bpc is on the farcry 6's list.

    • +6

      Thanks for mentioning that :)

      Here is the link guys:https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssd-farcry6-2021/

      • Bought the 2TB for $285, waiting for delivery.
Now I'm waiting on receipt to claim Far Cry 6.

        • +1

What is the process for claiming the farcry 6 code?

          • +3

@MelBorn: some mix of luck and crying

will need serial number from the drive itself (box is missing last character to reduce fraud) & copy of invoice/receipt, along with store details

don't be surprised if you get invalid serial number error and need to contact Samsung support…..

            • @HeXa: Just received mine and you're right it says invalid serial number. Will see about contacting Samsung support.

            • @HeXa: Yer i got an error, and cannot submit a claim. Fraudulent behaviour from Samsung IMO.

              • @Beerzy1980: I sent emails to samsung support. It took 2 weeks, but I just got the FC6 redemption code and it works just fine. They make you take action and wait, but atleast it is a "legit" offer. Hope this helps.

  • +11

Damn that 2TB price is nice.

    • +5

Definitely is, I remember when i got it for $500 last year.

      • +1

Damnn.. paid $569 last year .. just submitted a price protection with 28 degrees today lol for 359 at another store.. wonder if I can re-submit it for this 285 deal

        • +2

You can, as many times as you like within 12 months

        • Is 28 degree offer still available? I want to apply as well for the price protection.

    • The 2TB NVMe Evo Plus price seems to have now dropped $10 to $275

  • +1

Anyone think the 1TB will be lower in price during Black Friday sales?

    • +22

Gotta risk it for the biscuit

      • +3

Unless there's a new strain of covid the current vaccines cannot handle

        • -1

Lol.. more like temporary immunity boosters subscription model sold as vaccine 🙄

          • -3

@vash5: Lol being negged by communist bootlickers I assume

            • -2

@paul09: Lol.. it ain't the first time and sure as hell won't be the last time either 😅

Just wait 4 - 6 months and we will find ourselves in a similar situation as Singapore is in now. Keen to see what BS Dan will sell when it happens and if people will still keep buying it 🤔

      • Exactly right, risk it for the biscuit coz there is a chip shortage…

    • +2

Note that even if it has a lower price it won't come with Far Cry 6 on Black Friday so you have to weigh that up

    • Was already a lower price earlier today on eBay.

  • +2

we noticed several feedback regarding previous gaming PC orders

What did you do about it?

    • +2

I'd like to know too. What good is contacting their FB team when I've already fixed their build mistakes? e.g. poorly mounted CPU fan (no wonder my gaming temps were hitting 100c) and plugged into the wrong fan header, etc.

      • Hi Finner,

When you talk to us regarding the mistakes we made, it is essential for us to make compensation for you, because we are trying our best to keep customers happy, especially under these circumstances.

Also, it will help us improve as a team, so we can serve you better in the future.

So don't hesitate to contact us, no matter what time you place the order, we will do our best to fix the problem for you.

        Sincerely,
        BPC Team

    • +1

      Hi NoGiveJustTake,

Because we have customers who looking for a Gaming System warranty/Replacement caused by Shipping/Faulty Parts/Technician making mistakes, but somehow failed to reach our team through Tele/Email.

So now, we organized a customer service team on FB to help them resolve these previous issues.

      Regards
      BPC Team

  • +3

Is this eligible for the free Far Cry 6 offer?

    • +2

Yes. Under the name Budget PC.

      • +1

        Yes this.

    • Wonder if the code can be sold.

      • It can.

  • +4

    Would this work for ps5?

    • +4

No. PS5 requires Gen 4.0 whereas this is Gen 3.0.

    • +6

downvotes for asking acceptable questions. Stay classy ozbargain.

  • I just grabbed it…camelcamelcamel said the lowest price has been $169

    • +2

Been lower elsewhere, such as $149 today.

  • +1

Great price on the 2TB. Purchased. Thanks OP.

  • how long is the shipping??

    • mine says it will ship in two weeks

  • +2

Don't need another NVMe… got the 2TB anyway. Price was too irresistible

  • +1

nice finally a deal good enough to jump on the 2tb

  • Just bought 1 last week for $175 :(

  • Noob question, can this be fitted on to a laptop? Legion 5i?

  • +1

bloody good price for the 2TB… I have no reason to get one, bought anyway…

  • +2

Great deal! I've been watching the 2TB on Amazon drop down to $335 for the past few weeks, and was going to pull the trigger on the Black Friday sales. But this is such a great deal I'm buying now.

I guess I can always buy a 2nd one if they end up cheaper on the sales to replace the 512Gb that came with my laptop…

    Thanks!

  • Would this be good for running movies from (in a external enclosure) or just overkill compared to samsung t5 or t7

    • +1

Running moves from external source, a decent hdd (150MB/s) would handle just fine, event sata t5 usb 3.0 (500MB/s) is already overkill let alone nmve 3.0 in enclosure (presumbly you use a decent one reading 10xxMB/s)

      • Thanks for the advice

    • +2

Ridiculous overkill, I’d use spinning rust for movies.

      • Thanks for the advice.

    • Yes, but it would finish reading your entire movie in 1 second….. So overkill, but the price is attractive that I wouldn't think a T7 would be much cheaper. Using this drive in an enclosure basically makes it the equivalent to a T7, but one that you can also plug into your PC to use as an internal drive. I think the T7 has a proprietary board and is not in an M.2 format.

  • +2

tempted but don't need one at this stage..my storage can handle it..I'll wait for next year and prob it'll be even cheaper

    • +2

"It's not a bargain if you don't need it" - Grandpa.

  • This or the wd black sn750 1tb for $155 from shoppingexpress?

    • +2

Both similar speeds. I'd go Samsung for reliability. This also has free shipping + Far Cry 6; the WD at SE has neither (although maybe has a $20 Mastercard you can currently claim).

  • +1

That 2tb price is tempting , but will it ever drop below $200? finger cross

  • +1

Was waiting for Black Friday/cyber Monday sales too but… pulled the trigger on the 2TB. Happy :)

Now to see if bptech can give me the serial ahead of delivery so I can punch in the far cry redemption….

  • How long do you think express to QLD would take? Because with express post this is $4 cheaper than umart. But umart says it will take 1-2 days after placing an order for it to be sent to their store to be picked up, and if express will take 1-2 days then I may as well go that route.

    • Hi Hecklezz,

Under the current situation, we can make a promise to the courier service.

Last week we had one customer who ordered with express service Mel - Mel, then waited over three days.

All orders will start to process tmr as today is the public holiday.

      Regards
      BPC Team

      • fat finger *we can't

  • Just bought one.

While going through check out, it says you can create an account after processing.

I purchased, then made an account on BPC and then looked in my account and there is nothing showing up as I have bought Nothing, why is this?

    • +2

      Hi ZZtrader,

Generally, when we received your payment, your order will be transferred into an Invoice.

Then you will find out your order appears in your account.

It's just the system is waiting for your payment to go through ANZ EGATE.

      Cheers,
      BPC Team

      • 👍 Thanks for the heads up on that, cheers :)

  • If I place order now will it be ready for collection tomorrow or the day after? Or will I just have to wait the 1 or 2 weeks until shipped orders have been caught up and it'll be my turn in line to recieve?

    • If you're planning to click & collect, give them a call and they'll get the warehouse to pick your order to have it ready. I did this today.

      • Thanks mate, I'll give that a go

  • damn, i paid $399 at umart for the 2tb just over a month ago, wish i could have waited lol

    • Price protection from c.c?

      • Doubt I'd be able to sadly, paid via paypal. Good idea tho

  • i paid 374 for my 2tb a while back…

    • -1

It might had better specs while back, Samsung switched chips on these for cheaper ones, MLC —> TLC

      • +1

These were tlc when first released, 3 bit MLC= TLC.

        • Maybe MLC —> TLC is not technically correct, but sustained write dropped 1500MB/s to 800 MB/s. https://www.techpowerup.com/286008/et-tu-samsung-samsung-too…

          • @[Deactivated]: But the SLC cache also jump from 42gb to 115gb, and how often can you use all up? It's still within specs and cost less(thanks to chia).

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: It only drops after 115GB. So for the majority of users, the new one is faster. The new one also uses the same controller as the 980 Pro.

For those who want non-stop sustained write throughout the entire drive, buy a 970 Pro.

            • @Sleepycat3: If I copy files in groups less than 115GB, will the speeds drop then?

              • +1

@Sopzo: The difference will be as follows for copying a group of 115 GB of files, assuming they represent sequential write and the speeds are based on the arstechnica article showing the HD Tune Pro and CrystalDiskMark results for the two drives. Source: https://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/hd-tu…

                Old:
                0 to 42 GB: 1700 MB/s
                42GB to 2000 GB: 1500 MB/S
Total time to copy 115 GB: 1 minute, 13 seconds

                New:
                0 to 115 GB: 2600 MB/s
                115 GB to 2000 GB: 800 MB/s
Total time to copy 115 GB: 44 seconds

                • @Sleepycat3: Oops, wanted to add, the old drive that was tested only showed 1700 MB/s write, which is actually the writing issue bug that the old 970 Evo Plus suffers from. If you do a wipe and repartition, the write speeds should go back up to 2600 MB/s as well.

                  • @Sleepycat3: Also you mentioned earlier that the new drive is faster for majority of people. Are you including the bug there?

                • @Sleepycat3: Well I guess my question is, when do the speeds return to normal? Like when I am done copying, how long will it take so that I can copy again at the speeds of 2600 MB/s?

  • good deal

  • +4

    @budgetpc
Whats the PN on the drive sticker, MZVLB1T0HBLR (old n good) or MZVL21T0HBLU ? Your specs page says Controller: Samsung Phoenix Controller, so it is real MZVLB1T0HBLR ?

    • +1

Are they the only part numbers?
I got a 2tb 970 plus from a different store weeks ago which doesn't match either that you listed.
      MZVLB2T0HALB

      • +1

seems like original Part Number (Phoenix Controller) https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/pmvc9k/samsun…

        • my 970evo+ 1TB just arrived - is a BLR with 2021.09 build date

          so yay

          • +1

@HeXa: yay not sure :) you got original 1TB with a bug of slowing speeds. New 1TB may not have the bug, but has low sustained speed. No good choices here, lol

Anyway, I'm waiting for PCIe 4.0, WD SN850 or Samsung 980 Pro deal.

            • @[Deactivated]: ah well - is to be a boot drive in old PC anyways - only need 512GB but free FC6, so what the hell

yes - waiting for PCIe 4.0 goodness for my Alder Lake build - got 4 slots to fill!

    • +1

The new one is better. The old one has slower write speeds, a smaller SLC cache and the firmware bug that affects writing speeds after a few months, which Samsung are not fixing.

The new one is a 970 Evo Plus, but with a 980 Pro controller.

    • +3

      Hi Nuker,

The warehouse is not on duty today, So we can't check the stock package at the moment.

But from our website listing, it shows Phoenix.

But since you can check the controller model without damaging the box, we accept change of mind return once you find out this is not the model you are looking for.

      Regards
      BPC Team

      • Hi BPC team,

If we purchase the m2 drive, how do we get the farcry 6 code? Is that automatically included in the order and emailed to us or do we have to wait until we have the m2 drive and apply with samsung?

        • +2

          Hi Melborn,

Once you receive the SSD, keep the package and invoice,

          Please go to https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssd-farcry6-2021/.

Then click into the Claim Page

Generally, you need SSD SN and invoice number and other purchasing info of your SSD to claim the game. Once Samsung verified your order details with us they will send the code to your email.

          Regards
          BPC Team

      • +1

It seems there is new packaging for the 2TB evo plus. I think on the side it has the production date which could be handy to know when these were produced?

You can see a screenshot here
        https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/pmvc9k/samsun…

  • +2

Thanks Nuker . Same Q for Rep.. Whats the PN on the drive sticker, MZVLB1T0HBLR or MZVL21T0HBLU ? or which type of packaging box for 1TB ? see photo… https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/PCTKAfqmvhwi3DgjEkiumF-188…
