          • @Redrose037: Ok so I got the card in the post yesterday afternoon. I never received any confirmation of when the application was approved but it now says complete in the application section.

I don't know when I was approved so I don't know on which date I need to have spent the 2500 to avoid the monthly account fee. Guess I need to spend fast!

I will update regarding bonus point allocation, fingers crossed it is as promised…

  • Have finally met the $5k spend nearly 2 months in. It is a bit harder to spend $5 by yourself than I expected. I did apply for a second card for the wife but they wanted her to go to the branch and bring ID documents which was too hard. She likes the results of my churn program but not the process. Hahaha.

A fair bit of my spending was on rates, car and boat rego etc. Does anyone know if CBA have restrictions on what the $5k spend categories have to be or do they not care? I know some banks are very picky.

    Cheers.

    • I was reading last night, no government associated spending. Like rates and rego etc. :(

      • Use beemit / zippay to make the gov spend eligible.

        • Can someone confirm that you will not get any points if you use it to pay rates and rego?

Also if you use Beemit, do you get 0.8 or 0.4 point per dollar spent?

  • Anyone got the points within the first month? I am still waiting even though I have spent close to 9.5k and also paid off in first month itself.

    • Yes it’s possible. Gets put through at the end of the statement cycle

    • I've spent $5k within the first month and got my first statement on 14th March but no bonus points yet.

      • CBA seem like the slowest bank to process reward points. First time owning their card.

      • +1

Update: Just received my bonus points!

        • Did you get Qantas 70k points? I am wondering if they have fixed the issue reported earlier by a number of people where only 40k+ is credited.

        • @king kong. Where do you see that you got the points?

  • Spent 6k in the 1st statement, no bonus Qantas points

    • Hey any joy getting those points? I spent just over 5k in 1.5 months but didnt get the bonus points on my second statement either…

      • Nothing still … was hoping it would of arrived so I can cancel this credit card. Doesn't sound good if you're not seeing it in your 2nd statement.

        • I just got 175k points 'bonus award' added just after the second statement although it says 'adjusted' beside the points so not sure what that means. They have not been transferred to qantas yet. Do I now need to wait until my 3rd statement is released to qantas. Also why is 175k points. I thought the deal was for 70k qantas points. Not sure what has happened.

          • @cathalm8: 175K CBA Awards points gets converted to Qantas points via the 0.4 conversion rate. 175000*0.4 will therefore get you the 70K QFFP advertised in the deal

        • I got my points on the 2nd statement, maybe best to contact them now to get the ball rolling if you wish to cancel early

          • @AussieDeals: Called the awards number on 13 16 61 but received the generic response of "will be credited within 90 days of meeting thr spend".

Hopefully I receive them on 2nd statement!

  • I received the 70,000 bonus Qantas Points at the end of the second billing period (the spend requirement was completed early in that period).

  • Worst customer service I have ever experience out of ANY bank.

No sign of bonus points in my QFF account. Been on hold for over 10 hours during the week, cant get through.

They had a system outage for 5 days, and my transactions didn't close by the end of the month, but they still applied the fee.

Sent a message on their FB page.

Sent a message via their app I want to close this card as it is rubbish.

Lodged 3 complaints.. Had one returned call that dropped out, and no call back.

Ended up reporting the card as stolen _ sent them a message that it has been stolen on the app… it is still active 3 months later.

    DISGRACE!

  • Did anyone get the points credited for the last month(in the month they closed card) or do they get forfeited?
