Sony Bravia KD55X9500H 55" 4K TV $1588 (OOS) @ Sony Australia | Sony Bravia KD65X9500H 65" 4K TV $1995 + Del @ Harvey Norman

160

Hi, bought 65inch version of this for $2300 in August, been great - only thing I maybe wish it had is 4k 120Hz (like the similar X90J) but in trying Xbox series X at 4k 60Hz vs 1080p 120Hz on the X95H I personally struggle to tell much difference as far as frame rate is concerned.

Hope this helps somebody anyway:

55-inch $1588 @ Sony Store AU Sold out

65 inch $1995 @ Harvey Norman

PRICE MATCH AND CASHBACK
Also worth noting that if you wanted the 65-inch that Sony Store does price matching (Here) and you might also be able to get the current 10% at CashRewards.

Don't usually post but hopefully helps somebody.

Thanks!

Only issue with Sony's OS is the forced Adds on home screen. There's no parental control either, I had some bachelor or love island ad on for a week with girls in bikini and what not. Just ridiculous. thinking about changing the TV just for that reason.

      Hey

Not sure I've come across this?

This TV runs Google's 'Android TV' - I think some of the older TVs maybe have a Sony OS and the newer (later than X95H) have 'Google TV'.

Can't say I use Parental Controls however article suggests they're there in Android TV here.

      • My model is X9500G (2019) and running Android OS. The ads are mostly TV shows or movies which you can't disable from the TV itself.

Newer models now give you an option to set them up as Android OS or standard TV (where no OS is installed and you use Apple TV or any other smart device yourself).

    • I found an option to turn that off on my new TV, but then it also disables Google Assistant. Left it on in the end.

personally struggle to tell much difference as far as frame rate is concerned.

Are you sure you are on 120hz?

I had to temporarily go back to 60hz because my monitor broke and the difference was night and day

    • I dropped resolution to 1080p and the Xbox dashboard gave the compatibility tick for 1080p 120Hz, fresh booted Halo MCC but couldn't tell the difference.

There's a list of 120Hz supported games here but does anybody know any with FPS counter I could try?

Counters aren't all the common on console as far as I'm aware.

      • It supports up to 1440p 120hz.

  • looks like the 55" @ Sony is unavailbale now?

  • The 55" inch has been listed at that price for some time by Sony and JB but neither have had stock or I would have bought one weeks ago..

  • Both unobtainable at Sony store as the 9500H series were discontinued.
I am pretty sure Sony and their retailers cleared out their stock a couple of weeks ago with big discounts (below $1800 for the 65").
