Or best of both worlds there

Pre-covid would have been a sweet deal, but hard to imagine flying to Phuket from Sydney when we can't even get into NSW from VIC without isolation.

Don't forget to add $200-$300 for PCR testing.

  • How likely is it that Australia closes its border again on its citizens and we get stuck overseas in next 3-6 month?

Dying to take a break here but can’t afford to live in another country for months if that happens.

    • When Australia closes it's borders again is largely irrelevant as it did not open them yet.

There's a ban on overseas travel from Australia. You can’t leave Australia unless you get an exemption from the Department of Home Affairs.

      • Reopening 1 November for Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate families.

From the start of November, fully vaccinated citizens, permanent residents and their families will be able to leave Australia for any reason, and limits on the number of people allowed into the country via NSW will be scrapped.

On that same date, NSW will ditch quarantine requirements, so people flying to Australia will be able to get off a plane in that state and (providing they're vaccinated and have returned a negative test) walk out into the Sydney sunshine.

Yes, only two weeks left. Oh wait..

  • Make sure you research Phuket Sandbox before booking. Very different experience than previous years with the lost tourism over the last 18 months.
