Looks like we can have a break from our weekly gift card hunting.

    • +5

For once, something else for us to go nuts over.

    • +1

Technically there is a Gift Card Promo, just not a great one…

Collect 2000 bonus points when you buy a Cotton On, The Restaurant Choice, Gourmet Traveller Restaurant, Country Road, or Good Food Gift Card and swipe your Flybuys card at the checkout.

  • Awesome, thanks :)

  • delicious, unlike the bega ones which taste horrid and have the consistency of soup

    • +3

Yes I agree Mayvers are better. However, I find that if you open up a Bega simply nuts jar and place in the fridge to cool it down for a few hours (or overnight), the consistency becomes very similar to Mayvers (aka not soup like).

      • Helpful. I bought a Bega one because nothing else was on sale!

      • Thank you for this! I've put mine in the fridge the past couple of days and it's really helped with the horrid consistency.

Try the green label "The Crunchiest" version.

I personally think the Mayver's quality has gone down over the last 12 months or so…

There seems to be much more oil, which is separated from the solids.

Plus they stopped using Australian peanuts.

  • About time!! I'm down to my last jar. Prefer PIC's personally but Mayver isn't too far behind.

I am sure Amazon will price match when this starts at Coles :)

last couple of jars i bought were quite noticeably average quality compared to previous purchases, so i checked the jar, and what do you know……. its now an imported product. no longer buying since its not australian

    • +1

Looking at my jar now. Made from South American and Australian peanuts. At least 25% Australian Ingredients.

      • +1

Probably from Argentina, they grow good peanuts apparently.

        Big news, NOT Chinese.

    • +3

They said that there was a shortage of Australian peanuts, so they had to supplement: no idea of it's a permanent change, though.

    That’s nuts!

    Thanks OP!

  • All these nut jokes, when a peanut is a legume.

    • If it looks like a nut, tastes like a nut it’s a frigging NUT! 😀

      • Except for it looks nothing like a nut and doesn't taste like "real nuts" either.

        It's a pineapple of apples.

  • king of all the nut butters

Unaffiliated spruiking of The Olde Spikey Bridge peanut butter… No deal to be had that I know of, but I can't eat anything else as this stuff is near perfection! Though fans of PB may hit this page so I wanted to give them a shout out. Also 100% Australian Peanuts used.

    • Seconded. I always load up on this stuff when I visit Tassie.

Any recommendations for peanut butter similar to the now defunct Dick Smith's bush foods/OzeNuts peanut butter? I don't know why it tasted so different to every other peanut butter I try but I've straight up stopped eating peanut butter because none of them taste like the OzeNuts stuff.

You could try these. I haven't had the peanut butter, but I've had kg of their nuts and worked in Kingaroy for a few months. Definite delicious…. Just not an ozbargain. Save some money on another deal so you can afford these :)

  • Did anyone else get momentarily excited that there's a MacGyver peanut butter?

    • +2

It was just you Patty ;)

  • Upset that the 'SKIN ON' PB is no longer being made.

  • Thanks, just bought 39. I've been conservative with using it for the last 6ish months since there hasn't been a sale in that time.
