn't support pppoe, had to return last time!

  • This 3 pack or 30 pack MW3? :)

  • I'm currently using a Tenda MW6(2pack) and looking to finally upgrade to WIFI-6. Home is on Optus nbn and wondering if this eero triband deal is good in comparison to what is out in the market? is the dual band just as good for us in Oz at the moment or is it worth the upgrade? (big price difference). Also wondering if the price will fall with Blackfriday next month.
