      No way, and that would be a lot of hard work to go and do a lot of shopping as this has to be redeemed one at a time.

      I tried 2 barcodes today, and they both did not work. A few interesting things about this, first of all the barcode errored and it was clear that the Woolworths POS machine was able to tell that it had not been redeemed, and that it was some sort of promo. If you scanned a barcode of an item that is not in the Woolworths system, it will error a different way and alert staff about an item that is not in the system, unless it has changed in the past year. If the barcodes had been redeemed the system will be able to tell and reject the barcode with a different message.

      The staff member was able to override the charge and it was free, so Woolworths did great in honoring the deal.

      It does seem like there is an issue somewhere with the barcodes not being released to Woolworths

        My Woolies had a big meeting about the barcode and said "do you want to pay for them?", otherwise it's a no go and blamed McCains. This is Woolies in South Melbourne.

    Just tried my one and only barcode. Didn't work ('not found' type error). Staff were helpful, and just put the item through for free for me. They're going to contact McCains, and also check with WW head office to find out why it wouldn't scan through. So I think your mileage may vary with this offer.

    (As already stated, sounds like some codes work, some don't — no clear pattern, and perhaps just bad coordination between McCains and WW, and the POS terminals).

    It also didn't work for me, I claimed at around midnight this morning. Originally I suspected it was a batch load/database thing but then I read the other messages above. What a waste of time going all the way to woollies and find that the coupons was not scanning. I ended up abandoning all the other snacks that I was about to impulse buy, I am glad that the invalid coupon talked me out of them.
    Hope that McCain sort the issue out before the coupon expires, but next time I will go full ozbargain and just pick up the chips.

      But you don't really need to stay up until 12 am, as today I believe you could still redeem codes up until 10 or 11 am AEST. Kind of shows how the promo was a bit of a flop, though hopefully they fix the problem soon

    This is probably obvious, but I have checked around 7 working codes between a few OzBargainers and myself and there doesn't seem to be any similar patterns between them (besides the first 8 digits being identical throughout all codes, followed by 200 or 201 and a bunch of random digits after). Though interestingly enough, the last digit of the codes tend to be a 0 but can at times be other numbers too. Still this doesn't affect if the code works or not so it's likely to be random.

    This is my first time getting any free bag of chips from McCain and I picked up my bag with no hassles today. I checked the WW store had stock and went today, after getting the barcode last night. I printed off the barcode today at work. I printed off the same barcode a few time but different sizes because sometimes I've found that works if it doesn't work.

    I printed off a small, medium and a large barcode. The small I resized and the same with the medium. But the large was printed straight from my gmail email and it was large! The small was 1cm (H) x 3cm (L) medium was 1.7cm (H) x 5cm (L) and large was 2.3cm (H) by 7.2cm (L). The large one ended up working. The two little ones didn't register even though I tried them first. Then bam using the large one I got the "Promo Barcode Accepted" and got my free chips.

    So size does matter in this case. Also the two smaller barcodes weren't warped or pixelated or anything they just didn't register.

    So don't know if that's the issue with some people's barcodes not working or not. But just thought I'd put it out there!

      No, the barcode in the way you have described is not the issue. The barcodes are scanning properly, its an issue with the codes not being loaded into Woolworths system, or something like that.

        Oh OK. I just skimmed people's posts, that's probably why. I thought they just couldn't get the barcode to scan. My bad!

        Anyway maybe the new barcodes are working. But I agree once they fix the issue with the barcodes people received days ago, they should extend the collection period window an extra week or so. It's only fair!

    Just claimed mine first time no problem. Was a bit hesitant to go for 3 days after reading all the comments. Scanned 2 tissue box first so looks like I'm buying something else then scan the chips, and after that scaned my first barcode, went through fine
    My barcode starts with 2011. Made sure I got the pub style extra crispy. Went to revesby woolworth, self serve.

    Did anyone's barcode change in the initial email? I took screenshots of them when I received as I cbf searching email at the checkouts but when I look at the codes today, it's a different number to the one I screenshotted that didn't work (the one that worked for my husbands stayed the same)

      Same here. You can still use the initial emails and the new emails as they have the same code. The barcode image is dynamically generated from the backend service so I guess they fixed up the backend algorithms

        I've tried them from the first time they ran this. I can say they are better than the last quick cook chips. Give them a slight dusting of salt when they come out of the oven and you are good.

        Yea i agree too they are better the ones from the last promo, But they are also extremely oily. (had air fryed them, yet got too much oil after cooking). May be they soak it a lot lot.

        Its similar to wedges.

      Did you use multiple codes in the same transaction or scan 1 code per transaction and then do another transaction? Only reason is when I last got the chips a few days ago, I was told only 1 code works per transaction. So you would have to finish the transaction and then start a new one to scan another code (and I did try but, the system wouldn't let me scan more than 1 per transaction)

      I've checked 2 Woolies near me and both are now only stocking the Regular Pub Style Fries and NOT the Extra Crispy ones.
      Can confirm that the code now scans, but does not deduct the price of the Regular (non-extra crispy) Fries.
      Woolies checkout attendants were kind enough to give me the Chips for free but damn it I want the extra crisp!
