  • For earwax? A bit over the top, wouldn't you think?

  • those spiky ones look a bit dangerous.
if u get enough earwax you can make a candle!

Unsafe product. The risk of an eardrum perforation is high. Sticking things into the ear is not a good idea.

I got the Xiaomi bebird one with a camera. It's so safe as you can see everything.

  • Do not use on own ear?

  • That's the anniversary present sorted for next year. Cheers OP.

    • Wax Anniversary. lol

  • Are any of the tools bigger than my elbow?

Stop reselling cheap Aliexpress garbage ffs. If we want it, we can buy it from Aliexpress ourselves.

but someone on tiktok told him he'd make a six (or 7) figure income quiting his 9 to 5 & starting a FBA side hustle…. he even bought the course

    • But I prefer buying from Kelsamexpress more!

All these associated posts are usually garbage. Also cheaper here.

  • Always wanted to be a dentist.

  • Just don't. Ears are self-cleaning and earwax works its way out of your ear naturally and you can use 10 fingers to finish the job.

    • *any of 10 fingers

using 10 you are doing it wrong

Normally yes, but some people may experience greater buildup which can be a problem. Otherwise ear wax removers like Audisol and Waxsol wouldn't exist.

      • Sure, if you have a problem go see a doctor and use what he recommends.

        • Sure. My point is that the ears' self-cleaning mechanism doesn't always work for everyone as you implied.

Inserting instruments like that into ears can absolutely be dangerous but plenty of people around the world do it their entire life with no issues.

          • @eug: This is a logical fallacy. A healthy person does not need to insert anything in their ears including qtips. If you have problems, go see a doctor and follow their recommendations.

You're missing my point. Some people are genetically predisposed to produce clumpy earwax, e.g. Asians. They can be 100% healthy and have clumpy earwax the same way some people happen to have more dandruff.

Ear picks have been used for centuries and is a completely normal thing in many Asian countries.

There are lots of things which are completely normal overseas that might sound dangerous here. e.g. changing a light switch yourself is quite normal in the UK and US but mention that here and people will think you'll burn your house down. Likewise whilst there definitely are risks in DIY earwax removal, it's a completely normal thing in many countries around the world.

  • I've actually used the scoop type ones before. First time I used it, I scooped a hardened wax, which was as big as my pinky (so ~10mm long) and was cylindrical shaped hollow (so basically it had hardened around the canal).

Pretty good for a one time thing, but would not recommend using it more than once a year as it does scratch the canal. Going the salt water squirt route is way safer too.

    • My tap water isn't salty.

  • OP changed the deal to a back scrubber. Now everyone's going to be wondering why people are talking about using a back scrubber to remove wax from their ears.

    • I'd feel safer using the back scrubber in my ears, tbh.

      • I guess anything's an ear cleaner if you're brave enough.

Wait, I might be thinking of something else…

  • Doctor Karl always says - "Don't stick anything in your ears smaller than your elbow"

    Also it's not a bargain.
