    224Mb Download

  • used to use this in school, was pretty good

  • doesn't work - all I get is "The link you tried to access is incorrect. Please check your entry!" when I followed the instruction and try to register.

    • press the back button and try again.

      • I had to do that, then it worked

    • No issues with Internet Explorer

    • Same here, the registration page didn't work with Chrome for me, though worked through ie9. Frustrating that so many sites are still IE optimized.

  • Worked for me, downloaded, ran, installed, registered, full version running.

    • yep, me too.

  • They withhold the (pdf) manual. (Reading from Help is no fun.)

  • There are plenty of Tutorials online. I used to do a lot of fooling around with Xara 3D, so looking forward to learning this. Thanks scupper.

  • Gets some good reviews at full price, I'll give it a try.

Pretty shit software. Its availible free for Linux. Definitely below par with illustrator and coral, not worth $79, but good for free!

On first appearance it may seem dull, (Windows 2000 style,) but functionally, this software is among the best.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, the interface is not bad

The major issues I can already see: 1. Its not an industry standard so you will have problems try to do anything real (ie. print, share, pub etc.) 2. limited capability especially not having gradient mesh 3. Xara is a dead end product unlikely to keep pace with leaders.

But its good for free but not as good as InkScape which is also free

Obviously, comments from narrow-minded and arrogant Illustrator user.

Firstly, this XX5 is two versions behind current version. Also, this is Xara's non-pro version - it's aimed at consumer/hobby market and priced accordingly. For the market it's intended for, it's among (if not) the best, period.

Any hobbyist who can do better than this: http://www.xaraxone.com/FeaturedArt/apr10/Xara%20Xone%20Feat…, sure can go and justify Illustrator at x10 price.

Your points 1 and 3 have little to do with XX5's functions.

And, for a measure, it's many times faster at re-rendering than InkScape.

Constructive/educated comments appreciated, but yours ain't it. Get off your high horse.

        • Er I am not an Illustrator user by choice but by demand. Its the industry standard. I think I would get a lot of confusion and anger if I sent someone a Xara file for publishing. Coral would be better than Xara.

re: the artwork in Xara - are you joking? I have seen better done in mspaint. its about the features and availability.

Are you working for them because your point are either moot or illogical.

    • According to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1907117 the Linux version of Xara lags behind the Windows version. The Windows version of Xara may be OK, but its worth checking out InkScape as well (which is what I normally use).

Development of Linux version was abandoned by Xara long ago.

  • thanks

  • Trying to see if I can use this as PCB designer lol.

EDIT: too cheap to pay for CAD software

  • I never got my serial, I tried both IE and Chrome.. and when I log in it says I have purchased it… Weird. Anyone with similar issues?

    • I had no probs using Firefox.

  • while free is good, it is 3 years old. downloaded and deleted straight away. it is 2012 now.

  • Expired now.
