I've never seem them lower than 50% off. Are sure it wasn't the smaller version that was $4.50 (and therefore 50% off)?
Oh, it must have been 50% off. So $5.50 a few weeks ago for 1L.

The glass ones seem like a good idea, but the customer ratings on the Spotlight store are very low (and I cant find a way to read the comments to find out why). Am I right to assume that the lids are made from plastic, and the base only is glass?
Correct, lids are plastic, they seal well enough. If you want a watertight seal you're better off with the 'Deluxe Clip' versions. But the Vent & Seal's are good for freezing leftovers in, reheatable lunches etc.
The thermoglass containers are cheaper from woolworths/big w when they have them at 50% off, spotlight's prices are outrageous.
Myer has the glass models at half price at the moment (apart from thermoglass which they don't seem to stock) and you'll save a dollar or two per container compared to spotlight. Myer have a bigger range of sizes available too.
Good call on Myer, in store only from what I can see so couldn't get them on the East Coast at the moment which sucks.
