Second in line at Target Knox City. Got 64GB 4G for $773.10 with Coles/Target staff discount. I wanted a 32GB but they said they only had four model variations of the 16GB and 64GB.

Does Knox Target has more stock of 64gb 4g in white? When you pay using your coles staff discount - do they check ID?
ThanksThey had stock of them when they opened on Friday, however I am not sure about now. And they didn't check my ID when I used my discount card. Just make sure it's signed because on other occasions in Target I've seen them question people using unsigned discount cards.
Got a 16gb wifi and a 64gb 4G this morning from Target. Rocked up at 8:50am and there were 5 people queued up lol. They only 16gb wifi black/white and 64gb 4G black in stock, and were taking orders for the other models.
Good deal and great device, but you people do know that 4G in this new iPad is pretty much useless here in Australia at this point in time, right? Frequencies new iPad supports (700MHz and 2200MHz i think) and Telstra's 4G frequency (1800MHz) is different and therefore 4G won't work at this point in time.
Personally, that wouldn't stop me from buying one, but it might be an issue for some people.i see this as the beginning of the end for apple as too many people are starting to wake up to the fact that all thier products inevitably are lemons
Well not so sure about that. Regardless of what the reason for this is, I doubt that the same will happen with the next iPhone. The bottom line is that whether you like Apple or not, their product are quite solid and very much useable for everyone without complicating things too much.
I don't mind Android either, but overall despite some limitations, i do think that Apple products are easier to use, much more stable, much better and greater range of apps and the battery life is way better compared to Android devices.
Quite frankly, one of the main advantages Android had over is flash support but with Adobe ditching flash and most websites switching to HTML 5.0, Android has fallen behind quite a bit and it would take a lot to catch up to Apple.so then why was microsoft forced to buy out major share in apple so the company wouldnt become disfunct?

Got a white 16gb wifi just now at JB Chatswood, price matched with Target, $499 :)
got mine for myer adelaide, price matched to big W,.. $498

Myer her ein sydney does not price match and telling that BigW and others selling below apple pice is not allowed by apple and they will be in dep trouble with apple if they do so….
It looks lie kthe manager is talking crap as other myer do allow price matching at this price.

Apparently the only WA targets to have them at the moment (and in limited quantities) are Innaloo and Midland(?) - according to the staff member at Target Perth city. The same team member informed me they were expecting delivery within the next few hours, or failing that, Monday.
Also Bull Creek don't have them in yet, expecting delivery on Monday.
Thanks OP, due to this post I got to Target at 8pm this morning, along with one other guy and got a 64GB 4G+wifi one. No need to lineup for hours. Betcha BigW would have been crazy…
Yeah… no long queue at Target Melbourne this morning. A mate told me they still have the new iPads in stock (@ 1:00PM). Most people who wanted one probably pre-ordered.

There were plenty in JB HiFi Enex 100 Perth this morning and they're freely price matching Target.

Ended up with David Jones in Canberra City for a new iPad 16GB WIFI because Target and Big W here sold out their stock. Myer in city would not agree to price match despite that I called them first and someone on the other end told me that they have done one price match before my call. So they are not surprised about this price. But when I was in the store, the guy I talked on the phone went for training and all the other guys did not believe that. One guy started the investigation about the price in Target. Then a big size lady came over who appears to be the store manager told me that they haven't done any price match today, and start talking in bla bla….

Enex 100 im Perth CBD wouldn't match Target's saying they didn't have stock. Went to Target on Hay st mall and got a 16gb wifi without issues!! No line at all and the seller even said they haven't been busy at all.
Most JB Hi-Fi in Western suburbs of Melbourne have stock of all models.
They won't pricematch as they said Target and BigW are out of stock. They are selling it for $7-8 less than BigW/Target.
IE: $675 for 15GB Wi-Fi + 4G vs $668/669.
Ring your local store to check stock levels.

At the end of today, most target stores were out of stock. I got my 16GB WHite wifi Ipad for $449.10 at Liverpool store with the Target discount card (which I borrowed from a friend!) I don't think anyone can get anymore from Target. All their Ipads are sold out today!
Got one at BigW at Warringah Mall at 5.30 today for $498, 16gb wifi.
