I think I will stick with my 4G phone (p30 pro) till pre-paid 5G plans become cheaper. I have fast wifi at home and office anyway.

    • +3

I'm still using P30 pro also, going to wait for Vivo X70 Pro+

      • My earlier phones were Xiaomi and this was my first Huawei. It's a great phone, but I might end up going back to Xiaomi. Or totally might ditch Chinese phone and switch to Sammy or Pixel depending on the latest news about Chinese phones down the line.

      • Hope more phones will begin to use the Samsung camera sensor found in that phone.

+1 from me, I am still using p20 pro. The best phone ever used. Hey I am interested in x70 pro plus too.

      • That phone has thermal issues. It's hot for no reason. The only good part is camera.

      • Vivo X70 Pro+ will never be released in here. only Vivo X70 Pro will. Same as the Vivo X60 series.

    • +1

+1 for the P30 Pro. Mine is still going strong.

  • For a second i read as 271.65$ 😅

  • Gcam fixed the cameras on this phone for my mum. Massively improved the clarity of the pics for anyone looking to get one.

    • Shame for a $700 phone.
Oppo phones lacks clarity & details especially selfie cam due to poor algorithm like most other brands.
Only Google & Apple & Samsung has something to say in that regard.

      • It's more like $849 every day price. Totally over priced.

  • All you guys using p30 Pros ect or other Huawei phones how are you using the Google apps? Gmail, YouTube, Google Pay ECT or do you just avoid them?
Sorry if it's a stupid question, there have been a couple of nice phones I would have purchased if I knew they were secure and I could use NFC(tap to pay) and Gmail ect.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

The Google services ban was after the P30 Pro was released. So we keep getting updates like any other regular phones. Only phones after that ban are affected.

      • Oh OK cool! I hope they manage to sort out whatever concerns are there, Huawei have some pretty nice phones.
        Thanks.

          • @John Doh: That's a shame! Sure if they really are a security risk then they should be gone but certainly add a retail technology seller of phones/tabs ect it wouldn't have been difficult for them to start selling them with a fairly generic Google Android OS so those security concerns weren't even a thing?
But I've never dived deep enough into the technical aspects of it to really understand why it's an issue. The 5g systems sure I can see why they might pose a risk.
            Anyway goodbye Huawei

            • @Clarky77: Lot of political drama for sure. I woulnt be so worried about huawei moving out. There are lot of other players who have good models now. But its a big loss for sure.

    • You can find lots way to install the google service app to Huawei even P40 from youtube. Very easy.

  • Any reason why i cant purchase with afterpay or steppay when i try to checkout?

    • Not every seller accept them.

      • Update: My steppay payment went through

    • It's weird you can't use AfterPay esp because both eBay & The Good Guys offer it. I'm guessing there are fees associated with seeking in eBay and AfterPay both so TGG have decided they'd rather offer a better price on eBay than have to increase the price just so they can pay the fees for the small % who want to use AfterPay.
      Just a guess though.

      • It's only for the smartphones that i can see. I just added the Sony WH1000XM4B headphone to the cart and Afterpay is showing up at the checkout.

But then i went and added the Oppo Find X3 Neo to the cart without applying any coupon. And guess what. Afterpay is blanked out as an option. They've deliberately disabled paying for this phone via Afterpay through the ebay system. There's also no Afterpay option for the Oppo X3 Lite smartphone either. So The Good Guys have decided not to offer Afterpay for any smartphone from their ebay store.

So it has nothing to do with this discount coupon. TGG via their ebay store just won't allow Afterpay to be used to pay for smartphones. Oh well it's their loss of sales.

  • hi guys, any good phone for a backup one. I have Samsung A8 for years and want something to replace it, budget $200-$300. Thanks

  • +2

Good phone, and this is a bargain if you want it. I paid $899 and while I think that is a lot of money, it is the closest I could find to a premium phone under $1000 (or more). Replaced my OnePlus 5T (wanted to stick with One Plus but it really isn't much of an option any more) and I wanted to keep a clean UI. The Oppo UI is a bit of a change, but I use Nova launcher and that keeps a lot the same for me.

I'm no photo expert so can't rate that, but I can't fault the phone, and it gets 3 years of android updates under Oppo update policy.

    Ask me anything.

    • Was watching a youtube review on the phone, is it true you can't watch disneyplus or netflix on this phone? Or have they already updated this

      • AMA but not that, lol. I don't do either, so couldn't say.

For Netflix, isn't it just HD that doesn't work on some phones?

  • I don't think it's worth it for the specs.

It's even got a smaller battery than the Oppo A74 5G. And that's also got an Octa core CPU with a 2400x1800 90hz display but at $447 every day. Granted the Find X3 Neo has twice the amount of RAM. But gee the X3 Neo in my opinion should be at most around $600 every day. In my opinion at the price they ask for it it's not worth that. The current $849 is a joke for this. Over priced. And why would they put a smaller battery in a higher phone than the 5000 mAh what's in the A74 model.

    • This has real cameras, the A74 has sticker cameras except for the main one and maybe the 8MP ultrawide.

      • Sorry but you're telling rubbish.

Real cameras on the A74 5G every single one of it all four rear cameras are real. There's no fake cameras on the A74 5G. Those are the little 2MP macro and depth cameras plus the 8MP ultrawide. Main camera is the 48MP.

Oppo is not in the business of producing smartphones with any fake cameras no matter which model. I think you're thinking of those noname generic Chinese made fake smartphones.

        It's in the specs.

        • Sticker cameras = cameras added just for the hell of being able to say "Quad Cameras" and serve no real purpose.

          • @cycleri3: Macro and Depth cameras serve a real purpose. It's part of the AI scene enhancement system. There are 4 real cameras but each serve its own purpose which are used for various photography capture environments. So please stop telling rubbish.

This article explains what the Macro camera photography are for. I can tell you that they are not sticker cameras. Those small cameras are there for a reason.

            https://www.dpreview.com/articles/3064907237/depth-of-field-…

The Oppo Find X3 Neo also has a 2MP Macro camera and an Ultrawide camera. So going by what you claim those must be sticker cameras. But of course that's rubbish.
