    Great price. Have been using M.R. kettles for the last 15 years. This must be the lowest price ever, never seen it so cheap. Quality wise, they may not be the best and I don't really have a big sample to compare it to, but they certainly blow the Kmart one out of the water.

        Looks nicer, boils water faster, more importantly stainless steel vs cheap plastic which gives the water a funny taste and potentially carcinogenic, apparently some ppl can't taste it but I certainly can.

    Happen to need a replacement kettle at short notice and I was thinking of just going with a Kmart or Big W one. They have stainless steel ones for about $20, and normal flip top lids (I'm function over style thanks).

    Is this brand of kettle particularly good or something? For comparison was using a stainless Sunbeam for years but finally getting let down by some of the plastic parts around the lid are getting bit grotty and flakey! Shame cos it's otherwise still quite clean/decent (and boils fine)

    Picked up a black and gold Morphy Richards kettle from Big W the other day for $35 (originally $165)

    I can confirm that it's a kettle. Just like most other kettles. Looks nice though.

    In my personal experience these kettles are rubbish. I had one for 12 months and it started bubbling/leaking at the lid and also went very rusty.

    Also as somebody else mentioned the handle severely obstructs refilling the kettle and may prevent it from even fitting in your sink to refill.

      I think it's designed to refill from the spout instead of the lid. I am guessing opening and closing the lid all the time may be what's causing it to loosen and start leaking?
