If you wish to delete your account:

  1. Log into your account on desktop web browser

    • I am pretty sure they haven't, probably just some glitches with their server. I just applied all 3 for a friend minutes ago. It just takes a few tries (3~5) but will eventually work.

    • +3

Working again it seems but in reverse STARTUP1000P666 works on an initial upgrade to Personal Pro for some reason and HAPPYHOUR works again once on a subsequent upgrade to Team but not getting any love for ADALOVELACE, that one just shows "Invalid Coupon Code" for me whatever I do

  • Awesome. Thanks

  • STARTUP1000P666 still works.

  • I'm sure that the credit is gonna be revoked, but this is fun lmao

  • Yes it's still working by just applying the coupon in the Billing section. You might have 'invalid coupon' or HttpRequestError several times, but then STARTUP1000P666 works at some point without downgrading.

  • One more question, can I withdraw the balance?

    • No

    • +2

Of course, i've just put a downpayment on a time travelling delorean with my share

    • +1

Lol. Carrot IQ. Yes, I'm sure Notion has a 'Withdraw $1750' button for the thousands of people who pounced at this.

  • +5

ADALOVELACE does not seem to be working any longer

  • It has ENCRYPT TEXT option like Evernote ?

  • +2

STARTUP1000P666, HAPPYHOUR and ADALOVELACE no longer seems to work, unfortunately. I'm getting "Invalid coupon code" on all 3.

    • I'm so annoyed, I hesitated too long! It actually looks pretty good.

      • +7

you hesitated on a free deal that gets you over $1,700 worth? you should be punished

        • +1

          True ozbargain spirit

        • Was waiting for a better deal.

  • Actually a bit shattered I missed this. I have just started a film production company and this looks like it would be an absolute dream for a struggling start up like mine.

If anyone got the credit without having any real use, and would like to exchange it for a little promotional video of some sort, let me know!

    • You can use scrivener only about 36$ and that’s it. I have been using for a while can’t complaint

    • Enable your PM.

  • +18

Found a backup code, just tested and seems to be working. If you've applied a startup code before, it won't stack with another.

    Use code: STARTUP1000P453

    • (profanity) legend! Was bummed I missed the original deal, of course it had to be on the day I was too busy to check OzB.

    • Cheers mate.

      This worked

    • Thank you so much, was feeling bummed I missed out on the other codes.
This code works, got $1000 credit.

    • Hahaha you're a true ozbargainer
How are you even coming across these codes 😂

    • Thank you! got the 1000 credit!

  • can we just collect all the credits and stay at free plan until we really need to use the credit??

    • +1

You planning to ration the credit for the next 20 years?

      • +1

        True ozbargain spirit

  • Great, worked 😃

  • ADALOVELACE and happyhour expired am i correct?
    the 1000$ still work.

but im short of $750 compare with others - not a happy jan here

    • Looks like it, those 2 codes didn't work for me. But still got the $1000.

      • yeah maybe OP need to update the post to get people ignore the 1st comment from K (not disrespect the commenter of course but it is not working anymore).
        @skido

        • +1

Unfortunately I'm sure you're aware that you can't edit your post after a certain amount of time but I will definitely organise for it to be unpinned.

    • LOL me too :-)

    Meanwhile at Notion HQ

Notion Boss Ivan Chao: Can I know why our revenue for this month is nil for Australia?

Notion Accounts: Boss….we gave them each a credits of $1k for our approx 7000 AU customer.

Notion Boss Ivan Chao: F@#$ Marketing!!!!

    • If they were smart they would put a cap on the limit of codes.

E.g. that Deliveroo $10 code for those school kids

  • I wonder which startup those codes belong to.

  • Giving them my credit card number is a price too high to pay.

    • +1

      google REVOLUT

      • Does the free plan include virtual card as well?

        • +1

I think so. The referral now is less than before you may need to spend a little to open. Not sure.

    • +2

Or Zip Pay single-use card. Expire after 24 hours.

  • Honestly the free plan is more than enough for me, and upgrading to Personal Pro doesn't seem to make much difference - just file uploads and version history.

But I've used the $1000 credit to upgrade anyway 🤷‍♂️ .. and now I'm set for the next 20 years or so!

  • Thanks OP!

  • +3

You also get $5 credit if you import your documents/notes from Evernote….I just imported years worth of Uni notebooks.

  • +2

I feel rich!! Never have this much money/credit in anything before :)

  • Still working - only STARTUP1000P453 at check out for $1000 credit.

  • Just tried, it's working, but can NOT stack STARTUP1000P453 with STARTUP1000P666, was thinking maybe I can do that. Feel super super rich, never had more than $1,700.00 credit in any account in the past. Thank you OPs for these codes.

    • I only have 1000 the other 2 codes not working

      • Might be expired, was working last night.

      • All the other codes have now been cancelled including the original one in this thread see the original post for the updated code for thousand dollars.

  • think coupon code box was just removed and replaced with link to this https://notionup.typeform.com/to/AtsO2OQa

Do you have a Notion code?
    What is your code?
    What is your email?
    What's your Notion workspace domain?

    • What's this about

  • Hey anyone got any solution to why I can't enter any codes in? I keep clicking the option for entering a code but nothing comes up :( Also following mantra's link doesn't work as well for some reason?

    • Maybe they temporarily took it down?

      • Welp that sucks lol, I dont think the codes gonna work anymore

  • +1

Not working anymore — now feels stupid for 'Redeem first, ask later'.
Given out personal data for free this time round. Oh u win me Notion T_T

  • +1

It seems like they shut down the redeem coupon site. Hopefully it comes back up soon

    • Well with the 100k dollars plus deficit on their book, not really. Game over thanks ozb

      • That's a fat tax write off

      • +3

While they wouldn't be happy about it, the reality is they're likely losing very little revenue. The vast majority of us are going to be using the personal pro plan and if not for the credit would be using the free personal plan instead. Like many deals posted here a lot of people who jumped on it will in fact never actually use it at all but just can't resist getting something for free.

On the other hand they may get increased exposure and some of those people who start using it because of this and then introduce it to their work place, or to associates who introduce it to theirs, could generate team and enterprise sales that otherwise wouldn't have happened.

        • I totally think this is free marketing for them. So many people will know about. I literally had three creative associates I hadn't heard from in about a year directly email me saying did you hear about Notion and this deal?

My god. so worth it for them. The diff our usage going from free to personal will be negligible to the lock in effect this will have for many businesses.

The "oh you missed out?" or "hey remember when the deal" effect and nostalgia will be strong.

Or, they will just wipe all of our credits. Unlikey though.

  • I signed up this morning, and was using the STARTUP1000P code and just putting a different set of random numbers at the end. It worked on three different accounts and I used different numbers each time. I can't actually remember what I used each time, just kept changing them until the code worked!

  • Under the Settings and Members > Billing, just before "Have a coupon code?" it says "Workspace balance $x Apply credit"

Do we have to press that "Apply credit" every time the renewal comes up? Eg. per month or per year depending on what we chose?

I don't remember to see "Apply credit" button previously. Thanks.

  • +8

They have removed $1500 in credit for me. Ah well…

    • Yeah mine's been removed as well but I don't think I'm going to continue using it anyway. I only just started a few days before this came up but I've run into what IMO is a critical bug in that from my fairly small sample testing, there's roughly 50/50 chance of a date I enter being changed to the day before the date I entered. Contacted support and they're aware of it but no ETA to fix and from searching online it's been around for at least 3 weeks so far. If something so basic as date functionality is wrong then who knows what else isn't working. The date being off by just a day was easy to miss as well as you type in a date and hit enter and move on and at a glance it looks correct but isn't.

      • Did you just enter a date and it saved as the day before? Is it possible they stuffed up the timezone? Their date field is actually a date time field I think

I will need to check mine course I have so many dates entered.

        • Yes, enter a date and 50/50 if it jumps to the day before. You can see it on the little calendar as well. Date you entered at the top but just below on the calendar the day before is selected and that's what appears when you hit enter. So easy to miss. It's really weird. Seems to effect past dates more often than future. Don't believe it's timezone related otherwise it'd effect all dates the same. The odd thing is once you find a faulty date, you can even enter that date on a different page or table and it'll continue to jump to the day before so it's something on their side and as I said, they're aware of the issue.

Start up code credit just got cancelled

    • +1

Yep, can confirm. Got this email:

      Hi there,

Kate from Notion here. I'm writing because you redeemed a code for Notion credit that we offer as part of our Notion for Startups program.

Unfortunately, this credit can only be used by verified startup companies, so it has been removed from your workspace. Nothing else has changed about your plan.

If you are part of a startup, we'd love for you to apply again so we can carefully re-review your application. And regardless, we hope you continue to find Notion helpful. We're here if you need us.

      Thanks for your understanding,

      Kate

    Notion for Startups

    • Yeah - it doesn't let you fully remove it though - only update it

So, might be best to cancel the subscription altogether so it doesn't auto renew.

    • +1

If you want to continue using it downgrade to the free plan. I've done that and although my credit has been removed it still says my pro plan will expire 01/10/22 after which I'll be on the personal plan. As there's no cost for that basic plan there won't be any charges.

      • Did it remove all of your credit AFTER you downgraded? They removed exactly $1500 credit from mine and I still have $169 left. I haven't downgrade yet. Plan to if the credit does not disappear

        • No credit was still there earlier today and I downgraded yesterday minutes after upgrading and applying the credit.

    • I deleted the "workspace" in the "danger zone".

I thought they would honour the entrepreneurial spirit of ozbargainers. Alas, time to delete my account.

    • You won't be missed

      • Uh… I reckon Notion would like to retain a potential customer. Pretty sure these startups are desperate for users.

        • +1

Don't think you see how Saas works. Yes they want customers but only those willing to pay.

You are still be a potential customer… Plus services like these usually make money selling to companies, not individuals.

  • -3

    BE CAREFUL, EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS…

So I claimed these coupons after adding my credit card and obviously downgraded to the free plan immediately (so it wouldn't overcharge next year). I just went onto my account again to check and it turns out whilst my card has been added and the $1500 credit removed, my account was back on pro for some reason… Anyone here bothered enough to fight notion?

  • LOL

    Finally someone got to it.

Sad all my credits are gone.

I sould say, I was going to plan my start up by taking notes on Notion and get those credits back..

    • I still have $169 credit left, and pro plan still valid until 1/10/2022. Well that's 4.5years of pro for free. I would not complain :)

They removed the button to redeem code

  • +2

It appears they will bill you the amounts before the subscription renews, if you don’t have a workspace balance. You can check this by going to the billing section and at the top, select View upcoming invoice. Be sure to downgrade to the Free plan or delete your account otherwise your card may be charged.

If you wish to delete your account:

Everyone downgrade to the Personal Plan, else you will be charged in the next cycle if you don't have any credits left.

    • thanks. downgrade to personal

Successful marketing. Just generate $1000 code, make sure it goes to ozb, cancel after few days.. and viola… hundreds of email for free.

    • yep, old trick but works ;)

All my credits got cancelled, see below email that was sent from Notion.
