Black Friday Blend 2.0 $25/1kg Delivered (50% off Entire Range) @ Coffee on Cue

1000

Hi OzBargain fam,

We're launching our Black Friday Sale nice and early before the delivery networks get jammed.

Our Black Friday Blend is back by popular demand - aptly named Black Friday Blend 2.0. To celebrate, we've slashed 50% off our entire range.

We had so much fun developing and sharing our Black Friday Blend last year, we've taken what we loved about our first version and kicked it up a notch.

Pairing both a Brazilian and Ethiopian bean, it features rich notes of butterscotch, hazelnut, with a delicate, sweet floral finish. This blend is sweet, creamy and all things dreamy.

We've got 1x 1kg, 2x 1kg and 3x 1kg sizes available, starting at $25 for 1kg including free shipping.

Free shipping will be via the Couriers Please network, and AusPost will only be used for PO Boxes & Parcel Lockers.

Upgrade to Express Shipping for a flat-rate of $5 via the AusPost Express network.

THE FINER PRINT

  • Available in whole beans only
  • Shipment delay is not available
  • Splitting into smaller bags is not available
  • Coffee roasted up on Monday 8th November
  • First orders dispatched from Tuesday 9th November

Sale ends Sunday or until sold out.

Our Black Friday Blend 2.0 has been a fun one to develop and we can't wait for you to try it.

Happy Shopping x

    product in title? lol

  • +2

Will it blend, that's the question!!

  • Anyone tried this before?

    • +1

Yes I tried it last year very good coffee 😀 I bought 3kg.

  • Based on reading other threads giving this a go. Glad to see you have abandoned Aus Post for most deliveries given how slow they have been recently.

    • +2

Interestingly, from what I've observed, they've sped right back up! :D

      • +2

My latest experience with Aus Post was getting a package from Outer western suburbs of Melbourne to south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, not a long journey.

Package arrived last week taking just under 1 month for deliver.

Received an email from AP after 2 weeks saying if it does not arrive in 1 weeks time to contact them. Did not arrive so contacted them and got an automated response saying allow another 2 weeks before they will even look. Like, why bother with the first email if you completely ignore what you say in it.

Another example, friend last month made 2 wine orders from wineries in SA. AP took around a month to deliver, the other (hunter express) took 3 days.

Maybe last week or 2 AP have got their act into gear, but my experience with them over last few months has been atrocious, even fastway/amarax were faster than AP!

        • Another privatisation failure in exchange for getting ripped off and destroying the economy.

        • wow, that really sucks! :(

My comment was indeed suggesting in the last 1-2 weeks and so I think in some cases/areas they've really got their act together. I've received two parcels in the last week that were sent by express and received in 2 business days. I sent a parcel to Oran Park NSW on Friday and it's onboard for delivery today. It's good to know things might be returning to normal in some cases, as I'm very sick of paying express rates for less-than-standard post timelines.

I know in Sep/Oct there were a bunch of sorting centers closed due to outbreaks, and therefore the cause of massive delays. You might have been caught in the peak of that (as I was when posting a few things I sold on eBay). In my experience, Sendle has been inundated with parcels as well, and in some cases, my parcels took a few days longer to get to me than anticipated.

Hopefully we're seeing the end of such delays, etc. :)

        • +3

Have you ever called Australia Post? I've always had fantastic experiences speaking to the people there and on each occasion they have managed to get the issue sorted! Each person I've spoken to has been nothing but polite,

Aramex/Fastway couriers, now there's a company that needs to be drowned. Incredibly slow, lost packages and terrible customer service. I mean look at their Google reviews 1.2 stars from 5,700odd reviews. The score would no doubt be lower if you could rate them as '0'

      • Well Couriers Please worked well for this (at least in Melbourne for me), dispatched yesterday and order just delivered.

    • +7

From my own personal experience Couriers Please is a much slower and less reliable service than Auspost, but I guess it must depend on the area.

      • +1

Wait. Are they competing to see who can be the worst?

Maybe I've completely misunderstood competition theory and that's why nothing works as well after privatisation.

    • +5

Couriers Please is 10x worse than AusPost, even if they are suffering from delays. I refuse to buy from any retailer that uses Couriers Please due to the bad experiences I've had with them in the past.

      • +1

Wait until you have the pleasure of dealing with Aramex! Like the name suggests all parcel go via the Middle East & Mexico.

And the Your parcel is on board for delivery message means it's onboard the boat from Mexico.

    • Hi rheags,

Thanks so much for giving our Black Friday Blend 2.0 a go!

We really appreciate you placing an order with us, and we hope you love your coffee :)

    • Mine took over 1-2 weeks to arrive using AusPost. Emailed CoC and they sent out another one on the house using express which arrived on time. Now I have 2kg! Not complaining though. Great coffee, nonetheless :)

  • My friend likes strong coffee, is this strong?

    • Sorry, I just realised in the second picture that it is medium. There's my answer!

    • ever noticed that supermarket coffee is rated from 3/5 to 5/5 in strength? nobody wants to admit they like 'weak' coffee so they don't rate anything as a 1 or 2

      • +1

Supermarket coffee is always roasted dark because it's trash. The worse the beans the darker you roast so as to hide the quality of the beans

  • I bought 1kg to try it out.

    • +2

      Hi MJ101,

We really appreciate you trying out our coffee, it means a lot to us!

The team and I hope you love your coffee, and thank you for your purchase :)

  • +1

Thanks for changing away from aus post. Also a shout out to these guys for going above and beyond when my last bag was stuck with AP in delivering new beans. Both blends were superb and as good as Lime blue (my other Ozb fav). I'm still finishing the last bit of mine off and have LB next but for anyone on the fence. Do it.

I might order some for a gift!

    • Hi freestyle18,

How thoughtful to order some of our BF Blend 2.0 as a gift - the recipient is lucky ;)

Yes, we have learnt a lot over the past 12-18 months and have witnessed both the growth and decline in popularity and effectiveness of many of the major delivery networks.

We've assessed the current delivery climate and have put forward the best options to deliver a fresh product in a timely fashion, and pushed our sale early ahead of the rest.

Really appreciate your feedback and support :)

  • Giving it a go. More of a strong and deep flavor coffee guy normally but for $25 you can't lose!

    • Hi dchurch1,

Thanks for giving our coffee a go! We're excited to have you try it and to hear what you think.

This blend certainly have a solid flavour profile, but a very rich and creamy mouthful which is super delightful.

Thanks again for placing an order with us :)

  • Massive delay last year: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/583840, possibly due to discounted shipping rate (and therefore low priority service) from logistics partners at the time, hopefully better this time around.

    • Hi browser,

Appreciate you sharing our BF deal from last year.

We've assessed the current delivery networks and have put forward the best options to deliver our fresh product as quickly as possible.

We too want to avoid the delays seen last year and throughout this year.

Thanks again for your post and your support :)

  • Thanks. Picked up a kg…

    • +1

      Hi Savitar,

Great to see you give our BF Blend a try.

The team and I really appreciate you placing an order with us :)

  • Just wondering if someone could tell me what's the typical shelf life for 1kg bag (sealed)? I'm thinking how many 1kg bag I should get. Once opened, I usually put them in a sealed container.

    • +1

If you have space in your freezer you can freeze any excess beans.

    • +2

Depends how fussy you are. I personally wouldn’t leave it for more than 4 weeks before opening. What I am planning is buying 2kg and freezing 1kg in sandwich bags (about 200g each bag). Just try to get as much air out of it as possible. Take out the frozen beans the night before using. I’m not the fussiest coffee drinker so if there is a better option I would appreciate hearing it.

      • +2

No need to defrost the night before, can throw frozen beans straight into the grinder (some say it even gives a better grind)

        https://fullcoffeeroast.com/can-you-grind-frozen-coffee-bean…

        • I would still defrost them - as the beans will require a different grind setting when frozen compared to room temperature, you don't want to be chasing your tail constantly adjusting your grind settings.

    • I do notice a difference after about a month or so but I've found it's still pretty good up to 2 months

    • Generally beans are best used around the 10-15 day mark after roasting and from that point you ideally want to be using them within 3-4 weeks but you will notice a change in flavor the older they get, usually you can feel a slight change in the texture of the grind as well.

Of course if you aren't that fussy then none of that matters.

  • Thanks OP. What is your recommended brew recipe for espresso/

    • +1

      Hi smarter_fool,

      Thanks for your question.

The team and I are finalising our brew recipe collateral and this will be sent out to all BF Blend 2.0 customers via email once our dispatch is complete.

We'll provide you with the info you need to get the most from your BF Blend 2.0

Hope to see you place an order with us :)

  • -3

$25 for 1kg seems too cheap..

How do we know what the roast date is on these?

    • roasted before shipment

      • +4

i want mine roasted during shipment

        • I want mine roasted by the auspost delivery guy en-route

    • It says roasted today 8/11

    • Hi yama131,

I can understand your hesitation, but I can assure you our Black Friday Blend 2.0 is getting roasted up today (Monday 8th) as we speak and we'll commence dispatch from tomorrow.

We hope to see you place an order, and we promise you won't be disappointed.

  • hey OP - anything pre-grinded? (yes - I know I need to invest in a good coffee grinder, just haven't got there yet).

    • +1

      Hi crumbo85,

      Thanks for your question.

For this particular deal, we're only offering whole beans on all orders.

We do hope to see you place an order with us.

PS. As a thought, if you have a friend or cafe close by to you, they might be happy to grind it for you, unless of course it's time to invest in that grinder ;)

  • Is delivered delivery avai- oh.

  • d'oh right in the good OzB price per kg range but I haven't even opened the recent Airjo purchase yet.

    • And you bought more Airjo over the weekend right?

  • I so appreciate all these good coffee deals. I have just finished my Little Marionette beans and I am still waiting on a delayed delivery from Lima Blue Coffee, but I just placed an order for 1kg with Coffee on Cue. Despite them being more expensive than the supermarket beans (duh), so far I have always been pleasantly surprised!

    • +2

once you get freshly roasted locally, you can't buy grocery store stuff anymore.

      • So true!

    • +1

      Hi simochomps,

There are a lot of good specials out there that's for sure.

The team and I really appreciate you placing an order with us.

We hope you're pleasantly surprised by our Black Friday Blend 2.0 ;)

  • i like the price, freshly roasted today on Monday, and free shipping,

    I'm in

    • +1

      Hi Rickrone,

Thanks so much for placing an order with us.

We're busy roasting today and can't wait to commence dispatch tomorrow.

Thanks again for your support :)

  • Thanks OP, me and my partner ordered 3 bags. The flavours sound delicious! :)

    • Hi Wonderstache,

Thanks for your order, that's awesome to hear - we love that.

The flavour notes on this blend are super delicious, and you're also going to find a very creamy mouthful and body to the coffee.

It's been fun to develop and we're excited to share it with you :)

  • OP (or others) What are the best ways to store whole beans bagged like this?

Stick it straight in the freezer and defrost overnight in fridge or something? Or move into an airtight container?

    • I put about a weeks worth (300gm) in my grinder bean hopper (Breville Smart Grinder Pro) and the rest in an airtight container in my pantry (Breville bean keeper which came in a gift pack with my machine or a ceramic container with airtight lid)

Anything I can't use within 4 weeks I vacuum seal and freeze in 300gm (ish) bags. I defrost overnight on counter bench (unopened) then in the morning I open the bag and pour all of it into the bean hopper.

  • going to give it a go as i'm about out of beans.

As others noted. Couriers Please is more of a side grade, rather than upgrade. Have found them to be just as hopeless as AP.

    • Hi STE,

Thanks for placing an order with us, we really appreciate it.

I'm sorry to hear of your poor experience with Couriers Please.

We've assessed the current delivery network and have put forward what we feel is the best options available.

That coupled with pushing our sale ahead of many other retailers should mean your coffee gets to you as fresh as possible.

Really appreciate your feedback and supporting our BF Sale :)

      • thanks, delivery already. having a drop as we speak. might order another bag.

        • Hi STE,

          That's so great to hear!

We hope you're loving your Black Friday Blend 2.0 :)

  • yeah alright got a 1kg. if it's not strong i'll just give it to my parents lol.

can I ask, do paypal charge you a ridiculous 2.7% fee?

    • Hi Gallifr3y,

Thank you for your order, the team and I are really grateful for you grabbing a kilo of our BF Blend 2.0

It's a medium roast with a rich, creamy mouthful - we do hope you enjoy it, and your parents ;)

I'm not sure on the paypal fee, I'd have to ask one of my colleagues.

Thanks again for your support :)

  • Hey OP,
Is it possible to order now but ask for order not to be shipped for (say) 3 weeks?- just getting through my current supply at the moment but looks like a killer deal and don't want to miss it!

    • In the deal, the fine print says: "Shipment delay is not available"

      • Yeah I completely missed that- thanks

    • Hi djthornton,

Thanks so much for your question.

Unfortunately we are dispatching all orders in one phase, without any delay available.

I could recommend you freeze a portion of your beans in the freezer, and defrost them as you need them.

This will retain freshness pretty effectively and you can pre-portion out the amounts you need based on your consumption.

Hope to see you place an order with us :)

      • No worries, thanks for letting me know

  • I'm in. It's good to have extra coffee as we slide into the festive season. Not to mention the tasting notes really pulled on my heart strings for my love of coffee!

    • Hi Tinman,

Thanks so much for placing your order with us.

We can't wait to get your BF Blend 2.0 to you, and we hope you love the flavours in your cup ;)

      Thanks again for your support.

  • I ordered 1Kg, if the beans are freshly roasted I bet I can get a great flavour out of them :D Thanks

    • Hi sqheaven,

Thank you so much for placing your order with us.

We've been busy roasting today, and can't wait to start dispatching tomorrow.

We can't wait for you to receive your super tasty, freshly roasted BF Blend 2.0

Thanks again for your support :)

      • Best of luck with your business, I love it.

        • Such kind words, thank you so much sqheaven.

  • Ordered 1kg to try. Thanks for the deal!

    • Hi Newtz4,

Thanks so much for placing an order for 1kg and giving our Black Friday Blend 2.0 a try!

We're thrilled you took advantage of our deal :)

  • @julianm FYI you might want to ease up on the amount of emails Coffee ON Cue are sending out. I understand you have a business to run and I thank you for the good coffee deals but 6 emails in 3 days, bordering on spam. I know I can just unsubscribe but I do truly want to receive say one email a week would be fine.

    • Hi Solrak,

Thanks for your order and really appreciate the comment.

I'll take this onboard and the team and I will review our emails.

Really appreciate you bringing this to our attention and for your support.

  • ordered 1kg to try - received today.

    can't complain about that

    • Hi sifntdaz,

Wonderful! That's great to hear your coffee has arrived so swiftly.

If you have any questions on brewing it up, feel free to shoot our team and email and we'll be more than happy to help.

      Enjoy :)

  • Thanks OP love a coffee deal, tried to order but after selecting so many of the seemingly endless security images to prove I’m not a robot gave up and ordered elsewhere 😢.

    • Hi thatsapaddlin,

Thank you for your message and feedback here.

Can I ask, what checkout method were you using?

Was this via PayPal, or Afterpay or something different?

I'd like to get to the bottom of it and rectify any issues that may be present.

      • Thanks I think paypal

        • +1

          Thanks thatspaddlin,

I'll take a look into it.

  • Ordered on Monday morning, shipped Tuesday evening, arrived today (Thursday morning) so within 36 hours of shipping. No issues with Couriers Please for me! (I'm only 25km away from the sender though).

Look ok I will first say I have no idea about the quality coffee but for this comment it doesn't matter.

Why the (profanity) do I need 9 emails in 2 days about how my 1kg of coffee is being ordered/cooked/blahblahblah…. (profanity) (profanity) sake, Imagine if Coles sent you 9 emails about every boring shit purchase you ever made. They need to get a spliff or a root and lay off the caffeine for a bit, amIright???

  • Great service guys. Ordered Monday, delivered Thursday!

    • Hi snensnay,

      Wonderful! Awesome to hear it.

The team and I hope you absolutely love your Black Friday Blend 2.0 :)

Sydney here. Unfortunately seems to be delayed on delivery :(

    • Mine is due Tuesday, it did say Monday previously

  • Are all the beans roasted on Monday 8th November, or are they roasted fresh from the 8th? Got 1 kg of beans left to get through, hopefully it’s the later so that I can order it today and have newly roasted beans..
