Myer "Private" Sale - $20 off for Every $75 - Wednesday until Sunday

530

Oz-bargainers, my first post here.
Please correct me if I miss any detail in the title.

As title, Received a email from Myer.
They have a Myer Private Sale - $20 off for every $75 - Wed until Sunday
I know Myer is marked up double or triple of their price.
I used to go online shopping now rather than Myer.
But it is still good for someone that need them now.

$20 off for every $75 - Clothes
$25 off for every $75 - Homeware
$15 off for every $100 - Fragrances, small electrical kitchen appliances, electrical personal care, vacuum cleaners, irons and microwaves

Attached the voucher and I think you have to present it with Myer One Card.
For people don't have a Myer One card with them.
You can apply thur the following link.
http://www.myerone.com.au/

THANKS.

BTW, did anyone order Dyson DC35 from Amazon receive it?
I still waiting… Any good deal recently?

Thanks! Please forgive me for the first time!

        • your attitude is so good…:D

  • -1

    that's a decent 27% saving…
Does this promotion work for ipads/macs? Would be a good discount for them.

    • +2

why don't you read the fine print and find out.

    • +1

Doesnt look like electronics department has this offer otherwise there wouldve been some mention of TV's, computers etc.

    • +1

Actually, the discount for clothes is between 13.3% and 26.7% and for Homewares it is 16.7% to 33.3% depending on where your final price is between $75 increments.

      • +1

        minimum is zero discount

  • -5

"BTW, … Any good deal recently?"

Really. Are you locked inside a box with the ability to send bargains but not to receive them?

    Nice post though.

  • +6

The exclusion list is hilarious , makes you wonder what else is there.

  • +11

I think myer should do an inclusions list instead of exclusions. T&Cs would be so much shorter.

  • are they serious ? that exclusions list is pathetic.

  • +1

Aah, another "private" myer sale. I'm still trying to work out what that means since the last one.

Perhaps it's private since you have to be in australia to qualify?

    • you just have to have a myer one card.

    • +3

Private Sale usually means one staff member per floor.
If the head honcho's at Myer actually shopped there they'd soon discover why they are losing $$.

    • +6

It is not his fault that Myer's T&Cs are so onerous.
There are still some decent deals to be had on homewares at least given the exclusion aren't too bad and effectively 33% off if you spend $75 would mean some good deals, even at Myer prices.

      • i'm not saying it's his fault, i'm saying it's not a deal. If i said to you "come and visit my store 50% off everything", then doubled the RRP, you'd be annoyed.

That effectively what they're doing. The myer house brands cost price is less than 25% of what they charge, so 33% off isn't a bargain.

Understand your feelings Davo. Is it any wonder that retailers are struggling in Oz with utter BS promotions like this one. Given the long list of exclusions I think the ACCC should take a hard look at this campaign as it must come mighty close to bait advertising especially as the discount is printed in type about 200 times larger than the long list of exclusions.

It certainly deserves a big NEG but unfortunately this reflects badly on the OP who posted it in good faith.

I think the OzBargain community are pretty good a sniffing a deal from a non-deal and this one is a shocker.

But thanks to the ade123 for posting anyhow.

      • +2

Token ACCC comment lol, knew it wouldn't take long :/

        • +1

What's bad about it? It's what they're there for.. Remember Gerry's 3D TV's to watch the NRL deal? Nice 1.25mill fine for that.. What consumers should be doing is actively reporting bad business because big fines help them learn, do we really have to sink to the bottom for retailers to wake up?

  • -2

I WISH IPAD IS INCLUDED LOL

  • +7

Sorry every1 but i would like to inform u that this sale is no longer a Private Sale thanks to the OP. OP please change title to
Myer formally Private, now public Sale

    • +2

      hahahaha what a cracker

      • +1

i thought no one would find it funny with the number of neg votes

  • T&C say: "Original voucher must be presented."
Does it mean that the voucher printed from computer is not valid?

  • +3

instead of an exclusion list, myer should just start listing whats included. ffs.

  • hmm looking for upgrade my bed, seems this is the perfect time

    • +6

      From myers? Seriously?

      • +2

Sentence is incomplete, probably meant to say "perfect time…to wait for the Sleep City liquidation sale."

      • +1

do you know you can negotiate the price tag with myers sales people? I bought my bedding 8 years ago, video camera, vacuum cleaner, and television, all of them, I have negotiate the price with them

        • yea, when you get the right person, i reckon the deal is just as good as you can get anywhere. And if you stocked up on their gift cards from end of year, then its probably a better deal + return policy might be better than some places…. This has been my experience anyway…

        • forgot to mentioned that most of my purchase with myer gift card :)

        • +1

'The right person' is so true.. Myer had some sales on their gaming last year with some buy 1 get 1 frees etc. Literally waited about 15 minutes for someone to help me (or even to find a staff member) and when I asked about the prices he gave me BS and said it was below cost, they had LAUNCH TITLE xbox 360 games in the bin for $109, what a joke!

        • As long as its the right person you can negotiate awsome price. Like when your mate is the sales person. :P

    • recommend trying this: http://www.ergoflex.com.au/

we took a chance about 3 months ago.. haven't looked back.. REALLY comfortable.

  • Can they be used on already reduced item?

    • -1

"Can't be used with other offers."

      • I don't read anywhere it has to be with full priced goods. Do they normally consider pink price tag as an offer?

    • Last time they offered this it could be used on discounted stock.
We picked up some excellent egyptian towels, got the discounted price AND the $20 off on top too.

      • did the discounted price have an extra xx% off?

      • yup, i bought my dyson last time with similar discount and they also give me $10 voucher for next purchase, what a bargain. This dyson cost me out of pocket only $100.

        • What model is it?

        • dc33

  • Cameras seem to be included.

    • how ? i cant tell ?

  • can I buy a Macbook pro for this discount price?

    • +1

Yes, probably. But not from Myer.

  • Does this promotion include mac accessories? something like magic mouse or apple charger??

  • I don't think I have seen so many conditions on what's NOT included in relation to brand names. Good deal though on what you can actually purchase.

  • So do the barcodes on the vouchers work more than once? Otherwise only one person will be able to use it.

  • Can't use them on the new iPad which is useless, straight into the bin

  • Can you sign up for a myer one card and use it on the spot? I have one but cant find it.

    • Yes you can.
